They couldn’t help looking at the other cells that were in this area as well, but Su Ling didn’t seem to react at first.

It was only after the last cell that Su Ling shook her head at them.

Seeing this, they had no choice but to give up on trying to claim the items that were in those cells. Su Ling’s authority just wasn’t enough to open those cells, which wasn’t strange considering she was just a disciple.

Though it was also possible that there was nothing in those cells at all.

Su Ling didn’t communicate with anything other than gestures and it wasn’t as if Lin Fan could understand everything through their connection. The only thing that he understood was the general gist of what she was trying to communicate.

But in the end, the largest deciding factor was that he knew that they shouldn’t be greedy.

Being greedy for something like this really wasn’t the best survival strategy in a place like this.

It was best to know when to take a step back and not go too far.

Though it wasn’t as if Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan could help themselves from taking a few more looks at the cells that they passed.

They didn’t know what was inside of it, but they knew that it wouldn’t be that poor.

What they had obtained from this place were cultivation techniques that would be considered precious even to the elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect. They were cultivation techniques that could even help them with their cultivation.

Su Ling naturally knew what they were thinking, but it didn’t seem like she cared at all.

Instead, she brought them to a different place.

This was a location that seemed out of place for this law enforcement pavilion, but it wasn’t as if it didn’t belong at all. It was one of those places that was still necessary since even the law enforcement pavilion needed to record things.

Once they overcame their surprise, Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan treated this place even more seriously.

After all, this was the place where they might be able to find some of the answers that they had been looking for.

It wasn’t certain that they would be able to find those answers, but this was certainly a better place than most to try and find those answers. This was a records room in the main part of the Dao Sect, so the information that was stored in this place was incomparable to anything that they had seen so far.

But it wasn’t as if they were allowed to read it right away.

When Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan tried stepping forward, they found that there was something that prevented them from heading over to the main part of the records room.

Instead, it was only a small part of the room that they were allowed access to.

Looking at Su Ling and how she looked at them, it wasn’t hard to figure out what the reason for this was.

"So Su Ling’s authority isn’t enough for us to read more than this..."

Even though it didn’t seem like much, these were still records that were kept by the Dao Sect. Even after all this time, it didn’t seem like these records had faded away at all.

That was why Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan still went forward to read what was written on these records. However, they couldn’t help feeling disappointed when they saw what was written.

"These are records on the prisoners that are kept in this place."

It wasn’t surprising that this was a record of the prisoners and that this was what Su Ling had access to.

In the past, a disciple at her level would have been in charge of watching over these prisoners. So it was only natural that she would have access to the records regarding these prisoners.

In fact, they couldn’t help feeling a bit surprised by the records that they were reading.

After all, the level that these prisoners had been at was quite surprising for them.

Even if they had an idea of what level these prisoners should have been at, it had been proven wrong when they read the records. It turned out that these people were far stronger than they initially thought.

In the end, this was just a testament of the strength that the Dao Sect possessed to be able to imprison those people in the first place.

At the same time, it was no wonder they were able to pass down that kind of cultivation technique in the first place.

The more that they read, the more certain that they were that this was nothing more than a record of the prisoners that were inside of this law enforcement pavilion.

It was even quite well organized with the way that all of the records fell into place, so it wasn’t as if there was anything that could be hidden in this place.

That was why both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan felt like this had been a waste of time.

It was Xiao Mu that actually found something useful in the end.

Xiao Mu had been silently following along and had scattered quite a few pieces of paper around. It really felt like Xiao Mu had just been causing a mess for the sake of causing a mess, but that wasn’t what Xiao Mu was doing at all.

When Xiao Mu pulled out some hidden reports, it seemed like this was what it had been looking for the entire time. It even seemed like Xiao Mu had a good idea that they had been there the entire time with how Xiao Mu had dug these out.

"Did you know beforehand?" Lin Fan couldn’t help asking in the end.

However, Xiao Mu actually gave a simple shake of the head before saying, "I have an idea of how they hide things because of what I’ve observed from my master."

Hearing this, there was a faint smile that appeared on the faces of both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan.

He thought that it was just the information from the database, but it turned out that it was from Xiao Mu’s own inferences. It seemed like Xiao Mu really was becoming more and more human with its own memories.

But it wasn’t as if Xiao Mu was going to become human right away, there was still some time before Xiao Mu really learned how to become human.

"Let’s take a look at these."

Ye Qing Huan didn’t even wait for him to say this as she had already taken the reports that Xiao Mu found and was going over them. But with the look on her face, it seemed like things weren’t as she expected.

"Or perhaps it was as she expected and that is what caught her off guard." Lin Fan couldn’t help wondering at first, but he still went to look at the same pieces of paper that Ye Qing Huan was looking at.

When he saw what she was reading, he couldn’t help being surprised as well.

After all, the things that were written on this report really were a bit too much.

The problem was that there were only pieces of information that were left on this report.

It seemed like these were nothing more than preliminary reports that had come to the Dao Sect about the disaster. Or else they wouldn’t have been hidden in a place where even a disciple had access to.

If they wanted to learn more about the disaster, they would have to find even more detailed reports. If they wanted to find even more detailed reports, then they would need greater access to this records room.

That was if there were things that were hidden here, but it seemed like Xiao Mu could confirm this.

"I can see the traces of something being hidden, so there are things that are further in this room as well."

During all of this, it really didn’t seem to matter to Su Ling at all what they were doing.

So in the end, they focused back on the information that they had just learned.

"It’s related to the upper realm after all, isn’t it?"

No one responded after Lin Fan said this.

These words just hung in the air after he said this, as if none of them could answer this question. But in their minds, they already had their answer so it wasn’t as if there was a need for anyone to say anything.

None of them were fools and they could tell from the things in the reports that what they were reading were signs that the upper realm was moving.

This was a theory that they had previously, but it wasn’t something that they had been able to confirm.

It was just that now there was evidence in front of them, this wasn’t something that could be ignored that easily.

It turned out that their guesses had been close.

Though thinking about it, it only made sense since it was only the upper realm that could have done something like this.

But it wasn’t as if this was confirmed either.

After all, the only things that were on the reports were only the signs and not the results. So it wasn’t as if they could just use this alone to come to this conclusion.

"Let’s forget about this for now." Lin Fan proposed after a long silence.

Ye Qing Huan didn’t fight this as she agreed with a simple nod.
