Chapter 422: Chapter 286: Racing Against Time 2

However... in the next second, a strange spectacle appeared!

A dazzling aurora suddenly pierced through the thick smokescreen, projecting a fine pillar of light into the deep, dark environment, much like the Tyndall effect.

In that instant, the pupils of every creature present contracted violently upon seeing the shimmering aurora.

The next moment, the solid smokescreen overhead—a veritable Maginot Line—abruptly shattered into countless wisps of smoke.

Immediately after, an endless, dazzling white light surged in, turbulent and overwhelming.

The light was blinding, revealing all things!

The utterly terrifying and tyrannical aurora banished every inch of Darkness, vaporizing almost all the hideous creatures hiding below into scorched, smoking husks.

Six behemoths, shaped like hyenas and over fifty meters tall, were not instantly vaporized. Covered in bizarre black scales, they stood in a triangular formation, their bodies constantly emitting inky tendrils of black smoke as they struggled to resist the encroaching light.

They radiated powerful Spiritual Energy fluctuations, but under the brilliant glare of the aurora, they were like Sun Wukong pinned beneath Five Finger Mountain—utterly immobile.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Over a dozen streaks of Flowing Light shot down.

They solidified into the figures of Qing Dou, Han Ning, and the others.

The creature seated on the throne of skulls, draped in a great feathered cloak, was still staring in disbelief at a black, gelatinous mass in its hand that resembled a jellyfish, murmuring syllables no one could understand.

"You’re Suo Ling?"

Qing Dou ignored the hideous creatures wailing in agony around them, their bodies trembling as the light burned them. He reached out and made a grasping motion.

An exquisite dragon claw that looked as if it were carved from jade shot out from his own talons, crossing dozens of meters to clamp down on the cloaked creature’s neck. He brutally dragged it toward him like a dead dog.

"You gutter maggot, only capable of using such low-down tricks. Speak! Who ordered you to do this? Was it Soron, or one of the other Abyssal Races?"

With a cold expression and without another word, Qing Dou reached out his other hand and snapped off the two acute angles on Suo Ling’s forehead.

At that moment, he finally revealed the chilling authority befitting the leader of an Ancestral Level family.

"AHHH!!!"

With the acute angles torn out, black blood sprayed from the stumps. Suo Ling couldn’t help but let out a piercing shriek, still roaring uncontrollably,

"Impossible! Impossible! Even my brother couldn’t break the Holy Shield! He said that even if the High Priest himself came... How could you...!!"

He seemed completely lost in his own world, as if he hadn’t heard Qing Dou’s question at all.

"Playing dumb?"

A dangerous light gleamed in Qing Dou’s eyes. With a grim smile, he thrust his sharp talons toward Suo Ling’s eyes and gouged!

Two blood-drenched eyeballs appeared between Qing Dou’s dragon claws, reeking of a foul stench.

Even Han Ning, watching from the side, felt a chill run down his spine at the gory sight.

This was the first time Han Ning had seen this side of Qing Dou.

Before this, Qing Dou had always presented himself as a kind of hapless, overworked middle-aged man, constantly stressed and running around because of his duties.

Now, Qing Dou had transformed from that hapless, overworked man into a cold, ruthless Upper.

’How could a Beast Master powerful enough to mediate between the Five Ancestor Families possibly be some hapless, overworked guy?’

Han Ning couldn’t help but feel a flicker of wariness toward Qing Dou.

’Perhaps... if humans ever happened to threaten the interests of the Dragon Blood Race, Qing Dou would probably show them this ruthless side too.’

"Kill me! If you have the guts, then kill me! I won’t say a thing! Kee kee, kee kee kee!"

Despite his gouged-out eyes, his ashen face smeared with foul-smelling blood, and his soft greatcloak splattered with dripping gore, Suo Ling continued to laugh maniacally, his throat forcing out an endless stream of irritating, bizarre noises.

"Qing Dou, I admit you’re strong. On this continent, perhaps only the Queen and the High Priest are your match. But so what? Your Dragon Blood Race is doomed to be annihilated. When that time comes, what can you possibly do all by yourself? Kee kee!"

