Barely a few minutes after entering the veil of darkness, Grey had already been attacked by several mutated creatures that would have been incredibly dangerous and lethal in the peripheral.

Thankfully, these existences did not seem too keen on pursuing him for long. After Grey killed several of them and quickly fled, only a few continued to chase him beyond the range of the strange trees from which they had emerged.

The few that were hell-bent on killing him were eventually finished off by Grey’s shadow and his poison.

However, as soon as the threat was neutralized, Grey did not linger.

He immediately continued running without looking back.

His expression gradually became colder as he paid greater attention to his surroundings. Every step he took was accompanied by a heightened sense of vigilance. His spiritual sense constantly spread outward, carefully probing the darkness around him.

The deeper he went, the more dangerous the environment felt.

The corrosion here was far more noticeable than in the peripheral.

The air itself seemed to contain traces of corrosive power. Even breathing felt slightly different, as if something invisible was constantly brushing against his body and trying to seep into his flesh.

However, the trees and plants seemed to have long since grown accustomed to this environment.

They had adapted to the corrosion.

Some of them possessed twisted trunks covered in strange bumps and black veins, while others had leaves that looked almost like pieces of rotten flesh. There were even plants that moved slightly despite the absence of wind, their roots seemingly capable of sensing the presence of nearby living beings.

As Grey moved through the area, he saw several bizarre sights.

At first, he thought he was seeing things.

A head was rolling down from the top of a hill.

It bounced off the uneven ground before landing on a cluster of tall shrubs. The vegetation bent beneath its weight, but the head merely rolled over them and continued downward.

When it finally reached the bottom of the hill, something even stranger happened.

The head suddenly stopped.

Then, as if it possessed a body that Grey could not see, it stood upright.

It began climbing back up the hill.

After reaching the top, it rolled down once again.

Again and again.

While this was happening, Grey heard playful giggles coming from the head.

The sound was innocent.

Almost childish.

But for some reason, hearing those giggles in this gloomy and terrifying environment caused a chill to run down Grey’s spine.

When he finally saw its appearance clearly, his pupils contracted slightly.

It was the enormous head of a newborn baby.

Its eyes were wide open, and its eyelids seemed incapable of covering them completely. It was completely bald, and its complexion was terribly pale, almost as if all the blood had been drained from its body.

Yet despite its grotesque appearance, the head behaved like an ordinary child playing a game.

It rolled down the hill.

Then it climbed back up.

Then it rolled down again.

Every time it reached the bottom, playful giggles would echo through the surroundings.

But there was something even more terrifying about it.

Every now and then, the newborn baby’s head would cough.

"Cough!"

With each cough, a cloud of black powder would erupt from its mouth and spread through the air.

The powder slowly drifted downward, settling onto the vegetation and ground.

When some of this powder floated toward Grey, he immediately retreated without hesitation.

His instincts were screaming at him not to allow even the smallest amount of it to touch his body.

And Grey’s caution proved to be correct.

The instant a few particles touched the strange plants on the ground, they began to wither.

Their leaves shriveled.

Their stems turned black.

Their roots rapidly decayed.

Within the span of a few breaths, the plants had been completely reduced to dust.

Grey’s pupils contracted.

His heart trembled intensely.

That black powder was terrifying.

It did not simply contain poison.

It possessed a bizarre corrosive authority capable of directly destroying living matter.

Yet the giant head continued to play without a care in the world.

It rolled down the hill again, giggling happily as black powder continued to spill from its mouth.

Any mutated animal that approached the area and saw the head of the child would immediately turn tail and run.

Their instincts seemed to recognize the danger far better than Grey’s eyes could.

However, they always seemed to be noticed by the newborn baby’s head.

Whenever one of the mutated creatures tried to escape, the head would turn in its direction.

It would then giggle.

"Hehehe..."

Afterward, it would simply blow a puff of wind.

The mutated creature would instantly begin to wilt.

Its flesh would rapidly lose its vitality.

Its body would become shriveled and dry before collapsing onto the ground.

In just a few moments, another life would disappear.

Grey watched this scene from afar, his expression becoming increasingly solemn.

The method of death was extremely strange.

There was no obvious attack.

No powerful energy fluctuation.

No visible technique.

Yet the moment that strange wind touched the mutated creatures, their vitality seemed to be completely extinguished.

The danger Grey felt in his heart became even more intense.

He had already encountered many terrifying creatures since entering the Corroded Zone.

But this newborn baby’s head was different.

It was not simply powerful.

It was bizarre.

And in a place like this, Bizarenness itself could be more terrifying than strength.

Just as Grey was about to leave the area, however, another strange existence appeared.

Grey’s expression immediately changed.

It was a humanoid being with extremely long arms and legs.

Its limbs were almost twice as long as those of a normal person, giving its body an unnatural and distorted appearance.

It moved strangely, its elongated limbs swaying with every step.

