The pristine white moon hung high in the sky, casting a hazy glow like a veil of fine gauze.

The Jiuli Mountain Range was utterly silent. Not even the chirp of an insect could be heard, and the quiet was almost frightening.

Even so, Chu Guifeng sat atop a large boulder, his attention focused as he scanned the surroundings, not letting his guard down for a moment.

Suddenly.

A light breeze swept by, and a patch of grass not far ahead swayed without warning.

"Who's there?"

Chu Guifeng let out a sharp cry, his expression grim. He waited for a long time, but there was no movement. He then crept closer and pushed the grass aside with the long spear in his hand, only to find nothing there.

Only then did he let out a sigh of relief.

Just as Chu Guifeng turned to go back, an unexpected figure suddenly appeared in the spot he had just vacated.

Chu Guifeng froze for a moment. Looking closely, he realized it was Tai.

Tai slowly spoke, "Leader Chu, I'll take over the night watch now."

Chu Guifeng nodded, then patted Tai on the shoulder and reminded him not to lower his guard before returning to his tent to rest.

The bright moon hung high in the sky, dotted with countless stars. The hollow, thick with grass and trees, was lush and green, yet the surroundings remained frighteningly silent, without a single sound.

Only three Darts Masters and Tai stood guard vigilantly at the four corners of the camp.

Silently, a colorful moth suddenly flew out from the grass. It was small, no bigger than a finger, but its broad wings were a kaleidoscope of colors, as if a pair of eyes were drawn upon them.

The colorful moth fluttered slowly through the air, imperceptibly approaching one of the Darts Masters on watch. With a gentle flap of its wings, it scattered a shimmering powder.

The Darts Master swayed, suddenly feeling drowsy. Then, with a THUD, he collapsed, falling fast asleep.

The colorful moth did not stop there. It spread its wings and flew to the other two Darts Masters, releasing more of the shimmering powder.

"THUD!"

"THUD!"

Two soft thuds echoed as the other two Darts Masters also fell into a deep sleep.

Then, the colorful moth danced through the air, flying over the hollow and sprinkling its shimmering powder throughout the camp.

A chorus of snores rose and fell from the tents. Even Chu Guifeng, who had been meditating with his eyes closed, unknowingly fell fast asleep.

But just as everyone fell into a deep slumber, Tai lifted his head without any warning.

He glanced around the camp, and after confirming that everyone was asleep, he slowly stood up and walked out.

A short while later, he had walked out of the hollow and arrived at a deserted spot. He gently raised his hand, and with a faint glimmer of light, a small paper bird flew out and soared into the distance.

Only a moment later.

Tai raised both hands and bowed respectfully to the empty air. "Master."

Ripples, like those on the surface of water, spread out before him, and two figures materialized from them.

One was a tall man holding a longsword in a black scabbard. His sharp eyes were like a hawk's, and his fierce killing intent was so palpable that just standing before him sent a chill down one's spine.

The other was a skinny man with a dark expression, the corners of his mouth turned up in what seemed to be a perpetual slight smile.

Although there was a huge difference in their heights, their faces were remarkably similar. They were none other than the brothers Lei Luo and Lei Ba, infamous Demon Dao Evil Cultivators throughout the East Continent and the second and third most wanted criminals on the Celestial Profound Sacred Land's Flying Kill Order.

As for who was number one, that was, of course, Shen Daoxing.

"Jie jie jie jie! Well done, Tai!"

The sharp, sinister voice came from the skinny man. "I never thought this Chu Guifeng would hide in such a secluded place. If it weren't for you, Tai... jie jie jie jie! We really wouldn't have found this spot."

"What's the situation over there?"

A hoarse voice came from the tall man beside him.

Tai nodded respectfully. "Everything went smoothly. They have all been put to sleep by the pollen of the Illusory Winged Moth."

"Jie jie jie jie!"

Lei Luo's sharp laughter rang out. "With my little baby around, no one can escape our clutches."

It turned out that Tai had been working for Lei Luo and Lei Ba from the very beginning. Chu Guifeng and his team had been targeted the moment they entered the Jiuli Mountain Range, and the brothers were just waiting for their prey to fall into the trap.

As for Lei Luo and Lei Ba, both were Spirit Transformation Ninth Layer masters who had grasped the Realm of the Ultimate Way. Dealing with Chu Guifeng and his men would naturally be a matter of minutes for them.

In their eyes, Chu Guifeng and his group were already dead men.

The only reason they had Tai act this way was because they had always been cautious in their methods.

Lei Ba's indifferent voice sounded from the side. "Good. Then let's go see what fine things this Chu Guifeng and Qian Gui have brought us."

"Tai, you lead the way," Lei Ba said indifferently.

The bait had been out for so long; it was time to reel in the net.

"Yes."

Tai nodded respectfully and turned to lead the way for the two brothers.

But just as the three of them took a single step, they saw a debonair young master appear out of nowhere beneath the hazy moonlight.

He was dressed like a wealthy young noble, dashing and elegant, standing on the branch of an ancient tree as he looked down on the three of them with a cool indifference.

"Hm?"

Lei Ba's brow furrowed slightly. "It's someone from Chu Guifeng's team! How is there still one awake?"

Lei Luo was also slightly surprised. "Strange. My little baby has never failed before."

At that moment, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat poked its head out from Shen Daoxing's robes, zipped to the ground with a WHOOSH, and suddenly, with a BLECH, spat out a colorful moth.

"PTOOEY! PTOOEY! PTOOEY!"

'What kind of demonic beast is this? It's so disgusting! That was awful!'

The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat spat several more times, a look of utter disgust on its face.

Seeing this, Lei Luo was suddenly alarmed. "My little baby!"

With a soft SHING, Tai, who was at the front, drew his longsword and charged forward. "Master, don't worry! He's just some rich, spoiled brat! I'll just kill him."

Like a phantom, Tai's figure flickered and suddenly split into five images. An instant later, the five figures rapidly merged back into one, and in that blur of movement, Tai had already appeared before Shen Daoxing, his longsword raised high, its tip glinting coldly in the moonlight.

'A spoiled brat?'

Shen Daoxing's brow twitched.

The cold gleam from Tai's sword flared brightly as he brought it down in a cleaving strike, about to hit Shen Daoxing.

At that moment, however, Shen Daoxing made no visible move.

Aurora Sword Intent.

A speck of white light flared and vanished in an instant.

Tai's body froze. He paused, stunned, and looked down dazedly, only to see a gaping, bloody hole in his chest, dripping with fresh blood.

"Huh?"
