"So, it's less like immortality and more like a curse."

"Even their descendants are cursed. Before they turn forty, they'll completely transform into puppets, devoid of all emotion and knowing only how to kill."

Ma Wan explained slowly.

Luo An gasped and quickly dismissed the idea. "Never mind, then."

But Ma Wan paused, then added, "Oh, and I forgot to mention. The second most powerful Fierce Beast in the East Continent, Chi Yi, is also hidden in there."

Luo An was stunned. "What?! Chi Yi is in there too? Then we have to get out of here! If it shows up again, we're dead for sure, aren't we?"

With that, Luo An was about to bolt, all his earlier bravado completely forgotten.

Just then, Chu Guifeng walked over and offered everyone a faint smile. "Don't worry. The Red Land Demon Realm is perilous, a place of certain death, so we have no intention of entering. Although the Demon Realm is vast, it doesn't span the entire Jiuli Mountain Range. We'll just travel along its border to get around it. As for Chi Yi, it won't come out as long as it isn't disturbed."

"What happened with Chi Yi a few days ago was likely just an accident."

Chu Guifeng explained slowly.

Hearing this, Luo An finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Shen Daoxing slowly raised his head and looked deep into the Red Land Demon Realm. In the distance, a colossal mountain stood tall amidst a hazy fog.

He could smell the scent of blood again. There was another aura, one of slaughter and darkness, that was much fainter now—almost gone—but it hadn't dissipated completely.

Chu Guifeng added, "In any case, once we get past this Red Land Demon Realm, the rest of the journey will be much less dangerous."

The sky gradually darkened, and a smattering of stars appeared overhead. The group remained cautious, deciding not to light a fire. After a simple meal of dry rations, they each retired to their tents to rest.

Shen Daoxing, Xin, and Elder Mu shared a tent.

The night was quiet.

Next to their camp, within the Red Land Demon Realm, a vast black fog churned in the sky. One moment it looked like a leering ghoul, the next a roaring demon.

Yet, the night remained utterly silent.

The group slept peacefully.

The night passed without incident.

「The next morning」

As the sky began to lighten, the first rays of the rising sun shone down.

Inside his tent, Shen Daoxing's eyes snapped open. He smelled a thick, coppery scent of blood—far stronger than the day before.

Shen Daoxing burst out of his tent, but one glance was all it took for him to freeze in place.

A vast expanse of red met his eyes. The earth was bare, shrouded in a strange, dark fog. There wasn't a speck of green to be seen.

Shen Daoxing whipped his head around. All he could see was a world of red and heavy fog. The place looked nothing like it had when they made camp yesterday.

Clearly, they had entered the Red Land Demon Realm overnight.

Nearby, the tents were still pitched perfectly on the ground.

He didn't know if the Red Land Demon Realm had expanded overnight to envelop them or if they had long been trapped in an illusion, and the spot where they camped yesterday had been inside the Red Land Demon Realm all along.

Just then, the others in the group began to emerge from their tents, and they too saw the scene outside.

"Wh-what's going on?"

"Is this still the same place as yesterday?"

"How did we suddenly end up in the Red Land Demon Realm?"

Cries of alarm rang out.

In their shock, everyone immediately turned to look at Chu Guifeng.

But right then, Chu Guifeng looked just as stunned as they were.

Ma Wan stepped forward, frowning. "Leader Chu, what's going on?"

Chu Guifeng shook his head in confusion. "I don't know. Nothing like this has ever happened before!"

"The Red Land Demon Realm is a place of certain death! I don't want to die here!" someone suddenly exclaimed.

After a brief moment of confusion, Chu Guifeng quickly composed himself. He waved his hand to quiet the group. "Everyone, calm down! Calm down! Complaining is useless at this point. We need to figure out a way to get out of here. The Red Land Demon Realm is dangerous, but it's not inescapable."

"But how are we supposed to get out?" someone asked.

Chu Guifeng froze. He looked around, but all he saw was an endless expanse of red. There was no discernible path out.

Suddenly, Qian Gui fumbled in his robes, took out a map, and glanced at it. After just one look, he dejectedly threw the map to the ground.

He had traveled between Cangzhou and the East Continent for many years, but he had never entered this Red Land Demon Realm. How could he possibly know the way out?

The group looked around. The strange fog was churning, but one thing stood clear: a colossal mountain towering before them, unobscured by the mist. It was as if it had thrown open its gates, welcoming them inside.

"Go that way!"

Shen Daoxing suddenly spoke up from within the group, pointing away from the mountain.

Chu Guifeng nodded. 'The Demon Mountain. It's the most dangerous place in the entire Red Land Demon Realm. You can see it from far outside, so naturally, if we walk in the opposite direction, we should be able to get out.'

'And once we're out of the Red Land Demon Realm, I can find the right path to lead everyone away.'

After a brief discussion, no one objected.

Immediately, Chu Guifeng took the lead, guiding the group forward.

There wasn't a speck of green in the Red Land Demon Realm. The reddish-brown earth was completely bare, and it was quieter than the outside world. Only rows of withered trees stood, suggesting that this place was once full of life.

And so they walked, trekking across the barren land and past endless withered trees.

Before they knew it, they had been walking for a long time. The morning sun was now high overhead.

Yet the land before them remained an expanse of crimson, shrouded in a hazy, black fog that looked utterly bizarre.

Chu Guifeng led them on for a while longer until their mouths grew dry. The surroundings were still a sea of red and jagged rocks, with no escape in sight.

Just then, Chu Guifeng, who was leading the way, suddenly raised his hand high and stopped.

"What's wrong?" Ma Wan asked, stepping forward.

Chu Guifeng paused, then suddenly said, "It seems we've been walking in circles."

As he spoke, he pointed to a cairn of stacked stones on the ground.

It was a marker Chu Guifeng had made on the path earlier, but now it appeared in front of them.

Ma Wan frowned and looked behind them. The towering Demon Mountain still sat upon the crimson land, seemingly no farther away than when they had started.

Shen Daoxing had noticed it too. From the moment they set out, the intensity of the bloody scent he smelled hadn't changed in the slightest.
