Wilderness: I Tame Beasts to Survive

A tremendous roar, like thunder, echoed through the sky above the Grudge Abyss.

For a moment, even the free-floating Spiritual Particles in the void seemed to tremble and wail.

The destructive force unleashed by over ten Monarch Level Soul Beasts was so immense that even Han Ning and the others, far underground, could sense it—to say nothing of the creatures on the surface.

The ground cracked and split. The Gray Mist shrouding the Insect Continent was blasted apart by the shockwaves, revealing a sliver of azure in the distant sky.

Below, a bloody light blazed. Empowered by the Blood Boiling Silkworm's Blood Qi, the five Ancestral Level insects all turned the same scarlet as the High Priest's robes.

A berserk, bloodthirsty crimson light flickered in their eyes, and the ultra-powerful Soul Techniques they unleashed were all uniformly blood-colored.

Besides the Jade Aurora Dragon, the other four Soul Beasts were:

A humanoid Soul Beast with a dragon's head, an eagle's body, a pair of wings, and a long staff in its hand.

A giant green wolf covered in dark green fur with sharp, curved horns on its head.

A silver-feathered male eagle with a sharp, wide beak.

And the last one was a sapphire-blue beetle that was at least eighty percent similar to the Flying Armor before them—the one whose bloody aura surged to the heavens and whose Power could shake the earth!

Including the Jade Aurora Dragon hovering at the very front, pressed against the forest's Barrier, the five Soul Beasts radiated an incomparably tyrannical Spiritual Energy. Each one's strength was at least at the Middle Monarch level.

Although the five Soul Beasts had an astonishing presence, they remained behind the Barrier, not daring to take a single step over the line.

Just on the other side of the thin Barrier separating them, an eerie bloody light had already dyed half the sky over the Insect Continent crimson.

Specks of scarlet blood gathered from all directions, converging on the curled-up Blood Boiling Silkworm behind the High Priest.

"He's forcibly draining the blood of nearby creatures to replenish his own expenditure," Han Ning said, speaking his judgment through Suo Ling's mouth.

"The High Priest's strength is far beyond my expectations. Empowered by this bloody light, every one of his Soul Beasts is nearly at the Monarch Peak. I... I'm no match for him." Qing Dou's tone was heavy as he stared grimly at the five Soul Beasts frantically attacking the Barrier.

"It's unbelievable! How can that giant silkworm's body contain such abundant Blood Qi!"

Just then, a cyan light flashed beside Qing Dou, coalescing into the form of Akatos.

Unlike Qing Dou's Jade Aurora Dragon, Akatos was a Jade Rock-Splitting Dragon that controlled the Power of the forest and the earth. Its appearance was dominated by cyan and dark-brown rocky stripes, giving it an earthy, steadfast quality that the dazzling Aurora Dragon lacked.

"Qing Dou, forget you. Even if all of us combined our strength, we would be no match for the High Priest."

"I fear... he has borrowed the Queen's Power."

A field of crimson was reflected in Akatos's bright eyes, and its ancient, powerful draconic roar carried a new note of gravity.

Although Qing Dou had been mentally prepared, a flicker of disbelief still crossed his face when he heard Akatos itself admit that it was no match for the High Priest.

"The Jade Forest's Barrier probably won't hold for much longer. Their Power has already faintly surpassed the Monarch realm. Some invisible force is converting the Spiritual Energy of these five Soul Beasts, despite their different Attributes, into the purest form of Power, which they're using to relentlessly attack the Barrier." Every time the High Priest's Soul Beasts struck the Barrier, Qing Dou's expression grew uglier.

'Staying inside is a slow death. Rushing out... is certain death!'

Qing Dou couldn't suppress a wave of lingering fear as he recalled what had just happened.

If Acatos Ancestor hadn't used the Barrier's Power to pull them into the Jade Forest just in time during their clash with the High Priest's Soul Beasts, he and his Jade Aurora Dragon would have likely... been smashed to dust on the spot by that raw, berserk Power!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The five Soul Beasts, each with a different form, acted like crazed demons, endlessly manipulating the bloody Spiritual Light around them and using their physical Power to slam viciously into the Barrier.

Each impact sent violent, rippling waves across the massive Barrier, which stretched for countless kilometers, making it look as if it could shatter at any moment.

As for the High Priest, he remained silent. His withered hands were still tucked inside his long sleeves, and his face, hidden in shadow, was impossible to make out as he quietly watched the scene unfold without a word.

"Your Excellency Akatos, Qing Dou Leader, if necessary, I will have Suo Ling deploy his Undead Jellyfish Shield. However, his Contracted Soul Beast has limited Spiritual Energy and cannot protect the entire Jade Forest."

"Also, didn't you mention before that there was another wild Monarch Soul Beast in the Jade Forest? Why hasn't it appeared?"

Suo Ling, who had been standing on the Jade Aurora Dragon's back like a robot, suddenly spoke.

"You are... Han Ning?" Akatos glanced sideways.

Suo Ling gave a slight nod in acknowledgment.

"Thank you for your kind offer... Hmph... That old tortoise took its descendants and hid deep in the lake long ago. Why would it care if we live or die?"
