Days passed.

Cale had already found a decent cave which could be used as his abode for the next hundred years.

For the past few days, he did nothing. Living like a mortal. Eating, sleeping, working out. But no, he didn’t practice his sword at all till now. He had to reform his foundations. Foundations aren’t built in days. His current one was thanks to the system. He himself was actually just a talentless loser who had no core and had to buy core-forming pills in his previous life.

After finishing gathering wood, he sat in the cave with the Book of Endless Refinement open before him.

It was a new technique. A cruel one, and a weird one, consisting of all five pages. With two pages having the ritual to summon a spiritual beast to dispose corpses and help refine them into spirit-gathering pills and healing pills. The other three pages had a recipe to enhance one’s talent.

"Something like this is possible?!" Cale wondered. If such a thing was possible, how was it not out? There would be millions of people with such a technique.

But then he realized. Alas, human greed. Those who have this technique and those who don’t—both will keep targeting each other. Such was the nature of humans.

"Every place with people, there are interests involved. And where there are interests, hehe... there are bound to be conflicts. If not, then it’s just that the people were too good at hiding them."

He sighed.

This technique definitely was for someone with a refining physique. Else how could one perform this with just their alchemy talent?

Sighing, he kept it away. He would do those later on.

First, he used two barrier talismans to lock the cave’s entrance. Two because he would be out for at least two to three days. But just to be safe, he had placed a huge rock ahead, letting it cover the entire entrance. No one from a distance could guess of the cave’s existence.

Taking a deep breath, "Alright! Use the inheritance ticket."

Right as he said it, the system displayed something new.

[Choose the path you wish to follow:-]

[Merciless Sword Dao]

[Ailment Poison Dao]

[Limitless Augmenting Blood Dao]

Cale was perplexed. He knew nothing about any of these, other than the fact that they were Dao paths, likely belonging to senior cultivators whose inheritance he would claim.

But since his previous life, he had already decided to follow the Dao of the Sword. Poison was great, but not omnipotent. Blood Dao was filled with blood. Every person who dealt with blood Cale knew was always someone mad or gone crazy.

"Sigh... I choose the Merciless Sword Dao."

[Entering Another mindspace...]

’Hmm? Another mindspace? Such things can be possible through the system? But wait, if I’m entering their mindspace, doesn’t this mean that the person is alive out there somewhere!’

Opening his eyes, he looked around. He was in a golden grassland, although even the sky was bright yellow. Like a world made of gold.

Suddenly, he felt a presence. A man.

Cale felt hurt. His will dwindled with just the presence of that man. He knelt, coughing blood.

"Cough... cough... what... the.."

His spirits were cracking. Headache erupting. He was feeling weak, as if to submit to the person in front of him. Hell, he didn’t even see his face till now.

[A Higher Presence is gazing upon you!]

[A Mightier Presence is gazing upon you!]

[A Higher Presence is chuckling at you!]

’H-huh??? He—he can sense me? I thought we were in a space made by the system using that person’s will. Are we in his real mindspace? How does he even allow a foreign entity to enter here? Is he that strong?’

His mind ran with implications, thinking of tens of things at the same time. Since if the person was that strong that even the system—the one who brought him here—was warning him, there was a chance this person could easily kill him.

He didn’t feel fear though. It was a chance.

Although he did not want to die in some person’s mindspace, one who he didn’t even know the name of, he did not fear death itself. He was already on his chosen path, to have no regrets even if this person killed him. And knowing he would never regress again.

So what!

Since the start of time itself, who could live forever? Only those who took risks! Even getting to live this far was enough to say he had a life.

Seeing the person’s status screen, he became more sure. This person wasn’t any normal being. Well, ’normal’ didn’t even fit him.

[Name: Rhaezel | The Origin of Ten Thousand Demons | The Demon Before Heaven | Demon Ancestor | Sin of Wrath | The First Sin]

[Age: ???]

[Cultivation: ???]

[Soul Cultivation: ???]

[Cultivation Technique: Ten Celestial Demonic Moon Arts]

[Spiritual Soul Bodies: 1,000,000+]

[Body: Primordial Demon]

Seeing this, Cale was shocked, scared, and what not. The very first heavenly demon? The founder of all demonic cults? The same guy was somehow demon ancestor and even the sin of wrath itself?

’How the hell did I even get in its mindspace? Fuck! Now I want to leave more than learn something here!’

