Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1664 - 991: The Onion Knight Awakens! (Part 2)The reasons for opposition are quite simple.
He is the prince of the Warrior Country, born with many responsibilities on his shoulders, how can he burn himself for a monument in the Sain Dungeon!
Then, when the warriors were arguing against him and he was still wavering in his thoughts, someone broke into their conversation and said:
"The Onion Knight has woken up!"
"What do you mean?" Someone paused for a moment, not understanding what this meant.
Temude, however, knew of the existence of the Onion Knight and, upon recalling, remembered many details and said:
"The Onion Knight—Jack Baldor of Catalina, is a residual shadow that appears in many places in the Sain Dungeon, helping adventurers."
"Ah... I still don’t quite recall."
"His helmet looks like a white onion, and his body is like stacks of wheels."
"Oh oh oh, now I know who he is!"
Temude shook his head helplessly, really worried for his group of rough-nerved guys. He turned to the warrior who reported the event and asked:
"What do you mean by saying he has woken up?"
It’s known that the Onion Knight loves to sleep.
When adventurers engage in battle and win alongside him in those fixed areas where they encounter him, then leave and return, they can randomly find the Onion Knight snoring away in a corner.
It’s said that his cross-legged sleeping posture was even turned into a pillow, and sales have been good.
The last place adventurers can encounter the Onion Knight is at Yilushier in the Cold Valley, where after helping them defeat monsters, he appears in a kitchen in Yilushier, toasting with adventurers before falling into a deep sleep.
Then he remains asleep, unable to wake up.
Anytime someone goes to check, he remains in his sleeping state, and only by repeatedly attacking him can he be stirred from sleep... but that would thoroughly anger him, preventing any further development of their relationship or potential story progression.
Adventurers were originally a bit exasperated with him always sleeping, but witnessing the tragic outcomes for increasingly more residual shadow characters, they began to cherish the cute and naive Onion Knight.
Just let the Onion Knight keep sleeping in the kitchen, that’s perfectly fine.
"He’s... simply woken up."
The warrior said, "This news came from the adventurer’s guild in the Yanor Kingdom, first discovered by a team of Silver Level adventurers, who reportedly suddenly found the perpetually sleeping Onion Knight awake while collecting materials at Yilushier."
"And then?" Temude asked curiously: "Is it necessary to inform me specifically about this?"
After all, he wasn’t very familiar with the Onion Knight or the residual shadows that appear in the Yanor Kingdom area, without any Bonds to speak of.
Thinking of this, he pondered for a moment. If discussing residual shadows he felt close to, it would surely be the gentle Magic Tutor Klarna.
Who wouldn’t like a gentle teacher who calls you a silly disciple?
Also, the White Spider is nice, her pitiful appearance just evokes affection, and the things she does for the residents of Sick Village are very saintly, fitting his type.
For a while, Temude went to Klarna and the White Spider whenever he had time, purely to chat and relieve stress.
Later, Klarna disappeared, so he could only go to the White Spider’s place, but the White Spider wasn’t much of a conversationalist, and gradually, he stopped visiting.
"Actually, it’s like this," the warrior said, "he mentioned some things that are likely related to the continuation of Chaos Breeding Ground and Madam Klarna’s story. I thought you might be interested."
Temude raised an eyebrow immediately, "Can you tell me specifically what it is? No, never mind, I’ll go see for myself."
During his study exchange in the Yanor Kingdom, he had explored the entire Sain Dungeon area at that time, though he had missed quite a few Boss Monsters, but at least he had extended his exploration to the latest area, Yilushier in the Cold Valley.
He quickly arranged how his short-term affairs should be handled after his departure and, along with the warriors, plunged into the Sain Dungeon.
After some time, they arrived at Yilushier in the Cold Valley, holding a guide book produced by the Skyrim Strategy Group, once again found the kitchen where the Onion Knight was asleep.
It’s hard to imagine, in a dangerous place with Black Knights and Centipede Men ahead, the Onion Knight could still sleep so sweetly.
As they reapproached this place, the Onion Knight’s drooping head suddenly rose.
Like waking from a long dream, he stretched lazily and said while getting up:
"How long have I slept? It was a beautiful dream, all my body’s fatigue healed, wonderful, I, Jack Baldor of Catalina, am ready to embark on a journey again!"
After making a statement in line with his character role, he turned to notice Temude and the others.
"Oh? You’re still here. It’s nice to wake up and see friends, how about a drink of the wine I’ve brewed?"
The Onion Knight enthusiastically took out cups of "Jack’s Wine" and distributed them among the group. The warriors’ spirits lifted at the sight of wine, and they gathered to drink.
This wine, only appreciated by the Undead, was particularly invigorating, causing the warriors to shout like monkeys.
Temude downed his drink in one go, exclaiming, "Delicious, do you have more?"
The Onion Knight burst into a series of laughs, saying, "Apologies, though I still have some wine on me, it’s saved for celebratory reunions with old friends, can’t share any more with you."
"Are you going to meet friends next?" Temude deliberately guided the conversation, "Why not go together, I’m curious to meet them too."
"Hahaha, better not, the place I’ll be heading is too dangerous," the Onion Knight refused clearly, a rare occurrence: "For your safety, I don’t want to drag you into it."
But under Temude’s persistent urging, he eventually relented and said:
"You know what’s beneath Yilushier?"
"An underground prison."
"And below the underground prison?"
"I don’t know."
The Onion Knight’s demeanor became serious as he said, "It’s the homeland of the past Ember King, Giant King Yum, overflowing with Sin Fire in the ’City of Sin’... or rather, its ruins."
"Although it’s already dilapidated, the powerful Sin Fire still attracts many seekers, who’ve gathered in the City of Sin. It’s definitely not a safe place. I warn you not to go there."
But then the Onion Knight sighed.
"Judging by your eyes, I know you’ll definitely go... fine, for your own sake, please wait some time before going. I can ensure it becomes safer."
"Before that, I have a place that’s even safer to recommend to you."
The Onion Knight rummaged within his armor and finally pulled out... a map?
It was a paper map still bearing traces of smoke and fire scars, seemingly quite old.
But the scent emanating from it was very familiar, the distinct Chaos Flame of the Chaos Ruins of Izalis!
Though the scent was faint, Temude could identify it.
"This map can guide you to a place called Smoke Lake, which used to be a haven for Chaos Demons."
"But now, the demons entrenched there have been completely annihilated by Losric’s army. You can safely search for scattered treasure; it should be relatively secure."
"If you’re interested in Sorcery, it’s a great choice."
"Smoke Lake, huh..."
Temude accepted the map, his eyes shimmering.
Is that the future Izalis?
