As soon as he stepped out, Vikram scanned the perimeter wall with a hint of suspicion.
Normally, there should have been a pile of zombies accumulated, making it exceptionally noisy.
But today, it was eerily quiet outside.
"What’s going on?" The three of them came out of the van, to look at the surroundings.
The result was unexpected: overnight, all the zombies outside had vanished without a trace.
"Oh! That’s great! There must have been lightning last night. And those ghastly things must have been struck dead by last night’s lightning."
Seeing the charred marks on the ground, Anjali immediately thought of the thunder which happened a few days ago.
Vikram frowned slightly. He hadn’t known that lightning had occurred last night, but looking at the situation, he understood that it must have happened.
Moreover, the lightning strikes must have been frequent and varied in intensity, indicating that they hadn’t struck the same location repeatedly, which could be confirmed by the charred marks scattered across the ground.
By this point, the number of zombies had already reached a level where a zombie horde could form at any moment.
Vikram didn’t believe that a few lightning bolts could have eliminated them all.
Dismissing the thought, since there were no zombies, it was not his issue.
Since they have the toxin removing orb, they also didn’t need to worry about the black mist, so the three climbed back on the van.
Before leaving, he checked the fuel tank; there were still thirty liters left, enough for several trips to the factory.
The black fog, which obscured eighty percent of visibility, rushed over him, and Vikram, sitting in the driver’s seat, could barely see more than fifty meters ahead.
Strangely, even though his vehicle made so much noise when starting, no zombies emerged from the black fog.
He secretly activated the biological detector, and upon seeing the feedback, Vikram’s pupils instantly contracted to pinpricks.
"Go, Vikram! What if someone else takes the things in the factory if we’re late?" Anjali reached out from the back seat, rubbed Vikram’s shoulder, and urged him on.
Vikram, in the driver’s seat, didn’t respond, but instead murmured to himself, "Gone?"
"What’s gone?" The two in the back seat stared at Vikram’s surprised face, a hint of confusion flashing in their eyes.
"The zombies are all gone," Vikram slowly said.
Anjali thought Vikram was still thinking about the disappearance of the zombies near the wall, and shrugged, "Maybe some clueless Survivor passed by last night and led all those zombies away. What’s so strange about that?"
"Besides, isn’t it a good thing that the zombies are gone? It’ll save us a lot of trouble."
Shaking his head, Vikram slowly drove the vehicle towards the factory.
The range of the biological detector was a full 20 kilometers, and apart from the red dots representing Survivors, the entire scan only showed a few scattered glimmers.
Vikram didn’t know if those glimmers represented zombies, but the image reflected already indicated many problems.
Most of the zombies had truly vanished overnight.
Along the way, there were no zombies, no accidents, and it was even smoother than reaching the factory before yesterday’s natural disaster.
But when Vikram drove the vehicle near the factory, his expression stiffened.
Through the car window, he saw that the roller shutter door was already occupied by two Survivors.
As the three of them looked at the Survivors outside, the other party naturally noticed the van Vikram was in.
The two exchanged glances, a hint of surprise flashing in their eyes, and immediately walked towards Vikram’s van .
The Survivor walking in front looked at the large vehicle, a hint of greed showing in his eyes, then spoke, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
In contrast, the other Survivor’s tone was much worse.
"Why are you wasting so much time talking to them?"
"You three, get out of the car!"
Apparently relying on something, this scowling Survivor wasn’t afraid of the intimidating van at all.
Seeing no reaction from Vikram, the scowling man put his hands on his hips and came to the driver’s side window.
Pressing against the window, he glared at Vikram, pointed at Vikram’s head in the driver’s seat, and said arrogantly, "Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear me tell you to get out of the car?"
As he spoke, he extended his right leg and kicked the van door hard.
However, this was not a simple van, its defensive capabilities were even tougher for the Zombies.
That kick not only failed to cause any damage to the car door but instead, a familiar crisp sound was heard.
"Hiss!" The scowling Survivor gasped, his entire face contorted.
He hadn’t held back his strength with that kick, and he had fractured his own toe bone.
Immediately, he writhed on the ground in pain.
Vikram sneered, then opened the car door and got out.
The moment the car door opened, it also slammed forcefully into the forehead of the scowling Survivor who was rolling on the ground.
"Bang!"
His head and the metal car door made intimate contact, and a crisp sound immediately rang out.
This wasn’t all; Vikram, using the exact same motion that the arrogant fellow had used to kick the car door, kicked the other person squarely in the face.
The survivor on the ground was instantly sent flying two meters by Vikram’s casual kick.
When he looked up again, two streams of blood were already flowing from his nose, and two of his front teeth were missing.
"You... Don’t you know who I am? I’m Snape’s nephew."
The other person reacted, quickly blocking the scowling Survivor in front of Vikram.
"Brat, if you know what’s good for you, scram. This place has been taken over by Green Wind Shelter."
"Don’t think that just because you’re driving a big metal box, you can run wild here. Our Shelter can crush you as easily as an ant."
