Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1659 - 989: Losric Small Banner"That place seems super safe...not!"
Leon looked at the huge monster falling from the ceiling, wishing he could smack himself for saying that not long ago.
About ten minutes ago.
"It’s still a bit too much for me to take on those knights now."
Leon dodged the wandering Losric Knights all the way, heading towards a building that resembled a church.
The greatest threat on the way was these knights; each of them was bloodthirsty, and sometimes they would even have internal conflicts. But the moment he appeared, they would unanimously focus on him, and they would chase him far and wide, even calling for backup.
This made Leon absolutely reluctant to fight multiple Losric Knights. It’s not that he couldn’t win, but even if he did, it would exhaust his stamina and magic power, forcing him to return to the bonfire and run through the map again.
After all, his level was only in the twenties now, and both magic power and endurance were declining, which required him to act cautiously.
However, if he converted it, the current level of twenty-something barely touched the edge of past level thirty. It didn’t seem all that powerless.
His biggest reliance now was his combat skill artistry upgraded to a seamless level, allowing him to bridge the hard strength gap between him and the Monster, and kill enemies. He even dared to say that the current him could take down his past higher-level self.
Levels can be leveled up again, but skills, the improvement in this area, are something you can only encounter, not seek!
"I’m really getting more curious about what happened here."
The ground was littered with the corpses of Losric Knights, and sometimes some would jump out alive from the pile to attack him. The word "war" was written everywhere.
Moreover, based on his observations, it’s not just a simple "war," but rather a civil war.
"And what’s the deal with that fat knight?"
While in a small square filled with Losric Knight corpses, Leon discovered a fat knight who was several times fatter than the Onion Knight, and every step he took made the ground tremble slightly. Yet, that comical appearance strangely gave off a sense of sanctity.
His gaze focused on the fat knight’s back, where there were disproportionately small wings, making the whole look...peculiar.
But for some reason, Leon suddenly became very interested in him.
To be precise, in the armor on the fat knight’s body, inexplicably feeling that it was quite handsome.
If paired with a Slave Headscarf, it might be cool enough to break through Skyrim!
With such thoughts, he had also recently fought fiercely with the knight known as the Feathered Knight, doing his utmost to take him down but unfortunately not obtaining the armor, which was truly a pity.
So far, he hadn’t been able to obtain any equipment from defeating the Monster.
This made him, eager to read some texts to gather intelligence about the place, quite frustrated.
Fortunately, he now saw the possibility of gathering more intelligence because a seemingly communicative old woman was seated at the deepest part of the opposite church.
And there’s a bonfire not yet lit there, the sense of safety is overwhelming, right? In places where there’s a bonfire, that’s a safe zone!
Driven by the curiosity for the unknown, Leon stepped boldly into the church.
The decor here seemed different from other areas he knew, elaborately adorned and exceedingly intricate, giving an impression even more masterful than Yanor Londo, quite luxurious.
Despite the dust and ruin at the moment, it’s not hard to imagine how glorious it once was.
The old woman sat at the deepest part of the church, facing the entrance door, surrounded by bizarre sculptures that draw one’s gaze.
There were sculptures of Headless Knights carrying their own heads and Beheading Knights wielding swords to behead themselves, appearing to be full of some strange ritualistic aura.
Leon didn’t recklessly approach; his long-standing cautiousness led him to light the bonfire first, then he walked toward the old woman before him.
First, have a word with her, then use the bonfire to teleport back to the Fire Transmission Ceremony for a level-up, finally teleport back here, using it as a base for exploration around.
A perfectly executed plan!
Leon couldn’t help but smile.
As he got closer, before he could say anything, the elderly woman suddenly spoke:
"I have waited long, unkindled ashes."
The elder’s voice was so old, as if gratingly difficult, but her aura was extraordinary, her choice of words antiquated, hard to underestimate her.
Leon smiled politely, still somewhat unaccustomed to being called "unkindled ashes" or "ash" and the like.
"I am Emma, the main priest of this city—Losric. I have matters to convey to you."
"The Ember Kings have left this city, and they have all set forth to the lower city of this place, the root homeland where people drift and settle."
"You go now to the lower wall, this small ring flag will guide you through the great city gate. It is a token for seeking kings. Lift the small ring flag high, and the path shall naturally manifest."
Without giving Leon any choice, the old woman known as the Main Priest Emma forced a small flag with a circle painted on it into his hand.
At first glance, Leon even thought it depicted the Dark Ring, but after a closer look, he found it wasn’t the case.
