The mutated fox slammed into the front line. But Michael’s team was ready. The exact second Rashid and Maximilian braced for the impact, Lukas lunged forward and hit the beast’s thick chest armor with his spear.
**[Weight Manipulation]** activated.
Lukas’s talent could not crush a monster completely. It could only make a target 15% heavier or lighter. But in a fast fight, 15% was all it took. By instantly adding 15% more weight to the charging beast, its balance broke. The creature’s front paws buckled under its own heavy momentum, and its claws skidded wildly across the stone floor.
„Under the jaw! Strike right under the jaw!“ Sarah screamed from the back.
With her **[Precision Focus]**, she could see the hidden, weak spots on the monster’s body. Unfortunately, she could not share her vision, so she had to yell the directions to the front line.
Hearing her shout, Jonas acted immediately. He stepped up and used **[Sunder]** to swing his spear hard against the monster’s lower jaw area. The heavy blow cracked the thick fur, breaking its defense. Right after Jonas’s hit, Lukas lunged over his shoulder driving his iron spear point straight into the open crack.
Meanwhile Jakob aimed his spear at the following monster and used his talent. A small explosion blasted inside the monster’s flesh, and the beast collapsed heavily to the floor.
But there was no time to rest. Behind the dead body, the dark lecture hall was full of movement. Sophie’s **[Environmental Radar]** pulsed wildly in her mind.
„Three more coming! Fast!“ she warned loudly.
Two foxes tried to force their way through the door at the same time, snapping their jaws. On the left side, the new recruits—Konstantin, Valerie, and Tobi—panicked as a sharp mouth lunged at them. Their knees shook, and their line began to break under the sheer terror.
Suddenly, a blur of motion cut through the group.
Michael appeared at the left side. Thanks to his experience and incredible Willpower, he saw the battlefield much clearer than anyone else. While Sarah spotted the weak spots, Michael’s mind mapped out the whole fight like a chess game. He tracked every claw movement, the reactions of the beasts, and the weak points of his own breaking line.
A fox lunged at Konstantin. Michael intercepted it, stabbing his iron spear straight at its eye slit. But the Level 3 beast was not helpless; it jerked its head aside. The spear point skidded off the thick bone-plate. The beast roared, snapping its huge jaws inches away from Michael’s face.

Utilizing his speed, Michael did not panic. He stepped right into the beast’s guard and used the shaft of his spear to push the snapping mouth away. With a brutal, powerful push, he rammed the iron tip deep into the soft flesh under the jaw—the exact spot Sarah had called out before. The beast thrashed violently, its heavy claws ripping up pieces of the granite floor, nearly pulling the weapon out of Michael’s hands before it finally died.

Before he could even pull his spear back out, the second fox overran the front line. Its heavy shoulder slammed into Maximilian, forcing him to one knee. The beast raised a heavy paw to crush him. Maximilian used his Strength Boost to power himself up and tried to withstand the monster with sheer force.
Michael let go of his own spear completely and dove across the bloody floor. He grabbed a dropped spear from the ground that belonged most likely to a student who died during the second wave. Michael used all his strength to drive it upward into the soft neck joint of the beast. The wooden shaft bent under the immense pressure, but the tip went deep, cutting deep through the monsters flesh. A thick wave of dark blood sprayed across the stones. The creature roared in agony, thrashing blindly for several terrifying seconds, nearly crushing Michael before its massive body finally crashed down.

By fighting hard to get those two solo kills, Michael completely took away the deadly pressure that was about to break their left flank. The students gasped, staring at the massive, bleeding bodies. The sudden safety allowed their racing hearts to slow down.
„Keep your tips up!“ Michael’s cold voice snapped them back to reality as he pulled his iron spear out of the first corpse. „Hold the gap!“
Encouraged by his help, Konstantin and Valerie pushed their spears forward together, pinning a third, smaller variant against the heavy door frame. On the right side, Alina, Sebastian, and Mira worked together, using their long reach to stop another beast, focusing hard on getting their own level-ups.
Deep inside the dark entrance, a very large Level 3 monster—scarred, heavier, and smarter than the rest—saw that the doorway was a trap. It jumped completely over the dead bodies of its pack, aiming straight for the center of the main line to tear Rashid apart.
„Left shoulder! It’s favoring its left shoulder!“ Sarah yelled, keeping her eyes locked on the jumping predator.
But the monster was moving too fast for a normal attack.
„David!“ Michael commanded without looking back, having already tracked the jump from the corner of his eye.
From the back line, David’s eyes flared. He raised his hand, casting **[Gravitational Force]** directly beneath the flying predator.
An invisible, heavy weight slammed down on the giant fox mid-air. The beast was dragged violently out of the sky, crashing hard onto the stone floor a few feet short of the front line.
„Finish it together! Now!“ Michael ordered the line.
Maximilian roared, using his strength boost to drive his spear through the beast’s soft belly, while Kilian stepped up from the reserve line. But they weren’t alone. Seeing the massive monster pinned and helpless on the ground, a wave of other students from the group overcame their fear.
Spears shot forward from all sides. Tobias, Alina, Sebastian, and several other Level 2 survivors lunged forward in unison, completely surrounding the trapped creature. They drove their wooden recruit spears deep into the fox’s flank, its throat, and its sides, piercing its thick hide over and over again. The monster let out a final, suffocating gurgle as a dozen spear points punctured its vital organs at the exact same time.
The doorway had turned into a bloodbath. Blood pooled black across the stone, mixing with fur and broken claws where the dead foxes lay stacked against the frame.
