Chapter 437: Chapter 425: Opening a New Path

Allen’s figure reappeared in the Cybertron Main Control Room.

He stood still as a mountain, his black robes hanging loosely. It was as if the bloody, thirty-hour battle that had nearly drained every last drop of his Spiritual Power, and the tense confrontation with King William, had never happened.

Only Jarvis knew what a torment it was for Allen to maintain the Allen Network at that moment.

The Spiritual Power assault from the Dawn Star Level being, though weakened through multiple layers, was still like a poisoned steel needle lodged deep in his Sea of Spirit.

Every time he processed information through the network, an agonizing pain, like his very soul was being torn apart, accompanied it.

Without several months of rest, a recovery would be difficult.

"Jarvis." Allen’s voice betrayed no fatigue, but his closed eyes revealed his current state.

"Pull up the combat data for all King Level units from the Beast Tide war. Cross-reference it and build behavioral models."

[Instruction received. Importing data... Building models...]

Images of the eleven Kings of Heart-eaters flashed rapidly through Allen’s mind, repeatedly slowed down, frozen, and magnified.

Their claws that tore through Golem shields, the strength of their scales, and even the way they manipulated Magic Power were all broken down into the most basic data.

After a long while, he stopped his analysis and opened his eyes.

"Tally all combat losses. Golems, ammunition, spare parts... all consumables. Immediately begin the highest priority production sequence. Replenish our stockpiles, regardless of cost."

[Acknowledged, Commander. All production lines have been activated. We estimate that the lost Golems can be replaced within 12 days, and conventional ammunition stockpiles will be restored to pre-war levels.]

Allen did not respond.

He watched the waterfall of data cascading before him. The stabbing pain in his Sea of Spirit forced him to expend three times his usual effort just to maintain efficient thought.

Yet, his mind uncontrollably flashed back to the ash that filled the sky over Golden Stone City, and to William’s eyes—a mixture of anger and humiliation that had finally settled into a dead silence.

"We have shed blood for a thousand years... Aiselans do not fear death."

"Commander."

Jarvis interrupted his reverie. "Based on your agreement with King William, I have drafted three compensation plans."

[Plan A: Industrial Cornerstone]

Provide a full upgrade to their industrial system, including blueprints for the Earth Vein Magic Furnace, and permanent, large-scale defensive fortifications sufficient to turn the Aiselan Kingdom into an iron fortress.

[Plan B: Legion Lease]

Offer the Aiselan Kingdom a long-term lease of five standard Golem Legions, including a full suite of logistical maintenance and periodic weapon upgrade services.

[Plan C: Technological Path]

Provide a complete, transcendent technological path that mortals can learn and pass down through generations.

Allen’s gaze swept over the three plans.

’Plan A only treats the symptoms, not the root cause. A wall can’t stop true terror.’

’Plan B is like drinking poison to quench a thirst. It would make Aiselan’s dependence on me bone-deep, completely stripping them of any chance at independence. Given William’s personality, he probably wouldn’t accept it anyway.’

He looked at Plan C.

’William wants the power to hold the hilt of the blade himself. Plan C best meets his demands.’

[Risk Assessment: Transmitting transcendent knowledge may cross the bottom line of an unknown entity’s rules. Risk Level: Extremely High.]

Jarvis’s notification flashed before his eyes.

Allen’s thoughts drifted back to three days ago, to the ten-thousand-meter deep abyss shrouded in a Magic Power storm.

His Spiritual Power had pierced through the storm, and what he saw was not just a massive, living arsenal.

When that "hive-mother" awakened and a billion wills converged into a single Spiritual Power assault that blasted toward him, he had clearly "seen" the essence of that power.

It was by no means a chaotic, wild form of Spiritual Power.

It was a kind of "Spiritual Witchcraft," precisely calculated, highly condensed, and obedient to some form of strict Law!

The way its Magic Flow circulated, its techniques for using Spiritual Power, and even the traces of a certain kind of "Rune" it contained all had the distinct flavor of Wizard Civilization.

Whether that Dawn Star Level being was the true "rancher" was still inconclusive.

But this continent was indeed the "pasture" of some powerful Wizard, and the Heart-eaters were merely the tools used to periodically clear the weeds.

His own prying had attracted its attention, but after that single strike, there was no follow-up.

It was a warning.

The meaning was clear: "Don’t meddle in what doesn’t concern you."

Allen understood, but the people of this continent could not.

The indomitable spirit of William and the Aiselans was meaningless before such an existence, as fragile as a piece of paper.

Right now, if he were to teach the Aiselans the Basic Meditation Method, the study of Runes, and the knowledge system of Wizards...

Once one of them successfully advanced, became capable of soaring through the sky and diving into the deep sea, and once again touched upon that being’s domain...

What would follow would no longer be a simple warning.

It would be a "cleansing."

He had promised William to give them power, but he could not give them a path leading to their own destruction.

"I cannot hate you... Weakness is the original sin."

"I want the kind of power you have, a power that can slay gods, one that can be passed down through the generations of Aiselan’s people!"

William’s hoarse roar still seemed to echo in his ears.

Allen’s fingers tapped unconsciously on the armrest.

’I cannot teach them the Wizard system. That is a red line.’

’But I never break a promise.’

’Is there a type of power that can give them the ability to fight the Heart-eaters without crossing the high-voltage line of "Magic Power" and "Spiritual Power"?`

’External objects can also lead to godhood...’

’That is the philosophy of the Alchemy School.’

Allen’s gaze fell upon a Factory Servant in the corner of the main control room.

’Golems...’

’The Aiselans have already mastered basic Alchemy Technology and can manufacture various parts.’

’They don’t understand Meditation, so they can’t link to a Golem’s Control Core with their Spiritual Power, nor can they inscribe complex drive Arrays...`

’But what if there was another way to pilot them?’

’What if... Golems no longer needed a Wizard to "link" with them?’

’What if the Golem’s Control Core was modified into a cockpit that could accommodate a "pilot"?’

’To use the trained hands and feet of a mortal to replace the will of a Wizard.’

’They wouldn’t need to understand the principles of Magic Power; they would only need to learn how to operate a complex "machine."’

’They wouldn’t need to temper their spirit, only their combat skills and their iron will.’

Allen could almost see a completely new vision of the future.

On the coastlines, it would no longer be infantry groups fighting, but massive, humanoid Mecha piloted by the Aiselans themselves. They would roar as they defended their homeland with fists of steel.

They would have power.

They would also personally bear the impact of every Beast Tide, and the casualties of every battle.

The hilt of the blade would truly be in their own hands.

And the price would also be theirs to pay.

This was what William wanted.

This was what the Aiselans needed.

An unprecedented, transcendent path of Alchemy unique to them, paved with blood and steel.

’Why does it feel like the genre just switched from Western fantasy to sci-fi?’

’Ah, whatever. A point in the tech tree is a point in the tech tree. It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice.’

"Jarvis."

Allen stood up, the stabbing pain in his Sea of Spirit seeming to have lessened considerably.

"Establish a new project."

"Integrate all my knowledge regarding Alchemy, Golem Science, engineering, and Magic Furnaces."

"Objective: Design and manufacture... Alchemical Mecha, piloted by mortals."

"It will have an independent cockpit, a complex neural connection system, and an operating system that mortals can control directly."

"I will give them pilotable Steel Giants."

"I will give them weapons capable of tearing apart behemoths."

"I will give them the complete technology for manufacturing, maintenance, and iteration, allowing them to build their own ’gods’ for protection!"

"In the future, whether you can forge your own path, whether you can, with mortal bodies, stand against gods—that will be up to you, Aiselans."