Terrifying would be the least he could say about this. A million soul bodies? Origin of ten thousand demons? Did this guy have ten thousand demons under him?! He would definitely not mind if someone as puny as Cale entered his mind. Cale was like the size of an electron to him, dying with just a thought!

’Oh well... I am going to be his disciple in a sense after today! Why not keep calm.’

Well, he couldn’t get calm at all.

Then, scenes flashed in his mind like a movie itself. Just like when he saw the phoenix’s memories.

It was an abrupt memory, something in the middle out of nowhere!

It was likely a battle of the person called Rhaezel.

Rhaezel took a single step forward, and the cosmos itself trembled. A cascade of golden energy erupted from his footing, tearing through the dark void of space like a meteor shower. Clad in obsidian armor traced with celestial gold, his mere presence forced the laws of reality to bend around him.

Cale was shocked! These people were fighting in a realm which was like the outer space!

Before him hovered a fractured deity—a white-haired entity hiding behind a mask of cold, celestial indifference. Rhaezel did not speak. He only narrowed his piercing gaze as the fabric of the universe answered his call. With a single thought, the heavens and earth aligned to his will, summoning a golden dragon of elemental force that coiled around his surging aura.

The clash of their domains sent shockwaves through the eternal stillness of the galaxy. Infinity itself seemed to hold its breath as Rhaezel raised his hand, channeling a myriad of elemental laws into a singular, devastating focal point. He unleashed his might, and the sheer magnitude of his strike violently shattered the boundaries of time and space.

The dimensional void splintered like fragile glass around his radiant figure, raining cosmic shards into the abyss. He stood as an undisputed sovereign amidst the celestial ruins, his golden light completely untouched by the swirling chaos. No magic, no divine decree could withstand the crushing weight of his power.

Descending into the eye of the cosmic storm, Rhaezel wove intricate arrays of deep violet cosmic energy and blinding gold, anchoring his soul in the turbulent void. When his radiant, golden eyes finally snapped open, a suffocating, absolute domain was established in the endless dark.

A monstrous shadow eclipsed the stars, revealing the terrifying maw of an unfathomable, red-eyed abyss dragon. Yet, sword in hand, Rhaezel stood as a solitary, brilliant beacon against the encroaching despair. He was an unstoppable cultivator at the peak of martial perfection, entirely ready to cut down the heavens themselves.

Scene shifted! Another memory!

Blood trickled down the woman’s porcelain chin. A stark, crimson contrast against her pale skin and dark, disheveled hair. She lay battered on the scarred, grassy earth, her delicate ornaments tarnished by the devastating toll of the battle. Despite her grievous injuries, she lifted her gaze with a defiant, unbroken spirit toward the skies above.

The heavens tore open as Rhaezel descended, completely eclipsing the battlefield in a blinding trail of sovereign golden light. He plummeted like a falling star—a solitary figure radiating an oppressive, suffocating aura that forced the very air to tremble. His arrival was a terrifyingly silent, weightless glide that demanded absolute reverence from the earth below.

His dark hair whipped wildly in the roaring wind of his own creation, framing a face chiseled from cold, unyielding jade. Rhaezel’s piercing, icy eyes locked onto the distant enemies. His expression entirely devoid of mercy or hesitation. He was the undisputed apex of this world, carrying himself with a majestic, devastating grace that shattered any hope his foes still clung to.

Behind him, the fabric of reality shattered to reveal a sprawling, ethereal golden tree manifesting in the empty void. Its luminous, crystalline branches spanned the horizon, weeping a torrential rain of pure, unadulterated spiritual energy over the ruined landscape. The magnificent construct pulsed with ancient power, resonating perfectly with the violent, rhythmic surging of Rhaezel’s core.

With a casual, commanding flick of his wrist, the true depth of his monstrous strength erupted into the mortal plane. A colossal, multi-armed fiery avatar roared into existence, forged entirely from searing, golden flames and indestructible cosmic armor. The sheer heat of its manifestation incinerated the surrounding atmosphere, casting a terrifying, god-like shadow over the entire valley.

Rhaezel drifted effortlessly into the very heart of the blazing titan, perfectly framed against its radiant, armored chest. Hovering within the inferno, his calm, indifferent gaze promised absolute annihilation to anyone foolish enough to stand against him. This was not a mere display of technique. It was a divine execution, choreographed to absolute perfection.

Cale’s eyes widened, excitement, shock, reverence all at the same time.

"This is the power of real immortals! Such unfathomable strength where concept of cultivation doesn’t even apply to them! A being with the power to destroy continents with just a flick of their hand!"