In fact, the survivor standing in front, the moment he saw this van, knew that Vikram and the two women were not to be trifled with.
After all, in these times, people had heard of survivors finding usable bicycles and the like at resource points, but no one had heard of anyone collecting a van.
He hadn’t stopped the scowling Survivor’s shouting entirely because the other party was Silas, the nephew of Snape, the leader of the Shelter.
Although he was also a high-ranking member, his treatment was incomparable to Silas’s.
In the entire Shelter, apart from Snape and the Shelter’s second-in-command, almost no one could control him.
Without a clear understanding of the other party’s strength, he now only hoped that Vikram and the two women would be sensible and leave.
Who knew that before Vikram could speak, Silas, behind him, stood up first.
Blood flowing into his mouth brought a metallic taste, and Silas, with his gapped teeth, angrily said, "Leave? You hit me and still want to leave?"
"You bastard, if you don’t hand over all the good things in your bag to me today, don’t even think about leaving a single step."
Saying that, he wiped the nosebleed from his face and turned to rush into the factory to call for people.
He had originally just been bored staying in the Shelter, so he followed the team out to explore for supplies.
If Vikram and the two women had merely arrived here on foot, Silas wouldn’t even have bothered to look at them.
But Vikram arriving in this flashy van was different.
Silas, spoiled by Snape in the Shelter, didn’t care about the other party’s strength at all; the moment he saw the vehicle, he wanted to claim it for himself.
He had thought the other party would obediently hand over the van upon hearing the name of Green Wind Shelter.
After all, he often relied on his status to run wild outside.
He just hadn’t expected to encounter a tough opponent like Vikram today.
Vikram sneered, watching Silas sprint into the factory to call for people.
Initially, he couldn’t be bothered to argue with him, planning to drive the car to the back of the factory and sneak in.
But now that he knew from Silas’s mouth that they were from Green Wind Shelter, there was no need for that anymore. (I have made a few mistakes, I have named it Green Wind Shelter, where you find out, point them out, I will correct them.)
With the powers he has, he could now say that the thing he feared least were these ordinary Survivors.
Even Epic-level Zombies couldn’t withstand him, less than these weaklings, whose physiques were no more than thirty, could.
Only three people were on this outing, so normally they couldn’t bring back too many things, but the members of Green Wind Shelter in the factory behind made him crack a smile.
The Trading Market’s bug couldn’t be used, but now his Treehouse Storage is directly connected to him and the most important he has Space Mage Sprout.
With a smile, Vikram put his car into his spatial storage and stood still, waiting for a moment.
Soon, several figures could be heard approaching from the factory behind.
Walking at the very front was a middle-aged man.
The man was tall and burly, with a square, resolute face, exuding an air of authority without needing to be angry.
The moment he arrived, his hawk-like gaze had already locked onto Vikram.
He frowned upon seeing Vikram, who looked calm and composed, and the two expressionless female Survivors behind him.
"Uncle Argus, it’s this little bastard! He tried to break into the factory just now."
"Filch Bro and I risked our lives to stop him, and even mentioned the Shelter’s name, but this kid wouldn’t listen and punched me into this state."
"Uncle Argus, you must avenge me!"
At this moment, Silas, cowering behind Uncle Argus, pointed at Vikram and exaggeratedly recounted what had just happened.
For Silas to trust him so much, it was clear that Argus was the second-in-command of Green Wind Shelter.
Upon hearing this, Argus immediately turned his gaze back to Vikram, but unlike the slight curiosity he had shown before, this time it was a glare of pure anger.
"So you’re the kid who wants to break into this resource point?"
"Don’t you know we’re from Green Wind Shelter?" Argus slowly stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Vikram, and he had already drawn his weapon, a common metal long saber.
"Of course I know. I even know your Shelter’s leader, Snape."
"I also know that your Shelter has a high-ranking member named Scott, right?"
Facing Argus’s angry glare, Vikram remained calm, even offering a polite smile.
Argus was stunned by these words.
Many Survivors in the vicinity knew Snape’s name, but for this person to know about Scott, a high-ranking member who rarely showed his face, was quite intriguing.
Moreover, Scott was currently missing, which made the person in front of him even more suspicious.
However, he still didn’t put away his weapon and continued, "Heh heh, since you know, how dare you come here to court trouble?"
In this area, the strength of Green Wind Shelter was almost a crushing blow to other Shelters.
The middle-aged man called Argus simply didn’t believe Vikram could do anything to their shelter.
Not to mention, he himself was the second in command of the Shelter.
With his physique reaching over forty, he feared no Survivor.
"Courting trouble?"
"Why do I feel like your boss is the one who loves to court trouble the most?"
"He’s sent people to my shelter to cause trouble several times without success, yet he keeps at it relentlessly. I truly admire his persistence."
"Those who know would think he’s looking for trouble with me; those who don’t might think he’s here to deliver supplies."
Vikram ungracefully picked his ear and pulled out a bundle of homemade explosives.
"Does this look familiar?"