Grey could not see its face properly because it was concealed by the darkness.

But even from the vague outline, he was certain that the existence possessed a grotesque appearance that would make anyone retch.

The humanoid existence carried a basket made from wooden mesh.

It slowly approached while sprinkling some strange dust onto the ground.

Wherever the dust landed, something incredible happened.

The barren ground immediately began to change.

Roots rapidly emerged from beneath the soil.

Flowers sprouted.

Vines twisted upward.

In just a few moments, an area that had been dead and barren became filled with strange vegetation.

However, these flowers were all black.

Their petals were dark enough to almost absorb the surrounding light, and a thick stench of blood emanated from them.

Grey narrowed his eyes.

Two completely different authorities.

One represented decay.

The other represented a strange form of life.

When the two existences finally came face to face, the newborn baby’s head stopped playing.

Its childish giggling disappeared.

The enormous head slowly turned toward the humanoid existence.

An annoyed expression appeared on its face.

"You’re not playing with me! Wah!!"

As soon as it said that, black particles erupted from its body.

They flew in all directions like a storm, rapidly sweeping toward the humanoid existence.

However, the humanoid existence did not flinch.

It merely raised one of its elongated arms.

With a simple wave, the basket flew into the air.

The dust inside scattered in all directions.

A strange scene immediately unfolded.

Wherever the black powder touched the ground, everything began to decay.

Plants withered.

Trees dried.

The earth became lifeless.

But before the decay could spread too far, the dust from the basket would land on those exact areas.

Immediately, roots would emerge.

Flowers would bloom.

Life would flourish once again.

It was as if the two powers were constantly fighting against each other.

Decay.

Life.

Decay.

Life.

Neither side was willing to yield.

Grey watched the scene with a solemn expression.

"It is as if these existences are... battling to see whose Bizarenness is stronger."

The thought sent a chill through his heart.

This was no longer a battle between cultivators.

There were no techniques being exchanged.

No profound laws.

No spiritual treasures.

These existences were simply using their own bizarre authorities to counter each other.

Eventually, the dust filled the air.

Everywhere the black powder had caused decay, black flowers had already begun to bloom.

The entire area became covered in strange black vegetation, and the stench of blood grew increasingly intense.

The newborn baby’s head suddenly began to wail.

"I won’t play anymore! You hurt me!"

Its voice was filled with the grievance of an actual child.

But Grey did not relax.

Instead, his expression became even more solemn.

The next moment, the newborn baby’s head rolled toward the humanoid existence at an unbelievable speed.

Boom!

In the blink of an eye, the two existences clashed.

Black powder and strange dust erupted in all directions.

The surrounding trees were the ones that suffered the most damage.

Wherever the black powder landed, decay immediately spread.

Trees withered.

Branches crumbled.

The earth turned black.

But immediately afterward, dust from the basket would fall over the decayed areas.

Roots would emerge.

Flowers would flourish.

Life would bloom once again.

Then the black powder would descend.

Decay would follow.

Then life would return.

The cycle continued again and again.

Grey stood far away and watched the terrifying battle unfold.

Despite being separated from the battlefield by a considerable distance, he still felt intense fear toward these two existences.

His body remained tense.

His spiritual sense was constantly alert.

At any moment, he was prepared to flee.

Even now, he did not feel safe.

In the end, the newborn baby was countered by the humanoid existence and sent flying.

Its enormous head rolled through the air before crashing into the ground several times.

Wherever it passed, decay followed.

The already gloomy Corroded Zone became even darker.

At this moment, the newborn baby’s head was completely covered in black flora and vegetation.

The strange flowers grew across its pale skin, making its already grotesque appearance even more terrifying.

Yet the newborn baby seemed to care about none of this.

It simply rolled away while wailing loudly like an actual newborn.

"Wah! Wah!"

The sound echoed through the darkness.

However, the humanoid existence was also in a precarious situation.

Many parts of its elongated body were covered in decay.

Its flesh had become dark and shriveled, while some parts of its limbs seemed to be on the verge of completely falling apart.

Even the wooden basket in its hand had begun to dry out, looking like dead wood that had been left beneath the sun for countless years.

The humanoid existence looked to be on the verge of death.

But even so, Grey did not attempt to kill it.

He had no intention of getting involved in the battle between these two bizarre existences.

Who knew what would happen if he killed one of them?

Perhaps the remaining existence would immediately target him.

Or perhaps an even more terrifying consequence would occur.

Grey was not willing to gamble with his life.

Instead, seeing that the battle had finally ended, he immediately took the opportunity to flee as far away as possible.

He did not look back.

Only after he had traveled a considerable distance did he finally slow down.

Grey glanced back at the direction from which he had come.

His expression was solemn.

"The bizarre existences in this Corroded Zone are even more dangerous and bizarre. They also seem to have their own bizarre authorities, which they use to fight and kill each other."

Grey’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"This is... not a place for cultivators like me."
