The next three days passed fast.

Each day was almost identical, with Godric spending almost every waking hour inside the training facility, where Raven joined him daily for an hour or two.

Her requests about that bubble tea ’date’ kept growing, but Godric managed to get out of each conversation, using the collection of his armour as his latest excuse.

Unfortunately, the armour Julian promised in three days wasn’t ready yet.

When Godric entered the tailor shop, it looked less like a place where fabrics were woven and more like a forge, with a massive furnace standing where a cupboard full of fabrics used to be.

The mad tailor himself looked as though he hadn’t slept for the entirety of those three days, which was probably the less concerning thing about him. The man’s conversations with himself sounded as though a new ’person’ had joined them, turning and making suggestions into thin air, with someone nodding at the responses.

The man couldn’t give Godric a new deadline, but he promised to have the armour ready before the tournament.

His exact words were: "I’ll sever my hands again before missing another deadline."

Whatever that meant.

Stepping out of the tailor shop, Godric headed straight home.

The sparring sessions had been extremely exhausting, especially since he was unwilling to use more than just Blackpearl to duel Skybreaker.

Before he would leave the academy grounds, however, he found a small crowd of students gathering near the main hall.

He wanted to ignore it at first, but then a flicker of curiosity brought him closer, close enough to see a large board with a list of names on both sides.

Each name had an opponent, and as he got a little closer, he immediately recognised what it was.

The Tournament draw.

It had been posted half a day early, which is probably why everyone around him was so eager to see the list.

Scanning the list on the left, Godric couldn’t help but frown as he failed to see his name.

He did, however, see Raven paired against a student named Nathaniel Bearwood.

Godric almost felt bad for the student. First draw, and he was already drawn against a prodigy from a Great House.

Feeling bad for the student who was most certainly going to lose, Godric turned his attention to the list on the right, where he finally managed to find his own name.

Godric Blackstar VS Felicia Solvaine

’Solvaine...?’

Godric raised a brow.

House Solvaine was one of the Great Houses, but unlike most, which liked to stay in the spotlight, being seen and, most importantly, worshipped by people, House Solvaine resided outside the city walls and across a mountain range named after their Great House.

In truth, Godric expected the director to come up with some easy matchup for him. After all, the goal of his entire participation was to win a single round, announce his guild and retire from the tournament.

Of course, Godric had no intention of joining a tournament he wasn’t going to try and win. But the matchup itself seemed almost like a test. As though the director wanted his first round to already be a statement.

A low murmur rippled through the gathered students, pulling Godric from his thoughts.

"Did you see the right bracket?! Felicia Solvaine joined the tournament!"

"The frost queen?! I heard she stopped attending the academy because people dropped at the sight of her beauty!"

"Wait! Raven fights on the same day. I can’t believe we’re going to witness such beauties in a single day."

Listening to the whispers around him, Godric almost winced in pain.

Still...

As painful as it was listening to those around him, he too couldn’t help but wonder about his soon-to-be opponent.

Ice-elemental beasts were a common trait in House Solvaine.

People often speculated that their living up on the mountains full of ice might have something to do with it, but of course there was no proof connecting one’s surroundings to the beast they summoned.

Though curious, Godric couldn’t spare another second standing around in the academy.

Today all his things would be moved out of the outskirts and be delivered to his new home, where he was supposed to meet Mina to unpack them all.

Leaving the crowd of eagerly excited students, Godric left the academy and went straight to his new home.

Surprisingly, there were no boxes left outside.

’Seems like Mina had already started.’

Stepping inside, he came to a sudden halt as he saw a pair of sneakers, definitely belonging to his sister and a pair of pristine white high heels.

Before he even had a chance to close the door, he overheard laughter spreading from inside the house, coming most definitely from the kitchen area.

Godric stepped further inside, following the sound toward the kitchen, and stopped in the doorway.

Mina stood by the window, a large plastic cup with a straw in her hand, while Raven sat cross-legged on the table, drinking from an identical cup.

"—and then he just stood there, completely frozen, staring at the phone as if it had personally betrayed him!" Mina was saying, wheezing through her own laughter. "I have never seen a grown man look so personally attacked by a wallpaper!"

Godric watched the two girls laugh maniacally as though it was the world’s greatest joke before he overexaggeratedly cleared his throat.

Both girls turned at once, wearing nearly identical expressions of zero remorse.

"Oh, Godric, you’re here," Mina said with a mischievous grin. "Raven and I were just... talking."

He looked between the two of them. His younger sister and the heiress of a Great House, now apparently co-conspirators in his humiliation, standing in his new kitchen like they’d known each other for years rather than just a single afternoon.

Noticing a moment of lingering silence, Mina slowly retreated from the kitchen, leaving the two ’lovers’ alone to settle their squabble.

Turning to face Raven, he asked: "What are you doing here?"

Raven lowered herself gracefully from the table, then walked slowly toward him.

"Bubble tea, remember?" Raven said, glancing down at the cup in her hand. "I brought only two, and your sister took the other one, but here..." she said, lifting her own cup toward him, the straw smudged in her lipstick. "Have some of mine~"
