Adam had never felt so furious in his life.
That high kick from Riley could have had serious consequences on his body. He was not someone who was too keen on getting injured when he could avoid it, and was the primary reason for how he currently felt.
This was supposed to be just a survival trial. They were simply meant to survive in a hush environment for a period of time; not tear each other apart. But it seemed he had been the only one thinking that way.
Even when he fought Ryner and Derek the first time, he avoided hurting them too severely, and opted for knocking them out. But that mercy had been thrown back in his face.
Adam was done holding back most of his physical strength.
And since the world already knew he awakened two main affinities, it wouldn’t be too strange when he overpowered the girl. That was why he barely held back on that kick.
Any more than that, and the girl might have been knocked out with a cracked skull, or worse, death. That, too, had not been enough to convince the girl of what he could do.
This left him with an option he didn’t want to explore: beating her into a bloody pulp. Maybe that would be enough to convince her that survival did not have to turn bloody.
He had all but forgotten about the meat. And with how the others launched at it, it would take a miracle for him to recover any of the left overs.
Because his focus had been on that singular goal, he was blindsided to Ryner’s dropkick. It knocked the air out of him. But what hurt the most was slamming into the hard ground.
His left shoulder ached from the shock, making him angrier. But more than that, however, he was grateful for the lesson. Focusing on one entity left him blinded to his surroundings.
He looked at the three elites and gritted his teeth. Talk was indeed cheap. Until they were pressed face first into the ground, they would never understand the gap that existed between them.
"I guess that’s it for talking. No one truly accepts their reality until it’s shoved right into their faces."
"Bring it on! You may have won the first round, but this fight won’t be so easy!" the loud one bellowed confidently.
He was the first to charge at Adam, his golden lightning crackling dangerously. Adam shot forward as well, his expression dark. And this time, he met Ryner’s infused lightning fist head-on.
Fist met fist in a devastating clash of lightning and gale. The air exploded with a thunderous boom, lightning and wind scattering in every direction.
Adam grunted as lightning travelled through his arm and down his body. Gritting his teeth, he pushed through the pain, attacking with lethal precision. Every strike he exchanged with Ryner sent shocks through his body.
But with each strike, the lethality and damage dealt by the lightning decreased, his understanding of the lightning element rising in real time through first-hand experience. Ryner’s eyes narrowed as he realized Adam wasn’t slowing down.
Unfortunately for him, Adam did not care for his worries. His gaze shifted momentarily, marking Derek’s and Riley’s position. They could not close in recklessly and attack when he and Ryner moved around so much.
The three weren’t that close, and as such, had little to no synergy fighting together. Had Ryner charged in with Derek, perhaps things would have been different. Adam swiftly changed tactics the moment he finished analyzing the core of Ryner’s fighting style.
He broke through Ryner’s defence and delivered a heavy blow to his gut. Before that even registered, he followed up with an uppercut that lifted Ryner off the ground. The final touch that knocked him out with a bleeding head was a lethal slap that violently drove his head into the hard ground.
"Oo...!"
The shock and sting of that slap rippled across the plain like a warning. Many backed away further, their eyes widening in horror.
Derek closed in at that moment, aiming to catch Adam off guard. Sadly for him, Adam had learnt his lesson. He spotted him long before he moved.
With no idea how lethal the poison could be, Adam wasted no time on exchanging blows. His figure blurred, intercepting the poison user before he could reach him.
Derek smirked as he threw a fist as Adam, his poison shooting out like a jet stream. Adam caught the fist with a blast of wind, dispelling the poison in a hemisphere in Derek’s direction. Before the boy could hurled another stream at him, Adam drove his head into the boy’s face.
The crunchy sound echoed as Derek’s nose broke, bleeding. His shock barely registered when Adam drove a heavy punch to his stomach. The boy bent forward and received a chin slap in the process, rattling his teeth and drawing more blood.
Adam followed it with the same humiliation he served Ryner, violently slapping the boy head first into the ground. Then his head turned sharply, locking onto a frozen Riley.
The girl looked at him with a deep frown. Seeing that she made no moves to attack, Adam walked towards her with calm, steady steps. The entire plain had grown quiet. No one made a sound as they looked on in horror.
Adam made taking down those elites like it was nothing!
Ryner had been able to somewhat match him at the start, but that had changed so fast that a slap was all it took to knock him out! He pushed through Ryner’s lightning like they were ticklish rather than deadly.
Derek did not even come close. He ended him so fast that the boy might as well pass out on his own. The boy was by no means weak, and yet...
Adam saw it before Riley made her move. Her frozen state of shock had been nothing but a facade. There was no way someone as confident and prideful as herself would easily lose their will to fight.
The girl had gathered a swirling ball of air in her right hand, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. She blinked and reappeared in front of Adam, her right hand shooting forward, the gathered Pulsing Gale in her palm humming with a ring.
