Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Chaos Wheel
Building on his experience with the Three Wonders Wheel, Andre forged the Wheel of Light and Darkness with ease, although it took him a bit longer this time.
Unlike the Three Wonders Wheel, the Wheel of Light and Darkness was shaped like a stone and as thick as a millstone. Without an infusion of Chaos Magic Power, anyone who found it would assume it was just an ordinary rock.
"Light Technique, Dark Devouring!"
Andre continuously spun the Wheel of Light and Darkness in his hands, unleashing one Witchcraft technique after another to test it. He discovered that without Chaos Magic Power to mediate, the Power of Light and Dark would clash violently upon the Stone of Time.
But with Chaos Magic Power acting as a harmonizer, the Demon Patterns inscribed on the Wheel of Light and Darkness began to seep deep into its core.
As this phenomenon occurred, the conflict between the forces of light and dark began to diminish. Simultaneously, the gray exterior of the Stone of Time started to change.
To investigate further and see if this phenomenon was an isolated case, Andre took out the Three Wonders Wheel. He cast several Witchcraft techniques, and the results were identical to what he’d seen with the Wheel of Light and Darkness.
’It seems the erosive effect of the Chaos Magic Power has altered the function of the Demon Patterns.’
Andre observed the changes on the Three Wonders Wheel and the Wheel of Light and Darkness, nodded, and then fitted the Wheel of Light and Darkness into the Three-Seven Wheel.
The moment the two wheels were nested together, a dense gray mist erupted from them.
’Light and dark can naturally merge to form Chaos. With the addition of the three powers—thunder, ice, and flame—the residual Chaos Magic Power was activated, giving rise to this scene.’
Andre looked at the two fused wheels and gave them a slight turn.
A Thunder Strike Technique, half again as strong as before, came crashing down, instantly blasting a large crater in the ground.
A moment later, a gurgling sound came from within the crater.
Andre turned the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel again, and a hissing sound immediately came from the crater.
It was the sound of magma hitting groundwater, causing it to vaporize.
Next came the fourth wheel: Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire.
Andre took out the previously repaired Four Major Elements Crystals and began forging.
This time, it took him a full month to forge the fourth wheel.
After forging it, he conducted another test. Once he finished testing the wheel by itself, he fused it with the other two wheels and gave it a turn.
A single Thunder Strike Technique struck the ground, instantly creating a crater over thirty meters wide. And that wasn’t all; after the first strike, several more followed.
’Stacking the three wheels together directly empowers the Witchcraft. The Thunder Strike Technique has been amplified into the Thunder Burst Technique.’
Andre looked at the several large craters in the ground, then back at the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel in his hand.
With the three wheels nested together, the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel began to spin on its own, without him needing to turn it with his fingers.
At the same time, the gray mist surrounding the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel grew thicker.
Any object touched by the gray mist was completely devoured, its essence absorbed as power for the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel.
Next up was the most difficult wheel of all: the Chaos Wheel.
Andre put away the three-part wheel and downed two Potions to bring himself to his peak condition.
Once he was fully recovered, Andre began forging the Chaos Wheel.
Unlike the other three wheels, which required Elemental Crystals, the Chaos Wheel’s primary requirement could be summed up in a single word: hardness.
It had to be hard enough to withstand the corrosive erosion from a full-force infusion of his Chaos Magic Power.
Andre placed the Ancient Time Bronze into the main crucible of the Melting Furnace Array Pattern to smelt it.
The smelting process alone took three months. Afterward, Andre mixed the refined Ancient Time Bronze with solutions of the other required materials.
Simultaneously, he imbued the Witchcraft Array formed from Demon Patterns into the mixture.
This was different from the other three wheels, where the Demon Patterns were inscribed on the surface using a Demon Pattern Mold.
For the Chaos Wheel, however, the Demon Patterns were driven deep into its core. The difference in effect between an internal and an external array was like night and day.
This difference also increased the difficulty of forging the Chaos Wheel several-fold. If even a single Demon Pattern failed to be inscribed correctly, all the materials would be completely ruined.
Therefore, Andre chose to use his Chaos Magic Power as a carving knife, etching the Witchcraft Array directly into the depths of the Chaos Wheel.
Another month passed before Andre finally finished forging the Chaos Wheel.
The moment it was completed, the Chaos Wheel began to absorb an infinite amount of Magic Power, even forming several Magic Power storms in the sky above it.
This spectacle drew the gazes of countless observers, but as soon as their magical sight reached the area, it was shattered by the surging Magic Power.
’What kind of weapon did Andre forge to create such a massive display of Power?’
Farrete slowly closed his eyes, mending the shock to his Soul from his scrying Witchcraft being shattered. At the same time, his mind was filled with endless questions.
It had only taken Andre six years to become an Official Wizard, a fact that was already astonishing.
But considering Andre’s status as a Master Alchemist, six years seemed reasonable.
For a Master Alchemist, six years wasn’t a long time at all; one might even call it a bit slow.
’And now Andre had forged such a terrifying Witchcraft Artifact... Don’t tell me he’s also cultivated Witchcraft Artifact Study to the Master level?’
Master Alchemist, Master of Witchcraft Artifacts, Master of Magical Plants, and Master of Demon Patterns.
’A master of the four major disciplines, all in one person... That’s simply heaven-defying. In fact, even "heaven-defying" isn’t enough to describe Andre.’
The commotion also alerted Radak, who had taken notice of Andre’s activities back when he was forging the Three Wonders Wheel.
When Andre had completed the Three Wonders Wheel, he had been somewhat surprised, wondering what kind of Witchcraft Artifact Andre had made.
It wasn’t until the Wheel of Light and Darkness appeared that Radak understood Andre was forging a tailor-made, exclusive set of Witchcraft Artifacts for himself.
No one but Andre himself would have any way to operate this set of Witchcraft Artifacts.
At the same time, he was a little surprised by the sheer scale of Andre’s project.
’How long has it been since Andre became an Official Wizard, and he’s already started forging his own set of Witchcraft Artifacts?’
Forging a Witchcraft Artifact wasn’t a big deal for an Official Wizard, but the problem lay in the fact that it was a complete set.
The cost of a custom-made set of Witchcraft Artifacts was incomparably higher than that of individual ones.
With each additional piece, the resources required would multiply, as would the risk of failure.
’And Andre had forged four pieces in one go—and succeeded. From the looks of it, these four pieces were only part of a larger set of Witchcraft Artifacts.’
This couldn’t help but make Radak feel astonished by Andre’s Talent for forging Witchcraft Artifacts.
And this was the fifth time Andre had astonished him.
The first time was his astonishment at Andre’s Talent for Demon Patterns.
The second was for Magical Plants, the third for Potions.
The fourth was the path Andre had proposed for himself and successfully realized—that had been the biggest surprise Andre had given him in the past six years.
And the fifth time was now, with the forging of these Witchcraft Artifacts.
