Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons
Chapter 1215 - Taming the Old World - RespiteChapter 1215: Chapter 1215 - Taming the Old World - Respite
When the apocalyptic clash finally concluded, the mutant army simply dispersed.
No one could articulate exactly why the siege broke...
Perhaps the mindless horrors had completely lost their tactical tether the moment the five-headed Hydra communication collapsed, aimlessly scattering into the wilderness to seek out zones with denser ambient mana.
Perhaps they had actually registered genuine fear of the Vanguard defenders, assuming a weirdly mutated, corrupted entity was even biologically capable of processing such a complex emotion.
Or perhaps, far away in the subterranean dark, they were subconsciously answering the desperate, terrified weeping of someone who suddenly felt overwhelmingly, profoundly alone.
The absolute truth wouldn’t be uncovered anytime soon.
All the Vanguard knew was that the brutal, grinding siege was finally over. After the relentless slaughter without a single second of respite, the sudden silence was more than welcome.
Soldiers had simply collapsed where they stood... They dropped their bodies into the ash and slumped against the shattered barricades. Absolutely no commander had to issue a formal order for the Tamers to recall their exhausted beasts; the elites severed their fusions and dismissed their summons completely on instinct, desperate to preserve whatever microscopic fractions of their mana remained.

Selphira and Lin arrived at the epicenter shortly after the vanguard successfully contained the terrifying crisis involving Sirius. The two veterans were rapidly briefed on the catastrophic string of events they had missed while holding the rear.
They listened in grim silence to the horrifying details of the attempted possession. The reckless, sacrificial gambit of Luna’s shadow wolf.
And from Mayo, in a very theatrical manner... The sheer absurdity of Lykea abandoning the Great Wall, commandeering Mayo’s massive cloud-bird, and plummeting from the sky purely out of desperate love.
And despite their hardened combat experience, neither woman could tear their eyes away from the colossal, monolithic dome of hyper-compressed metal and bedrock that now dominated the courtyard, resting exactly where the royal castle used to be.
Julius and Selphira slowly approached the star-prison.
The surface of the adamantium was still noticeably warm to the touch, and the entire structure hummed with a deep, rhythmic vibration. Julius pressed his palm flat against the impossible alloy, closed his golden eyes, and allowed his profound affinity with the earth to read the subterranean tremors echoing inside.
"It is scratching," the Qilin prince reported after a long, heavy silence. "It is utilizing the ancient artifacts. It is focusing entirely on the side leading to the vault doors at the base."
"Can it breach the stone?" Selphira asked, her voice dropping to a harsh whisper.
"Given enough time..." Julius didn’t pull his hand away. "The indestructible artifacts are still harder than the hyper-compressed bedrock. It is like... trying to dig through a solid brick wall using a metal spoon. Yes, the spoon will eventually win the war of attrition, simply because the wall is softer. But it is an agonizingly slow process."
He concentrated deeper on the muffled, rhythmic impacts, meticulously calculating the structural degradation.
"Judging by the microscopic fractures I can hear forming in the stone, I estimate it will take the beast at least approximately two weeks to carve a tunnel large enough to physically escape. The bedrock is phenomenally dense, and the entity seems to have exhausted the vast majority of its kinetic output. Unfortunately, even operating at my absolute maximum fusion, I cannot manipulate this level of stone to repair the internal damage."
Two weeks...
That was the new countdown. That was the ticking clock looming over the entire continent.
The absolute most critical tactical priority was to heal Ren before that two-week window expired.
The absolute finest, most elite healers in the sister cities swarmed the courtyard the moment the Glorious General was stabilized. They frantically rushed him to the royal infirmary. But the medical experts immediately slammed into a terrifying, impenetrable wall that absolutely none of them possessed the expertise to cross: the Diamond rank crystallization.
There were certain superficial sections they could safely treat. The jagged crystals clinging to areas that didn’t directly interfere with his primary ethereal pathways, a small, localized patch on his shoulder, a thin, superficial vein creeping across his cheek, were meticulously addressed.
The master healers painstakingly pulled the skin and muscle away piece by piece, aggressively flooding the wounds with advanced cellular regeneration spells to ensure absolutely no scars remained.
But those minor victories were insignificant.
The vast majority of the crystallization had driven its roots profoundly deep into Ren’s anatomy, permanently fusing directly with his central mana circulatory system.
And the healers were utterly terrified to touch the core network, paralyzed by the fear of permanently crippling the single most important VIP on the planet.
"If we forcefully attempt to extract this," the highest-ranking medical officer explained, his voice trembling as he pointed to the massive, transparent slab of crystal creeping up Ren’s chest, enveloping his shoulder, and dangerously hugging his throat, "we will catastrophically rupture his primary ethereal arteries. His entire left arm will also simply fall off. And we possess absolutely zero of those mythical restorative potions capable of regenerating an amputated limb of this caliber."
The healer swallowed hard. "We are strictly not authorized to perform an amputation. Especially not at the shoulder."
No one in the room wanted to hear that specific word.
So, they were forced to leave the vast majority of the lethal crystals exactly as it was. They could only sit and wait. They had to place their blind, desperate faith in the hope that when Ren finally woke up, he possessed the knowledge required to reverse the petrification process from the inside out, exactly as he had miraculously learned to execute countless other impossible feats that absolutely no one else could comprehend.
It was a terrifying gamble on whether he would ever wake up at all. And an even darker gamble on whether, upon waking, he still retained the biological capacity to save himself.

The days dragged on, thick with suffocating tension.
The absolute absence of mutant attacks should have been a profound relief, and on a purely logistical level, it was. But the heavy silence also left the Vanguard with far too much time to obsessively stare at two deeply unsettling things: the monolithic star-prison that constantly vibrated in the courtyard, and the completely motionless body of their Glorious General.
