Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1601 - 970: Tomb King Nite (2)"If I’m not mistaken, that seems to be a necklace produced by the Bed family, but what they’re wearing doesn’t seem to be the genuine article..." Maru remarked.
"See through it but don’t speak of it."
Leon stroked her head and waved his hand saying, "Let’s move out!"
The group broke through the skeletons blocking the path to the Fog Gate, reaching out to touch the shapeshifting misty entrance.
The location of this Fog Gate where Tomb King Nite resides was provided by the Revive Association, but even without their intel, Leon and the others would have found it eventually.
Because the design of the Giant Tomb is relatively merciful, presenting a correct "one-path" route, which, if followed, leads directly to the place of the Fog Gate’s location.
But, because the straightforward route is too obvious, if one doesn’t divert their attention to explore other areas,
they might miss many spectacular views.
Leon and the others have finally crossed through the Fog Gate.
Upon opening their eyes, they were greeted by the sight of underground caverns all over the Giant Tomb, a place that even seemed familiar.
"Even though I’ve said it many times, I still have to praise this exquisite map."
Because this is the place where they first pledged allegiance to Tomb King Nite, the place where Tomb King Nite slumbers!
They wandered back and forth along the direct path towards the depths of the Giant Tomb, ending up arriving at a location accessible from the mid-section road.
Though it may serve no practical purpose, encountering such a scene for the first time is truly surprising, and it prompts one to carefully reflect on their journey route.
How did they get here? How was the map of the Giant Tomb designed? It’s all so coincidental!
Before they could ponder further, a particularly intense feeling of pressure swept over them overwhelmingly, the almost tangible pressure making breathing difficult, even affecting the flow of magic power.
"Clatter clatter—"
Accompanying this extreme pressure came an odd sound, formed from numerous skeletons colliding and rubbing against each other, accompanied by a ghostly wind like howling.
Where this ghostly wind blew, the sound was of skeletons breaking through the ground one after another.
"He came, they came too." Tai Fengli’an immediately raised his hand to summon his own undead army.
"Wait a moment, we agreed to as much." Leon stopped him.
Can we really pull this off? Tai Fengli’an showed a hint of doubt on his face, but he quickly hid the emotion away.
The sound of skeleton friction became more pronounced, but instead of Tomb King Nite and his skeleton army, what appeared before them was something adventurers were accustomed to in the Giant Tomb.
Death Miasma!
Thick Death Miasma swept towards them, with no space to block it!
"This familiar development." The necromancers unexpectedly sighed in relief, as the beginning was just like what they’d experienced before.
Upon entering Tomb King Nite’s challenge ground, the Death Miasma was the first to confront them; this terrifying gas that causes bodily decay if touched was used at the start of this hunt to test the intruders’ abilities!
If one can’t endure the initial Death Miasma, even suffering slightly severe injuries as a result, the ensuing challenge would be meaningless.
In the past, the necromancers of the Revive Association had relied on summoning undead to wrap around themselves to form a tight protective shield, coupled with the mitigation effect from their pledged allegiance to Tomb King Nite, to withstand it.
This combination was effective, but it also had weaknesses.
Because the Death Miasma would intermittently arise during normal battles; during the early to mid stages, the necromancers could use this trick to defend themselves, but as the battle intensity increased, and the number of undead creatures at their disposal dwindled, assembling protective shields became impossible.
At that point, the Death Miasma became a real kill line.
Leon and his team are not necromancers, and it’s too late to learn undead magic now.
So they sought out Hades.
"Get closer."
A muffled voice issued from beneath Hades’ luminous stone mask, and everyone gathered around him just as the Death Miasma was about to touch their bodies.
He operated his magic power, tapped the magic wand against the ground, and instantly, crystal powder spread outward from their feet; when the crystal powder appeared beneath everyone’s feet, thick clusters of crystals began rising one after another from the powder.
Until these crystal clusters quickly formed a massive irregular crystal ball enveloping them inside!
They seemed to be caught like Pokémon in a Pokéball.
"Whoosh—"
Death Miasma touched the crystal ball at this moment, enveloping it instantly.
But the crystal remained intact!
Until the Death Miasma dissipated, this indestructible crystal ball seemed to have thinned by half, but didn’t let a single bit of miasma seep inside.
"We did it!" Leon clenched his fist, expressing his excitement.
Using the products of Sain Dungeon to tackle challenges within Sain Dungeon is an eternally effective technique!
So, what can stand tall against the Death Miasma with prestigious defense capabilities?
It’s the crystal from White Dragon Heiss!
Turns out, using the hard crystal to fend off the Death Miasma yields excellent results!
Bringing Hades along was indeed the right choice.
Hades adjusted the flow of magic power, and the already formed crystal ball suddenly shattered; some attached to the group’s body surfaces, forming a layer of "skin" that doesn’t hinder movement, while others transformed into variously-sized flat shields circling them, defending them from harm.
This new crystal shield, developed with some reference to gravity magic, is lighter and as effective as the previously used straightforward crystal armor!
"He’s truly a professor."
Tai Fengli’an praised, but wasn’t ashamed of himself despite the other’s impressive display.
Because when it comes to undead magic, he’s no different from the professor!
Everyone’s expressions didn’t relax because they successfully endured the corrosive effects of the Death Miasma; the real main course is about to begin.
The entire arena featured many stone pillars, sufficient for blocking views and dividing the battlefield, the stone pillars ahead were gathered tightly enough to almost act as a screen.
And now, a blade larger than Tal himself appeared from behind the stone pillars.
The shape of that blade...
"It’s the Tomb King Sword."
Although its gigantic size was unprecedented, it was undoubtedly the Tomb King Sword!
And the one wielding this divine weapon was naturally...
A giant-like skeleton emerged from behind the stone pillars, hundreds and thousands of stacked skulls at the chest silently screamed, a cloak formed from Death Miasma billowed behind him.
Tomb King Nite, finally awakened from the slumber of the crypt!
"Seeing him move in person is even more breathtaking." Maru was somewhat flustered.
"Seize the moment, we must attack now while he’s just woken up, as much as possible," the necromancers urged.
"Indeed, now is the time when the Death God is least aggressive."
Tai Fengli’an said so, too, and swung his magic wand, thrusting it heavily into the ground.
In the next instant, massive magic power enfolded an even larger figure emerging behind him, accompanied by an innumerable army of undead creatures.
"Raaar—"
Tai Fengli’an’s most potent undead creation—Little Vonier—roared at Tomb King Nite.
