Chapter 433: Chapter 292: Route

"Qing Dou Leader, forgive me for asking, but do your other Soul Beasts have any fight left in them?" Han Ning asked hurriedly, seeing Qing Dou was trembling so much he could barely speak and was on the verge of collapsing.

"They’re all badly injured... But it’s just severe physical trauma. With a little time, the wounds can heal within the Soul Beast Space." After speaking, Qing Dou gave Qing Fan an expectant look, then closed his eyes and fell unconscious.

With Akatos and Qing Dou severely injured, their combat strength plummeted.

The strongest forces remaining in Night Nether City were now just Akatos’s former followers—wild Monarch Level dragons without Beast Masters.

"Huuu..."

Han Ning turned his head to the others in the human group and said,

"You all heard what the Qing Dou Leader said. We have to accelerate the construction and aim to complete the essential work within five days."

Academician Zhou Mingkai, who had been listening, frowned. "It’s not a simple matter of rushing to finish faster. We have to consider our current manpower. Even if we abandon some of the lower-priority tasks, we’d need over half a month, at the absolute minimum, to do it safely."

"We don’t have that much time... Professor Zhou, what’s holding us back? Is it the Spiritual Energy data collection system that can’t be ready in five days, or the Spiritual Array?" To distinguish the academician before him from Teacher Zhou back at the academy, Han Ning usually addressed him as Professor Zhou.

"The data collection system isn’t the most critical part. Even if it’s not finished, we can manage to navigate using the central control system left by the Alataku People... Right now, the entire Spiritual Array system on the Gray Demon Whale is about ninety-five percent complete. The last five percent is the balancing array for the spiritual energy diversion within Grey’s body. It’s the core among all the large arrays. If we don’t complete it beforehand, we could run into dangerous problems during the voyage."

Han Ning was also familiar with the Spiritual Energy Diversion Array.

This array system, composed of a huge number of complex smaller arrays, required its maximum load capacity to be designed based on the number of High-Level Soul Beasts living on the Gray Demon Whale and the variety of their Spiritual Ability Attributes.

Monarch Level Soul Beasts cannot be sealed with Sealing Techniques. This creates a situation where several Monarch Soul Beasts on Grey’s surface absorb and release Spiritual Energy with different attributes. The resulting powerful Spiritual Tides would interfere with Grey’s senses—since he is a pure Dark Soul Beast—and could even cause some of the Spiritual Arrays to fail.

The purpose of the Spiritual Energy Diversion Array was to absorb these dissipated Spiritual Tides and either convert them into a usable secondary power source or safely discharge them into the Subspace, preventing Grey from losing his way.

To put it simply, it’s like having several massive electronic devices operating inside an airplane during flight. Whether the resulting electromagnetic interference affects the plane’s navigation depends on whether the designers took the proper preventative measures beforehand.

Han Ning thought for a moment before speaking. "Here’s the plan. I’ll create a few Puppets and station them at the entrances to the Grudge Abyss. If the High Priest enters the Abyss, the Soul Beast he’s riding is bound to cause intense fluctuations in the surrounding Spiritual Particles. When that happens, we won’t hesitate for a second. We’ll activate the Gray Demon Whale and leave this place immediately."

According to the design parameters from the panel, once activated, Grey’s travel speed would be no slower than a Middle Monarch flying at full speed. Conveniently, Night Nether City is in the eastern part of the Grudge Abyss, a direction with no surface entrances. The only three entrances are to the west, north, and south, and all of them are at least 4,000 kilometers away. If we detect him the moment he enters, Grey can escape in the other direction.

Furthermore, the immense Spiritual Pressure Grey emits while traveling will be masked by a special Spiritual Array. It will be very difficult for any nearby creatures to detect the Spiritual Pressure spreading from him unless they are within a ten-kilometer radius.

"Of course... this all assumes Barry doesn’t know the special way into Night Nether City. In any case... I’ll do my best to set up monitoring. If we detect Barry approaching, we’ll evacuate immediately."

The panel’s parameters indicated that any being below Monarch Level whose Spiritual Power hadn’t broken through to Dark Star Tier Five would find it nearly impossible to detect Grey’s movements.

Han Ning had 99% faith in the panel.

So... even if Barry got within a 100-kilometer radius of Night Nether City, Grey would still have a chance to slip away undetected, provided the entire Spiritual Array system was fully inscribed.

"I suppose that’s our only option. In an emergency like this, there’s no such thing as a perfectly safe plan." Dean Wu sighed, then immediately rallied the others to head for the construction site.

Just as the group of humans was leaving, Qing Fan quietly stopped Han Ning and asked in a low voice, "Han Ning, about the Second Elder... what should I do?"

He was, after all, only a teenage Dragon Blood Person, and with his father now unconscious, he seemed completely at a loss.

"With your father unconscious, can you still contact the Second Elder? If so, tell him to find a chance to enter the Grudge Abyss on his own. I’ll send people to a predetermined location to meet him."

To be honest, Han Ning didn’t want to get involved with the Second Elder. But, as luck would have it, he had just recently signed a Spiritual Contract with the Dragon Blood Race, which obligated him to bring the elder to safety.

"I can... but... What I mean is, this whole incident feels very suspicious. I can’t rule out the possibility that the Second Elder deliberately lured my father to the Jade Forest..." After the events of the afternoon, Qing Fan had become paranoid.
