"Girlfriend, huh?" Valerie muttered with a smirk that was impossible to keep off of her face. All of her energy was instead being spent holding in her laughter.
She glanced at Percy, hoping to see the same thing from him or maybe an expression of disgust, that would have been strangely cute. But instead his face was completely straight, with his eyes a slight bit distance.
Poor thing. He no doubt had to put up with this for so long at the secret training camp that he learned to retreat to a happy place in his mind. Understandable, although not as entertaining as she had hoped.
Still, it was nothing that could match the delusion happening in front of her. Now that was real entertainment. But there was also a limit to this delusion.
"Alright Listen, Karen was it?" Valerie asked boredly
"Kaleigh!" She hissed back
"Yeah I don’t really care. Listen Karen. I don’t know what goes through that sad and deranged little head, nor do I really care what your supervisors or management team or whatever say. But you’re not really his girlfriend.
You’re a creepy, insane bitch of a stalker who really needs to leave before I slap the shit out of her and show her the other uses for a cripples cane. Okay? Okay, Great. Now leave us alone."
Valerie waved off the mental patient with a roll of the eyes, before grabbing Percy’s arm and pulling him away. However they barely made it two steps before a perfectly manicured hand clamped onto Percy’s shoulder and dragged him back.
The vile witch draped herself across Percy, one hand stroking his chest whilst the other twirled his hair around her finger.
Her garish sparkly pink dress was skimpy, and dare she say slutty, enough that it was already a desperate ploy for attention. But throwing herself at someone like this was beyond pathetic.
She made a pouty face that she probably thought was cute, but really just gave Valerie a better target to punch, as she spoke in a childish tone.
"Princey... How could you let her say such mean things about me. Tell her she’s wrong. Tell the cripple bitch that I am your girlfriend and that you love me more than anything."
Valerie was expecting Percy to crash out, to go wild and throw her out of the nearest window based on how he had reacted the last time she had touched him, nevermind groped him like some play thing.
However the smirk that was already creeping onto Valerie’s face quickly fell as Percy did none of that. He didn’t throw, he didn’t shake her off. He barely blinked, as he stood completely still with a distant look in his eyes.
"I... I love her... She’s my Queen..." He mumbled, his brow creasing as the words escaped his lips. But they didn’t sound coerced or forced, although they certainly didn’t have the conviction one would expect from a confession like that.
Kaleigh gave Valerie a shit eating smile, wiggling her head in snarky victory as she continued to swirl her finger around Percy’s hair, as a small trace of pink mana slipped off of her finger mid-twirl.
Valerie’s eyes exploded with rage, and not just because Kaleigh was holding Percy’s head and dragging him down into a disgusting, soul sucking kiss.
Mana flowed into her arm on instinct, flooding her withering muscles as she swung her arm outwards. The back of her hand connected with the witches kissing pout before there was a sickening crunch and the pink witch was thrown a few metres backwards.
Whether it was because of some unconscious restraint in the back of Valerie’s mind, or the fact that this woman had so much surgery that even her jaw was more metal than bone, nothing of Kaleigh’s was broken.
Although there was the satisfying sound of her screech of horror, as blood spilled from her mouth and nose, and a single tooth rested in her cupped palm.
Percy looked at his ’Queen’ that he supposedly loved so much sititng on the ground, screaming in pain and wailing like a hysterical toddler. He didn’t make a move to help her, instead simply frowning at her in dream-like confusion, before turning to Valerie as light returned to his eyes.
"Y-you’re hurt! Let me fix that."
He quickly cupped Valerie’s broken hand in his, forcing her to hiss in pain. But just as the soft healing light started to emanate from his hands, Valerie touched his cheek with her other hand and drew his attention away,
"Princess. I need you to ignore that right now and just look me in the eyes."
"What? But it’s broken!" Percy insisted, turning away from her head. "Why would I just ignore that? It will take two seconds, if you just sit still and let me-"
He was cut off by Valerie shifting his head again, her thumb gently stroking his cheek.
"Percy. Please, listen to me. This is serious. Please just trust me and look into my eyes."
"Serious... Like a headache?" He asked with a slight smirk.
Valerie laughed softly, "Yeah, exactly. As serious as that."
Percy nodded, ignoring his ’Queen’ as she screeched his name, as he lifted his head and stared into Valerie’s eyes.
Ignoring the pain not only in her hand, but from the muscles in her arm that were convulsing and devouring themselves, Valerie’s eyes turned fully red and began to glow softly.
Percy’s smile sank from his face and his body turned limp as he fell deep into the Hypnotic Abyss of Valerie’s eyes and found himself sucked into a deep trance.
However, for reasons that no one could not explain or have expected, he was not the only one that fell into the Abyss.
Valerie blinked softly, regaining control of her body before she glanced around her. Her brow instantly creased as she began to whip around frantically, desperately searching for anything familiar or that made sense.
Percy was gone, Kaleigh had disappeared and every other party goer had vanished alongside them. In fact, the entire party had completely vanished, as Valerie no longer stood in a grandiose ballroom.
Instead she found herself standing upon the surface of a lake of shimmering, glistening water that stretched on as far as the eye could see in every direction, with no escape in sight.
