Wizard: I Have a Cultivation System

Chapter 560 - 19: The Fifth Fundamental Force

Chapter 560: Chapter 19: The Fifth Fundamental Force

In the normal, observable material world.

High temperatures are generally caused by the increased thermal motion of microscopic particles, leading to more intense electromagnetic interactions. On a macroscopic scale, this manifests as heat conduction, thermal radiation, and thermal expansion.

In other words, if "fundamental forces" did not participate in the interactions between matter,

then the phenomena associated with high temperatures would not exist.

In the world of unobservable matter, however, Dark Matter can only transmit interactions through gravity and other fundamental forces that are not the electromagnetic, strong, or weak forces.

The interaction second only to gravity is Spiritual Power.

Spiritual Power was, of course, named by Murphy. Since Murphy called unobservable matter "Spiritual Qi," it naturally followed that the force would be "Spiritual Power."

But in the lexicon of Wizards, this is called Magic Power.

Of course, it can also be called Mana.

This is, naturally, the Mana in Murphy’s Dantian.

Yes, Mana is a type of fundamental force.

Therefore, it can create all sorts of natural phenomena through different Dao Patterns, or even directly.

After all, so-called natural phenomena are merely different manifestations of the forces between matter.

Murphy simply named the non-man-made, natural version "Spiritual Power" to distinguish it from Mana.

And whether it is gravity or Spiritual Power, both share a common characteristic: their interactions are extremely weak.

According to the theories from his past life, and Murphy’s own observations in this one, Dark Matter particles can pass through each other without any obstruction.

What does this mean?

Simply put, it means that if an Extraordinary Being were capable of destroying a star in the world of observable matter,

he might not necessarily be able to kill a powerful individual who can only destroy a building with a single blow.

This is the worldview of unobservable matter.

It so thoroughly violates the common sense of the observable material world.

But in the end, to affect a substance, an interaction must occur.

The interactions between unobservable matter are so weak that this phenomenon is a natural result.

And their so-called star-busting and building-busting are ultimately just manifestations in the world of observable matter.

It is a completely different matter from the world of unobservable matter.

So much has been said.

All to express a single point.

Namely, that when Murphy jumped into the furnace, the damage he sustained was not as great as one might imagine.

Although his body was disintegrating, his soul was disintegrating as well.

To be more precise, for a being like him who had begun to achieve the Unity of Spirit and Body, the disintegration of the body was the disintegration of the soul.

But he could still endure it.

And relying on his own spiritual perspective, he clearly "saw" the world within the furnace.

The observable matter that constituted the bodies of the gray-skinned people who had jumped into the furnace with him was almost instantly incinerated into dregs upon touching the lava.

But the other half of their existence—the unobservable matter that belonged to their souls—survived within the blazing flames.

They were like motes of light, stripped of all impurities, drifting in the golden molten liquid. Their faces showed expressions of peace, and their forms maintained a basic humanoid outline.

Not only that, but Murphy clearly sensed a vast power surging from the depths of the furnace. This power guided those souls, drawing them into a golden torrent composed of countless points of soul-light.

This torrent snaked through the golden furnace, flowing toward a deeper, more scorching core region.

Seeing this, an idea sparked in Murphy’s mind.

He allowed himself to sink into the golden torrent formed by the countless converging souls.

The surrounding soul-lights bustled about, yet they displayed a strange sense of tranquility and contentment.

Following the torrent, Murphy descended continuously.

The color of the surrounding molten rock gradually shifted from a dazzling gold to a richer Dark Gold, and then to a bronze-gold hue like molten bronze.

The temperature rose sharply, and the pressure became terrifying—several million standard atmospheres, with temperatures reaching thousands of degrees Celsius.

But for a being like Murphy, who was on the verge of becoming unobservable matter, even the heart of a nuclear explosion was not enough to kill him. As long as this degree of damage remained within the domain of the three fundamental forces besides gravity, it might as well not exist.

And even though only a tiny fraction of his substance had yet to be converted into unobservable matter, it was protected by the vast majority that had already transformed. Thus, his core was not significantly affected.

The real threat was the power of Dumasong contained within the molten rock, which continuously burned away the "impurities" of the soul.

This was the same power that had been disintegrating Murphy’s body earlier.

And these so-called "impurities" were the parts of the soul that did not believe in Dumasong.

For a higher-level existence like a Divine Spirit,

what was an unknowable part for Murphy—the soul—was something they could see through at a glance.

Burning and separating it was a simple matter.

But perhaps because this was a dreamscape,

the furnace’s disintegrating power over Murphy wasn’t very strong—not even strong enough to force him to use his Mind Furnace.

So Murphy continued to descend with the torrent, deeper and deeper.

And as Murphy advanced,

the speed of the torrent seemed to accelerate, like a waterfall being frantically pulled by the planet’s gravity, pouring toward an unknown destination.

The surrounding soul-lights began to draw close to each other, yet also repelled one another slightly. But the substance comprising the souls began to homogenize, producing a resonant-like fluctuation, as if following some ancient rhythm, chanting a kind of sacred hymn.

Murphy was amidst them, and some mutterings originating from the souls’ instincts echoed directly in his consciousness.
