Chapter 462 - 256: Murderer (2)

Baron said, "So the wings and beast ears are just a disguise. You aren’t an Old Race with the Perfect Defilement at all."

"No," Vivian said. "I do have the Perfect Defilement. I’m just not an Old Race—I’m of the Blood Race."

"One last question. After you answer, I’ll let you go," Baron said.

"You’re really willing to let me go?" Vivian said. "I’m of the Blood Race, you know."

"I think you might be misunderstanding something. So what if you’re of the Blood Race? So what if you have the Perfect Defilement?" Baron chuckled. "Even if you wanted to kill everyone here, I wouldn’t care. Because none of that has much to do with me."

Vivian was silent for a moment before saying, "Go on, ask."

"Everything that happened on the Magic Train earlier—the Demon attack on the carriage, all of that—was it all your and your organization’s doing?"

Vivian gave a slight nod, a clear admission.

Baron nodded and said, "Earlier, you asked what it was I understood, right?"

As Vivian stared in shock, Baron said softly, "I understood that I’m not nearly as kind as I thought I was."

He thrust out his Spear Sword, its tip sinking into the girl’s smooth forehead. He heard the CRACK of her skull, felt the viscous resistance as the tip mashed through nerves. When he pulled the blade out, half of Angel Vivian’s white wings were stained red with blood, like burning Fire.

"Sometimes, I think I should go to Hell," Baron muttered to himself, looking at the girl’s gruesome corpse.

Then, he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and saw a slender reflection suddenly leap out in front of him. He quickly reversed his Spear Sword and thrust it behind him. The hilt vibrated once, a sign that the blade had pierced the body of the person behind him.

Without a moment’s hesitation, before the person behind him could even launch an attack, Baron yanked the trigger.

The gunshots were louder than the tolling of a doomsday bell. With every muzzle flash, another spray of blood blossomed on the Persian Velvet carpet. Baron could even imagine the victim’s insides had probably been blown to bits by the Alchemy Bullet’s secondary explosion.

When the last bullet was spent, Baron turned his head to the side and saw a face resting on his shoulder, head bowed—a stunning woman who shared nearly all of Vivian’s features, but was even more bewitching and beautiful.

Vivian smiled. It was a beautiful smile, but she was also covered in a cold sweat, likely from the pain. Baron knew how lethal Alchemy Bullets were at close range; even a Bronze Tier Faith Knight would be in for a world of hurt.

She was the one who had just ambushed Baron from behind. Her hands were still dripping with his blood.

From the corner of his eye, Baron saw the body of "Angel Vivian" in front of him instantly melt into a pool of blood, which then surged toward the slender, alluring woman behind him.

He understood instantly. It was the Blood Race’s unique, seamless talent for melting their bodies into blood. If they could melt their bodies into blood, then it certainly wasn’t difficult to use that blood to forge a new body.

He pulled out the Spear Sword, smelling the thick scent of Gunpowder and blood from the blade. His Golden Eye lit up. Dragon Flame erupted fiercely along the blade, vaporizing the blood on it.

Turning around, he saw Vivian had already dissolved into a pool of blood and retreated to the center of the hall. When she reformed, she was a gorgeous woman with perfectly shaped brows, clear eyes, and soft, rounded shoulders.

Her lips were rosy and full, her waist slender, her legs long and shapely. She still had enormous wings and snow-white beast ears. A gossamer-like veil was draped over her body, giving her a bewitchingly Holy aura.

If you ignored the massive wound in her toned abdomen, that is...

Baron advanced, Spear Sword in hand. "Relax. Feeling dizzy is normal. Take a deep breath. I can make it quick."

Vivian forced a smile. "Mr. Constantine... you seem to have forgotten... you have my blood in you."

"And for any Old Race who has drunk my blood," her crimson pupils suddenly deepened, "I can control their life and death!"

"Kneel," she said softly.

It felt as if something violent had awakened within him, a roaming dragon rampaging through his body, piercing every nerve.

THUD. Baron dropped to one knee.

Vivian said, "Hey, my little treat, Mr. Constantine. The floor is quite slippery, isn’t it?"

Baron wanted to snark about Vivian actually knowing a bad joke, but at a time like this, there was nothing he could do. Just as Vivian said, the Blood Race will that had been temporarily suppressed by the Shepherdess was quietly reawakening inside him. Along with it, his own bloodlust stirred. The Blood Eye, unique to the Blood Faction after the Glimpse of the Mysterious Crystal, was becoming almost impossible to suppress.

He gasped for air, his own heartbeat a dense drumroll inside his chest. The drumming grew louder and louder, as if someone were standing right behind his ear, hammering away at a drum.

Using his Spiritual Vision to look inside his body, he was shocked to find that the advancement ritual that had been sealed away was beginning to come loose again. The worst-case scenario was about to happen.

Vivian took out several large bottles of blood from her clothes and then manipulated the blood to fill the wound in her abdomen.

Just as Baron’s Blood Faction could use blood to repair wounds, the Blood Race could also use blood to heal their bodies.

In fact, most of the abilities of Blood Demon Hunters originated from the Blood Race.

It is said that the most powerful of the Blood Race can even achieve the legendary "rebirth from a single drop of blood." Therefore, to completely annihilate the Blood Race, one must fight until the very last drop of blood is gone—and that is a statement of fact.

Vivian said, "Are you regretting it now? But don’t worry, you’re a Dragon Knight. Your body contains a noble enough aura to resist my corruption... but actually, that doesn’t matter either, because I have more than enough blood."

"The legendary Dragon Knight becoming my Blood Servant... even if the mission fails, if I bring you back, they won’t have anything to say about it."

She walked forward and with a flick of her hand, sliced open her wrist. More blood flowed out.

"Head up, mouth open."

She gave the command, and Baron indeed tilted his head back, allowing the blood to flow into his throat.

His expression was foolish and dull, as if he were completely mesmerized.

Vivian breathed a sigh of relief internally. ’The Dragon Knight’s Divine Soul must be completely corrupted by now.’ It was only natural. With such a dose of her blood, unless Constantine was Silver Tier, no matter what class he was, he wouldn’t be able to resist such a quantity of Divine Soul corrosion.

Of course, there was another possibility. Unless Constantine was also of the Blood Race, and his bloodline was Third Generation Species or higher, only then would he be qualified to resist her corruption... But was that even possible?

She silently stared at Baron’s Golden Eyes as they grew dimmer and dimmer. She could clearly see those pupils, the envy of countless Contract Knights of the Inner Side, being drowned in a sea of crimson. This was her blood carrying out the Assimilation of the Dragon Knight’s body.

This, too, was a racial talent of the Blood Race: using a blood baptism to cultivate their own Blood Servants.

Unlike the retainers of other high-ecological-niche species, as long as a Blood Race member’s bloodline was noble enough, it was possible for their Blood Servants to also evolve into one of the Blood Race.

As for things like Blood Demons, they were purely the product of a group that had betrayed the Blood Law. Only those old, undying members of the Blood Race, desperate for a chance at revival, would violate the Blood Law to mass-produce these irrational, law-breaking monsters in batches, until they themselves devolved into such creatures.

She silently watched Baron’s vacant face, staring at those eyes that had now turned completely crimson, and said:

"Your eyes are beautiful... but so full of hypocrisy and lies. You have a strong will, though, so I can understand how you, a Dragon Knight, could endure your identity as a Bloodless for so many years.

You saw through my identity long ago, yet you still forced yourself to suppress your disgust to interact with me, someone tainted by Demon’s Blood. You talk a good game, but your trembling hands back on the Magic Train betrayed your true feelings long ago."
