Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System

Chapter 353: Going Toward Green Tribe Shelter

After breakfast, Divya and Vikram returned outside to continue practicing her Tsunami Wave ability.

After repeatedly using it in battle yesterday, she had already become much more proficient at controlling the ability.

Now, her goal was to further develop its applications.

Yesterday’s battle against the Venomous Spider had given both her and Vikram a great deal of inspiration.

Since the Tsunami Wave could freely change the shape of water, its potential uses were far greater than simply launching water blades.

Especially with the insect plague approaching, developing more defensive techniques was extremely important.

Divya thought for a moment. "Yesterday, I used the water to trap the spider..."

"If that’s possible..." With a thought, a large sphere of water appeared before her.

This time, she didn’t condense it into a blade. Instead, she slowly spread the water apart.

Gradually, the water transformed into a thin, translucent sheet.

Under Vikram’s attentive gaze, Divya carefully manipulated the sheet of water, slowly wrapping it around her body.

A few moments later, a layer of flowing water completely covered her like a transparent suit of armor.

Seeing this, a smile immediately appeared on Vikram’s face.

"It worked. As expected. This can become your natural armor. The greatest advantage isn’t just the protection itself."

"Since you control the water completely, you can instantly concentrate all of it onto the point that’s about to be attacked."

"In theory, your defensive power should be much greater than keeping the water evenly spread across your body."

Hearing Vikram’s explanation, Divya nodded.

She spent the next two hours continuously practicing.

At first, every time she moved, the water armor would lose its shape.

However, after countless attempts, the flowing water gradually began moving naturally with her body.

Whether she walked, ran, or turned around, the water remained tightly wrapped around her instead of being left behind.

Seeing that her control had become much steadier, Vikram finally spoke.

"Let’s test its defensive capability."

He called Ron over, "Throw a stone at Divya with your full strength."

Ron was startled, "Boss... are you sure?"

"It’s fine. Just throw it."

Seeing both Vikram and Divya nodding, Ron picked up a fist-sized stone.

Taking a deep breath, he threw it with all his strength.

The stone whistled through the air toward Divya.

The moment it was about to hit her abdomen, Divya focused her mind.

The flowing water covering her body instantly surged toward the impact point.

Plop! The stone struck the water armor.

Instead of hitting her directly, it was cushioned by the flowing water before bouncing harmlessly onto the ground.

Ron stared at the scene in disbelief.

"...It actually blocked it."

Divya lowered her head and looked at the rippling water armor surrounding her body, a smile slowly appearing on her face.

"It really works."

"Brother Vikram, that move was incredible. If my stone had hit an ordinary person, it would’ve at least left a bloody hole."

"But it couldn’t even touch Sister Divya."

Ron said in disbelief as he stepped forward to examine the flowing water armor surrounding Divya.

Vikram smiled.

"Don’t be jealous. Once our territory develops further, you’ll have opportunities like this too."

He had already decided that, for a long time to come, collecting Legendary-grade Orbs with special abilities would become one of his priorities.

Even if his companions couldn’t fully utilize them yet due to their low physiques, the Orbs wouldn’t expire.

Keeping them within his territory was far better than allowing them to fall into an enemy’s hands.

"Hehe, thank you, Big Brother!" Ron grinned.

After a few more simple experiments, the three returned to the Shelter.

Although Divya didn’t appear exhausted on the surface, she could clearly feel her thoughts becoming sluggish.

The more she used the Tsunami Wave, the heavier her mind became.

Seeing this, Vikram nodded inwardly.

During the past two days, after unlocking the Spirit attribute himself and comparing it with Divya’s condition, he had gradually understood how it worked.

Spirit Power actually existed in everyone’s body.

It simply wasn’t displayed on the status panel before the four-dimensional physique reached one hundred points.

Until then, Survivors could only sense its existence through symptoms such as mental exhaustion, dizziness, headaches, or even fainting after repeatedly using special abilities.

Only after all four physique attributes exceeded one hundred would the Spirit attribute officially appear on the status panel, allowing a Survivor to directly observe their Spirit Power, recovery speed, and consumption.

In other words, Divya already possessed Spirit Power.

She simply couldn’t see it yet.

As for consumption, it varied greatly depending on the ability.

For example, Night Vision was almost like a passive ability.

The amount of Spirit Power it consumed was so little that its recovery speed easily exceeded its consumption, allowing it to remain active almost indefinitely.

However, Tsunami Wave was completely different.

Every movement of the water, every change in its shape, and every attack consumed Spirit Power.

The more complex the manipulation, the greater the consumption.

The farther the water moved from its user, the more Spirit Power was required to maintain control.

Vikram had already tested this himself.

At present, Divya could reliably control water within a radius of about twenty meters.

Beyond that distance, her control rapidly weakened, causing the water to scatter onto the ground.

Fortunately, most battles against Zombies took place within ten meters.

Within that range, the ability remained highly practical.

Still, even then, continuously attacking consumed far more Spirit Power than simply maintaining the defensive water armor around her body. The armor required only constant maintenance, while every offensive technique demanded precise control and far greater mental exertion.

After a simple lunch, Vikram went to Territory 3.

The newly recruited members of Green Wind Shelter had already settled down under Ron and Percy’s arrangements.

Seeing Vikram arrive, everyone immediately stood up.

Vikram swept his gaze across the crowd before speaking calmly.

"I need someone who knows the current situation inside the Green Wind Shelter."

The group looked at one another before a man in his thirties slowly stepped forward.

