Chapter 411: Chapter 281: Collapse 2

"One core provides 200,000 points toward its progress. This is a real cure-all..." Han Ning said, his face beaming.

Just two more cores, and Grey would be able to break through.

It only took a day or two to collect a single core. How could he not be ecstatic?

Without a doubt, the mysterious Power of Void had proven incredibly useful.

The turbulent Spiritual Energy fluctuating around Grey caused quite a stir.

It wasn’t just the dozens of Beast Masters on the landing platform who noticed. Hundreds more, studying and working several kilometers away, also sensed the commotion. Thinking an accident had occurred, they all dropped what they were doing and rushed toward the platform.

"Han Ning! What just happened? Why was there such a powerful Spiritual Energy fluctuation?" Leon asked, steering a Divine Handsome Flying Dragon the color of Obsidian closer to Han Ning, his face filled with astonishment.

The pitch-black goggles he wore were now covered in a web of radial cracks, and chaotic streams of Spiritual Energy flickered wildly across the fractured lenses.

They were a product of Spiritual Technology left behind by the Alataku People, crafted primarily from the Elemental Crystal Stones found inside Soul Beasts and inscribed with corresponding Spiritual Arrays.

Their function was simple: to help Beast Masters analyze the circuit flow within Spiritual Arrays while they worked, thus conserving their Spiritual Power.

The fact that the Spiritual Goggles had shattered meant the recent wave of Spiritual Pressure had exceeded the threshold their lenses could withstand.

"I just gave Grey a powerful technological relic from a mysterious race. It helps to drastically raise its Spiritual Energy ceiling, and the effect is astonishing."

"I’ll release the method for creating the Energy Core internally later, so everyone can study it."

Leon was a trusted ally, so Han Ning explained the Energy Core’s purpose directly to him using his Spiritual Power.

In his mind, the panel truly was a relic from a mysterious race, so he didn’t see any issue with his explanation.

"Looks like you found something else useful in the Netherworld." Hearing that Han Ning had acquired new "technology," Leon couldn’t help but grin.

This meant they could use another one of that wondrous Alien Race’s products. How could he not be thrilled?

"HMMMM~"

Grey remained on the ground, savoring the lingering aftereffects of the Energy Core’s infusion. The dozens of Dark Type Soul Beasts surrounding it were all emitting fluctuations of varying intensity; it seemed they had all benefited greatly as well.

"This is a core secret for now. Don’t tell any of the other races yet," Han Ning said, winking at Leon.

"Right. Understood."

Just as they were speaking, several streaks of light flashed across the horizon.

Han Ning assumed it was just more people from the city who had seen the phenomenon and were coming to investigate.

But he never expected the newcomers to be Qingyao and, seated on the back of a Jade Aurora Dragon, the leader of the Dragon Blood Race himself—Qing Dou.

After half a year of research, the Blood Fusion Potion left behind by the Alataku People had been mostly deciphered by Hom and Sage, who had even developed a new version.

By following their research notes, one could have the All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm collect Soul Beasts from the Grudge Abyss that contained a certain amount of Alatak blood. This blood could then be purified to a specific degree and refined into a Blood Fusion Potion, or even a "Bloodline Pass" that the Wall of Nether Fire would recognize.

Every Beast Master who entered Night Nether City for Cultivation had a temporary pass valid for sixty days. With this special Bloodline Pass, they could freely enter and exit the city without being attacked by the Wall of Nether Fire.

As a leader, Qing Dou had naturally been given such a pass by the academy.

In truth, after burning for millennia, the energy leaking from the rifts to the Netherworld that fueled the Wall of Nether Fire had gradually dwindled. With Qing Dou’s level of power, he could have simply forced his way through it directly.

Han Ning looked surprised to see them.

"Leader Qing Dou, what brings you here?"

He knew Qing Dou was always busy with important affairs and wouldn’t have come here in person unless it was something critical.

And indeed, the Dragon Blood Leader’s expression was exceedingly grave.

"Something terrible has happened. A short while ago, the northwestern region of the Insect Continent—the territory controlled by the Sky-Splitting Instant Butterfly—was struck by a powerful force and vanished into thin air."

"Vanished into thin air?" Han Ning was stunned.

"Yes. Roughly a quarter of the continent has completely vanished, and all living things in that region have disappeared along with it."

"What’s in the place where it vanished?" Leon asked with a frown. Qing Dou hadn’t used Spiritual Power, speaking instead in the Insect Language, so all the onlooking Beast Masters heard him loud and clear.

Qing Dou glanced at Leon. He recognized the man and seemed to recall he held a high rank among the humans, so he suppressed the urge to rebuke him for interrupting and said flatly:

"It’s as if the entire continent has shrunk by a quarter. The space where the land vanished was simply filled in by the rest of the continent."

"What..."

At these words, the expression on everyone’s face changed drastically.

"The continent itself shrank... I assumed it would be more like a part of it being swallowed by the ocean, with the lost area left in some kind of spatial turbulence. I never imagined the entire landmass would just shrink to fill the void," Leon’s second-in-command, a Beast Master who had joined the academy more recently, said in astonishment.

"Normally, a continent eroded by a spatial storm would exhibit the features you described. The phenomenon Qing Dou is speaking of... is most likely the work of the Insect Queen."

A golden-red light flared, coalescing into the figure of a handsome young man.

Upon seeing the newcomer, everyone present, from the immensely powerful Qing Dou to the group of humans, bowed their heads respectfully. "Lord Sage."
