When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase

Looking at the text message on the phone, Xi Siyan’s brows gradually relaxed.

What about the honors class? He wasn’t sure, so that’s why she was working so hard all this time, was it ultimately for herself?

Xi Siyan suddenly felt a sense of relief in his heart, yet unexpectedly a pang of heartache as well. He put down his pen and turned to look out the window.

He stared blankly at his phone for two seconds, and a big smile spread across Xi Siyan’s usually unsmiling face.

At noon, Zhou Qi had hidden on the rooftop to play games. Upon returning now, he saw Xi Siyan stupidly smiling at his phone.

Familiar with each other, and with the seating arrangement of the competition class being quite casual, Zhou Qi naturally sat with Xi Siyan.

"Whoa, did the sun just rise in the west today? You’re actually smiling? I should buy a lottery ticket, see if I’ll win today."

Xi Siyan had already reigned in his smile and was back to normal. Ignoring Zhou Qi’s teasing, he asked, "Have you finished your practice problems?"

"Almost."

Xi Siyan didn’t say anything more and continued working on his problem sets.

In the competition class, he and Zhou Qi were the two students most favored by the teachers. From the grades, it seemed Xi Siyan was ahead of Zhou Qi, but Xi Siyan knew that Zhou Qi and Zhou Chengchen alike didn’t put their whole hearts into studying.

The most accurate description would be, Xi Siyan is a top student, while Zhou Qi is a genius.

He could achieve in three parts the effort what others needed eight parts to accomplish. This was talent, and Xi Siyan didn’t envy this talent; he could compensate for it with acquired effort.

Very soon, the afternoon passed, and just as the bell rang for dismissal, Zhou Qi received a text from Zhou Chengchen. He immediately looked at the person beside him: "Damn it, where are you taking my sister again?"

Confused, Xi Siyan watched Zhou Qi wave his phone in front of him: "That girl Cheng Chen asked me to go ahead again. It must be related to you."

Xi Siyan made a sound of acknowledgment, then completely ignored Zhou Qi’s clatter, packed up his things, and left.

They agreed to meet outside the school gate. When Xi Siyan arrived, he didn’t see Zhou Chengchen, so he looked around, and suddenly, out of nowhere, a person popped up: "Ha! Did I scare you?"

Zhou Chengchen’s smile was bright, and Xi Siyan pulled out a smile as well, reaching out to pat Zhou Chengchen on the head: "Childish!"

"What childish, this is called keeping a childlike heart, okay, Xi classmate, watch your words."

"Hmm, childlike heart."

The two walked out side by side. Not far behind them, Zhang Xiao watched Zhou Chengchen and Xi Siyan leave together, pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose, how could these two be together?

Over there, Xi Siyan asked Zhou Chengchen what she wanted to eat for dinner, but Zhou Chengchen just gave a mischievous smile: "I’ll take you there, but it’s still early now. Should we do our homework first?"

"Sure!"

They found a sweet shop, ordered a couple of things, and Zhou Chengchen took out the exercise book she had bought. The teacher had been considerate today, and there wasn’t much homework. She had already finished it at school.

Now, she just needed to strengthen her weak subjects.

Across from her, Xi Siyan was as usual working on his competition problems.
