Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 924 - 94: Eliminating Together"But let’s be clear beforehand, if Jon is there, we’ll let him go this time."
After Chen Wen agreed, he immediately added, "This guy is quite familiar with my former teammate Dennis. Let’s give him some face; you might need to survive with Dennis later on."
Vikram readily agreed to this point.
As long as it’s not people from Nuo Bu, it’s all good!
After reaching an agreement, Vikram invited Chen Wen to rest at his camp.
Chen Wen nodded in agreement.
However, before going over, Chen Wen needed to gather his animals.
Asking Vikram to wait a moment, Chen Wen patted the Golden Eagle’s body. As it flapped its wings and let out a sharp screech,
the surrounding animals, hearing the call of the Golden Eagle, came rushing over.
The first to arrive was the River Curve Horse herd.
The lead stallion strode over with its head held high and swaggered up to Chen Wen, lifting its head to scrutinize the somewhat dazed Vikram.
"Is this your companion? Why does he look so silly?"
The stallion walked over to Vikram’s side, craning its neck to observe this unfamiliar human.
Chen Wen reached out and pulled the stallion back.
"These are my animal allies."
Chen Wen laughed and explained to Vikram, "It hasn’t seen many humans, so it’s curious about you."
Vikram nodded stiffly.
But he quickly realized something was off!
What the hell!
Animal allies?
Do you call a whole herd of horses animal allies?
Vikram grumbled internally while glancing over at the horse herd.
His eyes swept over the items on the horses’ backs, all of which were Chen Wen’s provisions!
This discovery surprised Vikram; how did he get so many supplies?
And with so many horses, do they all really listen to Chen Wen?
Did Chen Wen rob a herdsman of his property?
Just as Vikram was about to inquire Chen Wen, a Snow Leopard’s head appeared over the hillside.
Not only that, it had a dead pika in its mouth.
The Snow Leopard had just gone hunting.
For a top predator of this plateau, catching a pika was as easy as stopping by the dock for some fries.
Seeing the Snow Leopard, Chen Wen was naturally not surprised.
But Vikram was different.
He stared wide-eyed and gaped at the Snow Leopard, struggling to form words but managing nothing.
"Don’t be nervous."
Chen Wen didn’t specify whether he was reassuring the Snow Leopard or Vikram.
He smiled and said, "The Snow Leopard is very safe. It’s also my ally, and the reserve is aware of it, Hunting Owl probably knows well too."
Vikram nodded slightly.
But shortly after, when he saw three fluffy little ones,
his temporarily calm heart surged again with emotion.
Vikram pointed at the Snow Leopard cubs, "And these little ones..."
"The same."
Chen Wen said as he picked up one of the cubs that came running over.
"Alright, your methods of taming animals..."
Vikram didn’t know what to say.
But soon, Vikram experienced the convenience of having tamed animals.
Chen Wen chose a very gentle sorrel mare and let Vikram get to know it better.
Once the mare was no longer wary of Vikram, Chen Wen had Vikram ride it.
With the horse to ride, Vikram only needed to guide the direction from the saddle, and the stallion would lead the herd in that direction.
This made Vikram incredibly envious.
"While we’re laboring tirelessly to travel, you merely need to ride and can match our efforts multiple times over, truly..."
Vikram was filled with envy.
Chen Wen laughed, "It’s not bad, but having so many animals isn’t always convenient; at least a third of each day must be spent on feeding and watering them."
Saying this, Chen Wen rummaged through his backpack and tossed Vikram two milk candies, "Not many left; eat them when needed; they can quickly replenish energy at critical times."
After taking the milk candies and sniffing their aroma,
Vikram still voiced his curiosity, "Did you rob or steal from a herdsman? Why do you even have these things?"
Chen Wen chuckled, "Just lucky. Came across a herdsman, helped out a bit, and that’s the reward they gave."
Hearing this, Vikram was filled with envy.
This must be a host country’s advantage!
After all, he had encountered herdsmen too and had exchanged greetings in semi-fluent Chinese.
But when the herdsmen saw he wasn’t from Hua Country, they wouldn’t even interact with him, let alone give any resource information.
This left Vikram quite annoyed.
If only the Eight Extremes Challenge had a segment in India!
But reflecting on the situation in India, only the rainforest regions were fit for survival.
And in such places, the chances of encountering people are exceedingly rare.
Shaking his head, Vikram didn’t say much more.
Guided by Vikram, before long, Chen Wen arrived at Vikram’s camp with his large entourage.
It was a rocky slope, where Vikram used a huge rock to set up a makeshift shelter below.
Though called a shelter, it was more of a shack, extremely basic.
Chen Wen glanced at the shelter, deciding to find another spot to rest.
Vikram knew his surroundings weren’t the best either.
He said, "I have some weapons here. Since I can’t use them, see if there’s anything you can make use of."
Jumping off the horse, Vikram went to the side of the shack.
Reaching in, he pulled out a bundle fashioned from clothes.
It clattered with a variety of items as he opened it.
Among the weapons were survival tools.
After looking them over, Chen Wen shook his head, "I can’t really use any of these."
Vikram was surprised, looking at Chen Wen, "Not even the bow and arrow?"
He picked up a short bow, a piece acquired from a previously eliminated contestant.
"I can’t use a bow and arrow."
Chen Wen shook his head again.
The fact that Chen Wen couldn’t use a bow was known by many associations.
It seemed Vikram wasn’t the type to follow other contestants closely, quite self-assured indeed.
Chen Wen considered for a moment and said, "You should keep these for yourself. Besides, I noticed you don’t have much food; I can share some with you as a basis for our cooperation."
Hearing Chen Wen’s generous words, Vikram felt he couldn’t be stingy either. He replied, "Alright, since you said so, tomorrow when we attack those people, you get first choice of spoils, and how about you take seventy percent of the food while I only take thirty percent?"
Chen Wen nodded.
He was quite satisfied with this distribution plan.
At this moment, Vikram looked at the animals, tempted and asked, "Tomorrow, can these animals join the fight?"
Chen Wen shook his head decisively.
Against heartless poachers like Hunting Owl, he had no qualms letting the animals fight.
After all, Hunting Owl was an undeniable enemy to both the animals and himself, a mortal foe.
Yet those survival contestants were somewhat different from Hunting Owl.
They couldn’t be considered enemies, only competitors.
Moreover, these contestants were armed; if a conflict occurred, the animals could easily get injured.
So if they could avoid fighting, they would.
Seeing that Chen Wen wasn’t planning to have the horse herd join the fight, Vikram was a bit disappointed.
If the horse herd could charge in, they could win without casualties.