Two dazzling points of light, like auroras, flared within Qing Dou’s emerald-green eyes. The dragon claw holding Suo Ling trembled slightly, clearly shaking with rage.

"Rest assured, I will make sure you don’t die," Qing Dou said through gritted teeth, enunciating every word.

He grabbed one of Suo Ling’s withered, ashen fingers and pulled.

The finger was torn off with tremendous force, revealing a cross-section of shattered bone.

"HSSS..."

"Go on, keep going. Let me just give you a friendly reminder: I’ve planted a Seed of Corruption in every single one of these Dragon Blood People. With a single thought, I can turn them all into piles of rotten flesh in an instant." Suo Ling only laughed maniacally, but the violent trembling of his body betrayed the inhuman agony he was suffering.

As expected, Qing Dou immediately froze. His face darkened as he asked in an icy tone, "What is it you want?"

"Kee kee kee~ Tell me, what are you doing in Night Nether City? Is this continent about to be destroyed?"

"Qing Dou Leader, let me handle this," Han Ning, who had been standing to the side, suddenly said.

"You intend to...?" Qing Dou seemed to have an idea.

"Yes. I’ll give it a try," Han Ning said with a noncommittal smile.

"He’s all yours. Just don’t let him detonate the Seeds of Corruption." Qing Dou hesitated for two seconds before finally tossing Suo Ling in front of Han Ning. His gaze was like a viper’s as he stared coldly at the man cackling on the ground.

Naturally, Han Ning intended to use the parasitic Subordinate Insects of the All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm.

It was clear that despite their power, the Dragon Blood Race lacked any Spiritual Secret Techniques for mental torment.

For Beast Masters who had reached Tier Four, mere physical pain was entirely bearable.

Only a pain that originated from the depths of the soul could possibly make them feel fear.

Qing Dou’s Spiritual Power was at Tier Four, making him a peak figure on the Insect Continent.

This meant that on this continent, the highest Spiritual Level a Beast Master could reach was only Tier Four.

The Suo Ling before him couldn’t possibly be a Tier Five Beast Master. The gap between Tier Four and Tier Five was a massive chasm, and without a sufficiently advanced Meditation Technique, an ordinary Beast Master could never comprehend the mysteries of Tier Five.

Han Ning leaned down, extended a finger to touch Suo Ling’s blood-soaked forehead, and asked casually, "Suo Ling, how are you feeling?"

"Who are you? You’re not one of the Dragon Blood People..."

Suo Ling tilted his head up slightly, his empty eye sockets fixed on Han Ning as if trying to size up who or what he was.

Before he could finish his sentence, a bizarre pulse of energy emanated from the other’s fingertip.

In the blink of an eye, an intense pain originating from within his Spiritual World crashed over him like a tsunami.

"Gnh..."

Suo Ling tried to scream, but the intense pain made it impossible for him to even open his mouth.

His ashen face became as pale as fallen snow.

He trembled uncontrollably, meaningless syllables spilling from his lips.

At the same time, from the bodies of the unconscious Dragon Blood People lying nearby, faint wisps of bizarre black smoke began to escape.

But... just as the black smoke began to emerge, it immediately vanished.

"Ghk... ghk... ghk..." Horrifyingly foul blood streamed endlessly from Suo Ling’s eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth.

Foul-smelling waste discharged from his lower body...

And yet, Han Ning remained leaning over him with a smile, as if consoling an old friend he hadn’t seen in ages.

’A dangerous human...’

This sight caused Qing Dou and the Dragon Blood Elders, who were watching from a distance, to feel a strange sensation in their hearts.

They couldn’t help but get the feeling that the young Beast Master from the Alien Race before them was even more dangerous than the Qing Dou Leader.

Suo Ling’s next words sent an inexplicable chill through their hearts.

"Respected Master, Suo Ling is willing to serve you."

Just moments ago, Suo Ling had been defiant, his face twisted in agony as he writhed on the ground. Now, he was like a slave, prostrating himself before the young Beast Master, ignoring the filth on the ground as he worshipped him as his Deity.
