The snake swarm kept flowing in from the outside, and it was unclear just how many there were. Ye Qing stood there watching as the snakes orderly avoided him, not a single one coming close. It seemed they understood the relationship between Ye Qing and Fat Jiao, and thus held great respect for him.
Watching the endless stream of snakes, Ye Qing was astonished not only by their disciplined nature but also by their sheer numbers. He had been watching for over two hours now, and the snakes continued to pour in. How many were there exactly? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands?
Thinking back to when he saw the snake swarm attacking from the mountain top, they surged like a tide, and Ye Qing was thoroughly frightened at the time. Seeing it up close this time, Ye Qing was once again shocked by the swarm's numbers. People called Mount Wendao "Snake Mountain," and it truly wasn't an exaggeration—the mountain teemed with snakes.
"Jiao, just how many snakes do you have here?" Ye Qing couldn't help but ask, knowing full well Fat Jiao wouldn't answer. The creature was preoccupied with satisfying its cravings, having popped another Ziyu Chenxiang Pill into its mouth.
Ye Qing was speechless at Fat Jiao's behavior, but the continual influx of snakes sparked a new idea in his mind. With such a swarm, how would they fare against the Wanyan Family's Long-toothed Rats? Who would emerge victorious?
The Wanyan Family's Long-toothed Rats were their most lethal weapon. To the world's heroes, the rats were more fearsome than Wanyan Hongfeng with the Minghong Knife's scabbard. No matter how powerful Wanyan Hongfeng was, he couldn't stand against everyone. In contrast, the Long-toothed Rats' overwhelming numbers couldn't be countered, not even by peak masters. Therefore, the real threat to the heroes wasn't Wanyan Hongfeng, but the Long-toothed Rats.
Ye Qing had pondered this issue before, thinking of various strategies to deal with the Long-toothed Rats to resolve the Wanyan Family's chaos. Yet, no method could effectively eliminate all the rats due to their staggering numbers.
However, witnessing the confrontation between Mount Wendao's snake swarm and the Long-toothed Rats, Ye Qing formulated an idea. If ordinary methods couldn't handle the rats, could another approach work? The snake swarm on Mount Wendao was a natural nemesis to the Long-toothed Rats! If they faced off, it would be a crushing defeat for the rats.
Ye Qing watched the snake swarm, contemplating how to use them against the Wanyan Family's Long-toothed Rats. Of course, he dared not confront the Wanyan Family outright due to the rats' overwhelming numbers. Although the snake swarm couldn't match the rats in number, they were still the rats' natural foes. But if the disparity was too large, the conflict might not go in the snakes' favor.
After a long while, the swarm finally stopped. Ye Qing estimated there were tens of thousands of snakes in this batch alone. Yet this was only the group carrying in Long-toothed Rats; many others hadn't emerged. Truly, the number of snakes on Mount Wendao was unknown to anyone. But clearly, it wasn't small.
Fat Jiao, like a king, oversaw the snake swarm bringing in all the Long-toothed Rats before stopping. It turned to Ye Qing, its large, shiny eyes darting back and forth, curious about Ye Qing's thoughts. Communicating with the speechless creature was quite troublesome.
"Jiao, what are you planning?" Ye Qing asked curiously.
Fat Jiao pondered for a moment before using a small claw to tug at Ye Qing's clothes, pulling him aside. Ye Qing had no idea what Fat Jiao intended, but followed anyway.
They walked to another end of the cave where a stone cave extended upwards, its destination unknown. Fat Jiao emitted a soft Long Yin from here. Before long, Ye Qing heard a rustling from within the cave, as if something massive was descending. Moments later, a gigantic snake head emerged!
The sight of this enormous head startled Ye Qing. It was the largest snake he'd ever seen. The giant snakes he'd observed on the mountain top were shocking enough, able to swallow a person in a single mouthful during battles with the Church. Now, this snake dwarfed them, its head as big as a vat, capable of swallowing a fat person whole. How could one not be amazed?
Even though Ye Qing had seen many snakes today, the sight of such a colossal one still made him shiver involuntarily. Who wouldn't fear such a creature? Especially one so large!