"Boss... I know. My name is Rocky."

Vikram nodded. "Tell me everything."

Rocky took a deep breath before beginning.

"Since Snape died, Green Wind Shelter has completely fallen into chaos."

"The higher-ups have been fighting among themselves over who should become the next leader."

"Many small shelters that were previously forced to submit to Green Wind Shelter have already declared their independence."

"Some have even joined other forces. Our shelter has almost no morale left."

He paused before continuing.

"Yesterday, Blue Frost Shelter launched a full-scale attack."

"They aren’t much stronger than Green Wind Shelter in terms of numbers, but our people have already lost the will to fight."

"Most of the higher-ups are only thinking about taking the warehouse supplies and escaping."

"If Blue Frost hadn’t blocked all the escape routes... They would’ve already abandoned the shelter."

Vikram nodded slightly. Everything was almost exactly as he had expected.

Rocky hesitated for a moment before clenching his fists.

"Boss... I have one request. My parents... my younger sister... and many of my friends are still inside the Green Wind Shelter."

"They aren’t part of the higher-ups. They’re ordinary survivors."

"I hope... I hope you can save them."

The surrounding Green Wind members also lowered their heads. Many of their family members were still trapped inside the shelter.

Hearing Rocky’s plea, Vikram remained silent for several seconds.

Finally, he said, "I can save them."

The Green Wind survivors immediately looked up hopefully.

"But remember... I’m not doing this because I’m kind. I’m doing it because those people may become members of my territory in the future."

"As long as they’re willing to obey my rules after I rescue them... I’ll give them a chance to live."

Rocky’s eyes immediately turned red.

"Thank you, Boss! We’ll definitely persuade them. They’ll follow your rules."

Vikram waved his hand.

"Good. There’s no time to waste."

He looked toward Divya.

"Come with me."

Then his gaze shifted toward the Phantom Treekin quietly standing nearby.

"Phantom, you’re coming too."

The Phantom Treekin silently nodded before disappearing into the shadows.

Finally, Vikram looked back at the former Green Wind members.

"Those of you who know the layout of Green Wind Shelter... Come with me and lead the way."

"We’re going to bring your families home."

The Green Wind survivors’ faces immediately filled with excitement.

Without another word, they quickly prepared themselves before following Vikram, Divya, and the Phantom Treekin toward the distant Green Wind Shelter.

---

At noon, Vikram and his group finally arrived near the Green Wind Shelter.

Strictly speaking, this was Vikram’s first visit to his arch-rival’s headquarters, even though the man himself had long since died.

"Tsk. That old geezer really lived up to his reputation. He exploited every shelter within several kilometers, and all that wealth ended up here."

Looking at the massive shelter before him, even Vikram couldn’t help but sigh.

The geographical location of Green Wind Shelter wasn’t particularly outstanding, but its architecture was undoubtedly among the finest Vikram had seen so far.

The entire shelter had been built in the style of a grand European manor castle.

Its outer walls were constructed from high-grade alloy, and for the sake of appearance, Snape had even ordered them to be repainted, making the entire fortress look majestic despite being located in the middle of the Wasteland.

It was obvious that an enormous amount of manpower and resources had been invested into its construction.

Unfortunately... No matter how magnificent the shelter was, it couldn’t escape the fate of decline after Snape’s death.

At this moment, Vikram, Divya, the Phantom Treekin, and several former Green Wind members hid behind a ruined building, quietly observing the battlefield ahead.

Outside the manor, the two factions were confronting one another.

On Green Wind Shelter’s side stood several remaining high-ranking officials.

Most of them were middle-aged, and each possessed a physique slightly above fifty points.

Meanwhile, the formation of Blue Frost Shelter was much more orderly.

Their members varied greatly in age, from young adults to veterans, but they stood in disciplined ranks.

Leading them was a young man who appeared to be no older than thirty.

His physique had already surpassed sixty points.

Although he looked young, his calm expression and steady gaze gave him a maturity far beyond his age.

After a brief silence, the young man spoke calmly.

"You’ve held out long enough. Open the gates and hand over the supplies. You can leave with your lives."

"We only want Green Wind Shelter’s resources. We have no interest in chasing every one of you down."

One of Green Wind Shelter’s senior officials immediately shouted back in anger.

"Brandon! I already told you to give us more time to discuss it! And now you’re the one losing patience?"

He gritted his teeth.

"Don’t push us too far. Our leader may be dead, but if you think you can swallow Green Wind Shelter so easily... Then be prepared to lose a few teeth in the process."

Brandon merely smiled.

"Give you more time? I think you’re just looking for an opportunity to escape with the warehouse supplies."

"I warned you long ago not to waste your effort. Before, your subordinate shelters might have helped you escape. But now..."

He slowly swept his gaze across the surrounding battlefield.

"Take a good look. The very shelters that once obeyed Green Wind have now surrounded you alongside us."

"Tell me... Where exactly do you plan to run?"

Following Brandon’s gaze, Vikram also looked around.

Just as Brandon had said, Green Wind Shelter was completely surrounded.

Hundreds of armed survivors had formed a tight encirclement around the manor, leaving almost no route of escape.

However, despite holding the advantage, Blue Frost Shelter still hadn’t launched a full-scale assault.

Clearly, they also had their concerns.

Although Green Wind Shelter had lost Snape, not everyone inside had betrayed it.

A large number of loyal members still guarded the manor’s walls, clutching their weapons with determined expressions.

If Blue Frost chose to force its way inside, even victory would come at a heavy price.
