Chapter 566: Chapter 22: Ancient Heart Demon Embryo

The second path was simple. If the connections between matter were weak, he just had to strengthen them.

Weak connections are like water—a simple cut cannot sever the bonds between its particles.

Strong connections are like a solid—once cut, it can hardly mend itself.

This is because the intermolecular forces in water are weak, allowing it to flow and re-form freely.

In contrast, the atomic forces in a solid are strong and its structure is fixed. Once broken, the original strong bonds are difficult to restore.

Murphy made up his mind.

A dazzling crimson light suddenly erupted from his body.

In the blink of an eye, Murphy’s human silhouette dissolved into the light. In its place hovered an ancient longsword, roughly 1.6 meters long and entirely crimson.

Inscribed upon its blade were complex and esoteric Dao Patterns of dark gold. These markings weren’t static; they pulsed and flowed as if breathing.

Then, the crimson Longsword trembled lightly.

HUM!

A deep, clear ring from the sword pierced through the viscous lava and the whispers of souls, echoing distinctly in the depths of the furnace.

As the sword rang, three crimson blades of light, nearly identical to the original, split off from the sword’s body, solidifying like reflections on water.

In an instant, the four crimson longswords took up positions in the four cardinal directions, centered around the blazing white vortex.

East, south, west, and north.

The position of each sword corresponded precisely to a key node in the flow of Spiritual Power within the furnace—or rather, a weak point in the Dao Pattern network that formed the intangible defense.

As the four swords settled into place, an invisible Force Field began to form.

Countless fine, crimson rays of light extended from the tips of the four longswords and the Dao Patterns on their blades. They crisscrossed between the swords, rapidly weaving a complex, three-dimensional web of light.

This web of light was the trajectory left in the world as Spiritual Power transmitted Energy.

Each crimson ray followed a specific Dao Pattern that Murphy had derived using his Mind Furnace, forcibly intervening in the area’s originally loose and weak flow of Spiritual Power.

The feedback from the Mind Furnace flashed rapidly through Murphy’s consciousness.

The four crimson longswords, serving as the formation’s core, steadily outputted power to maintain the web of light as it gradually covered and permeated the area around the blazing white vortex.

This was the [Four-Symbol Spirit-Solidifying Sword Array], a formation Murphy had temporarily devised through his [Mind Furnace] and [Celestial Craftsmanship "Slightly Accomplished"].

Its core principle was to use a precise array of Dao Patterns to forcibly enhance the Spiritual Power connections between the unobservable matter in the target area, transitioning it from a "weak and fluid" state like water to a "strong and fixed" state like a solid.

It was like using countless invisible needles and threads to stitch an ethereal cloud of mist into a tangible piece of cloth.

Once the Spiritual Power connections were enhanced and solidified, the intangible property would be weakened, perhaps even temporarily nullified.

The Divine Spirit and its creations would be forcibly pulled down to the mortal plane, becoming vulnerable to lower-level powers.

"By array, solidify spirit. By will, turn void to substance..."

Murphy’s consciousness, at the heart of the Sword Array, began to chant a Spell.

When one’s precision in manipulating Spiritual Power was insufficient, it was impossible to directly control matter with enough accuracy to form Dao Patterns.

That was when external forces were needed.

And a Spell was just such an efficient external force.

It was like how mortals cannot directly manipulate molecules to synthesize substances particle by particle. Instead, they use chemical equations to describe reactions and macroscopic methods—like heating, stirring, and catalysts—to facilitate the directed combination of microscopic molecules.

Spells worked the same way. Through specific syllables, rhythms, and spiritual resonance, they induced a sympathetic vibration in the Spiritual Power of the world. This indirectly yet effectively influenced, shaped, and even catalyzed the formation and transformation of Dao Patterns.

Amidst Murphy’s deep, rhythmic chanting, the crimson web of light supported by the four swords began to undergo an even more complex evolution.

The crimson rays flowing through the web began to reorganize and optimize in accordance with the resonance transmitted by the Spell, growing denser and more orderly.

Countless new, microscopic, secondary Dao Patterns spontaneously formed at the web’s nodes, connecting and reinforcing the structure like synapses in a neural network.

The "Spirit Solidification" and "Manifestation" efficacy of the entire Sword Array increased level by level as the Spell progressed.

As the Sword Array operated at full power, the scene around the blazing white vortex began to change drastically, the effects visible to the naked eye.

The vortex’s seemingly eternal rotation slowed by more than ten percent.

The torrent of souls at the vortex’s edge—which had been flowing in like countless rivers to the sea, drawn into fine threads of light by an unseen force—now seemed to be caught in a thick gel. Their flow became sluggish and intermittent.

The invisible barrier surrounding the vortex, which Murphy had previously found impassable, now rippled under the crimson web’s ever-stronger permeation and envelopment. It was like the surface of a lake struck by a stone, sending out layer after layer of clearly visible, pale-gold ripples!

Within these ripples, illusory golden Dao Patterns began to flash frequently—patterns that were more complex, more ancient, and filled with a sacred aura!

That was the most direct Origin Manifestation of the residual Dumasun Divine Power. They were the fundamental Dao Patterns that constituted this intangible defense.

Or, one could call them Laws.

’Dao Patterns! Dao Patterns!’

’Sufficiently complex and versatile Dao Patterns are, in essence, a Law.’