Yet, this giant snake seemed to hold great respect for Fat Jiao. It slowly descended from the cave, extending its body over twenty to thirty meters. If it had horns, claws, and scales, people might mistake it for a Giant Dragon; it was immense!
The giant snake lay on the ground, seemingly expressing its respect for Fat Jiao. Confronted with a snake many times its size, Fat Jiao showed no fear, confidently treading on the snake's head and moving onto its body. At the same time, it extended a small claw to gesture for Ye Qing to come up as well.
Ye Qing hesitated briefly, looking at this giant snake. Truthfully, he wasn't keen on climbing onto it; the snake was terrifying. But since Fat Jiao insisted, Ye Qing thought he might as well see what was happening.
Taking a deep breath, Ye Qing cautiously took two steps forward, coming alongside the giant snake, his calves trembling slightly. It wasn't just him feeling afraid; in such a scene, anyone's legs would shake with instinctive fear.
The giant snake obediently kept its head resting on the ground, even as Ye Qing approached, it showed no signs of aggression.
Seeing the snake's demeanor, Ye Qing let out a sigh of relief. He slowly stepped onto the snake's body and proceeded towards the Fat Jiao.
Fat Jiao extended its claw, pressing Ye Qing onto the snake's body, and then reached out its claw to pat the snake's head.
The giant snake seemed to receive a command, carrying Fat Jiao and Ye Qing upwards along the stone cave.
Ye Qing had ridden horses, motorcycles, and bicycles, but never a snake. Especially not one so large. To tell the truth, being here felt like being on a small train—it was utterly awe-inspiring.
The stone cave was almost vertically upwards, but the giant snake carried a person and a Jiao without any difficulty, rapidly ascending.
Ye Qing was overwhelmed with shock, gripping tightly to Fat Jiao beside him, fearing he might fall. Fortunately, nothing happened along the way. The snake ascended for about twenty minutes before a light appeared ahead, and they were finally about to exit the stone cave.
Soon after, the view suddenly brightened, and Ye Qing and Fat Jiao emerged from the cave. This new location was yet another cave. However, this cave had an open feel with many uncovered areas, allowing them to see the sky above, with light streaming in from outside.
This place must be located at the mountain's summit. But unlike the previous places Ye Qing visited, this environment was markedly better, with warmth and humidity conducive to plant growth.
Inside the cave grew many plants, resembling a beautiful paradise. Moreover, several large-bodied snake species inhabited this place; among them were dozens similar in size to the giant snakes Ye Qing had seen on the mountaintop. As for others, some were bigger and some smaller than these snakes, but each had considerable size.
Naturally, the giant snake Ye Qing and Fat Jiao rode was the largest and most imposing among the snake population.
Seeing Fat Jiao approaching, the snakes immediately gathered around, as if bowing to Fat Jiao.
Fat Jiao appeared commanding, riding atop the giant snake, surveying the surrounding giant snakes as if it were a king reviewing its subjects, showcasing grand presence.
Standing behind Fat Jiao, Ye Qing fully realized Fat Jiao's status at Mount Wendao. Here within Mount Wendao's realm, it was the absolute ruler. All snake species regarded it as king and revered it greatly. With Fat Jiao's command, Mount Wendao would tremble thrice.
Witnessing this, Ye Qing felt reassured. With Fat Jiao holding such prestige at Mount Wendao, the Sun Shooting Bow hidden here would be perfectly safe. Unless someone is incredibly reckless, no one would dare come to Mount Wendao to snatch the Sun Shooting Bow. If they dared to, entrance would only mean no exit. After all, even a powerhouse like the Corpse Ghost Dragon suffered greatly here!
Once Fat Jiao finished inspecting the snake population, it immediately extended its small claw and patted the giant snake's head, seemingly giving another command. The giant snake then shifted direction towards the other side of the cave. Despite its seemingly unwieldy swaying, its speed was exceptionally swift, matching that of a Peak Master's fast dash.
Ye Qing had no idea what Fat Jiao intended, but he still trusted Fat Jiao quite a bit. Led by the giant snake, he arrived at a slightly dark clearing at the cave's end.
