Cale entered the realm. It was similar to passing through a teleportation circle which the mages of Velard used.
It was a lush land with huge mountains and trees of all sizes. Some were even cherry blossoms. He had spawned near a small lake, with cranes, squirrels on nearby trees, even butterflies.
’Such potent spiritual energy.’
This place had a dense amount of qi. If thinking of Vaeloria’s spiritual energy as ’x’, then the other continents had something around 4x to 5x. But this place—it wouldn’t be wrong to say it was 10x.
But now, his body was that of a mortal. He didn’t have much qi to fly long distances. Although his physical strength was better than most, he was still only a bit stronger than normal people.
His cultivation speed multiplier wouldn’t work here, so he was back to his own pathetic speed. Although it wouldn’t affect much this time—it was achieving realms he had been in before anyway. So he had ’experienced’ all realms till Grandmaster. It wasn’t really ’non-achievable’.
He walked, taking in the new realm he had entered.
A smile crept on his face. "Alright, let’s do it."
Weaving a few signs, he threw a mark talisman in the air. These were the times when such talismans shined the most. He had placed one on the guard of Liushen. Since he was of low cultivation around Cale’s, he definitely didn’t notice it. Now after activating it, Cale could see the route inside which they took.
This was necessary. The documents noted that there were locations where you’d encounter tornadoes or even higher-level beasts right as you spawned. Liushen was from a good background. He would definitely have his ways around such things.
And it did prove right! Cale didn’t encounter anything and kept walking for the next three hours.
"Heh, he’s my personal treasure hunter now."
As Cale walked forward, he could sense that the person marked with the talisman—the guard—had stopped alone.
’Why did he stop?’
Then he realized. Liushen left that guard to take a treasure from some place and went ahead himself! That was likely the only reason. Otherwise, well, he would have to fight both Liushen and his guard. Though Cale could still fly and they couldn’t due to cultivation reset.
’Hmm... if I use my maximum speed, I can catch up to him in under five to six hours.’
On the other side, Liushen’s guard, Ahn, jumped on the body of the black-horned bear he had just killed.
"There are so many of these monsters here. I should finish this quickly and catch up with Lord." Ahn said while wiping the sweat off his forehead. This was his thirteenth kill here.
He looked at the tomb ahead—a building made of stone and wood but still carrying a divine radiance. He had dealt with all the bigger monsters. Now only smaller ones remained. Some wouldn’t even approach him due to being scared.
Ahn looked at the massive gates made of blackwood. They were as huge as a two-storey building.
’With the help of Lord’s father’s artifact, we have ways to quickly find tombs and treasures. But since this one is demonic, Lord left this to me.’
Since having a demonic treasure could potentially harm one’s life while obtaining it, Liushen let the guard take the brunt. He walked in.
"The demonic energy here is strong. This must be an ancient city of this realm, right? Since we came a hundred years back in time, I should eat the energy-dispersing pill."
The energy-dispersing pill could disperse any one kind of energy entering your body. He dispersed the demonic energy. But he would need to keep eating these pills every thirty minutes.
The walls oozed with purple fumes of demonic qi, with many patterns and ruins engraved upon them. He pushed the main door of the house and entered inside.
"Such an eerie presence! How many people have died here?"
Inside, the place looked like a throne room. Purple stone pillars held up a vaulted ceiling, their surfaces carved with intricate demonic symbols that seemed to writhe in the dim light. Demonic tapestries hung in tatters from the walls, their fabric decayed beyond recognition. At the far end of the chamber, raised upon a dais of black marble, sat an enormous throne crafted from bones and obsidian. The craftsmanship was exquisite—terrifying, but exquisite. Every corner of the room reeked of ancient power and death.
Ahn looked around, and then his sight fell on the skeleton on the throne. The king of this nation. Just one of the small nations of this entire world which would be destroyed soon. How insignificant was this person compared to the one who left the legacy?
"Still... his death created a tomb here. I should get started and search for all treasures and mystical herbs around."
The king was still wearing a kind of protection armor. That alone was a high-tier treasure. The sword plunged into his ribcage was another treasure. From his rings to even his bones itself, which could be used as an item for alchemy—all treasures. Though none of that was this tomb’s true treasure.
"Let’s get searching... where could it be?"
Walking ahead, he gulped.
Suddenly he heard a voice.
"Sigh... you still didn’t find the tomb’s treasure. I waited for long, you know."
His heartbeat rose. Body frozen. Terror crept up his body. His spine shivered. He didn’t recognize whose voice that was until he turned and looked behind.
Cale was standing at the door, hands clasped behind his back, head tilted as if watching something amusing play out in front of him.
Ahn’s eyes widened with fear. Words which were on his tongue couldn’t come out.
"Y-you! You! How are you still alive! Didn’t you die? We saw you vanish there! H-how can you still be... no, I have to notify Lord.."
Quickly, Ahn took out a jade strip. Right as he wanted to activate it, Cale threw one of Thorned Lotus’s blades right at Ahn’s hand, and it pierced the strip. Although a jade strip, it wasn’t exactly stone. So a stronger artifact like Thorned Lotus, fused with Ashes of Undying, could easily destroy it.
"Ahh! You!..." Ahn was flabbergasted. He was scared. If someone like Cale, who could even survive that phoenix alone, was here, he wouldn’t leave alive.
Cale laughed. "Why am I here? You think it’s a coincidence? After all, you led me here~"
Ahn took a few steps back. His hand pulled out his sword. ’How... How, how! Did he use some artifact? Some tool, something?! He said I led him here, but I didn’t sense him at all. Hell, I can’t even sense him even now.’
Trembling, Ahn questioned, "You... have a presence-hiding physique?"
Cale took a few steps ahead. "Well, that’s one of the reasons too." He opened the Thorned Lotus like a fan with a flick of his wrist, right ahead of his chest. "Let’s end this quickly."
