Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree
Chapter 1019 - 852: Beauty Shell’s SecretThe breath that the Duke captured with his Spiritual Power was like the dark currents at the deepest part of the ocean, cold, massive, and unfathomable, deliberately suppressed to almost blend with the environment, but occasionally, a very slight wave would escape. Just that small trace instinctively raised the hairs on Duke’s back.
The other party allowed him to sense it on purpose; it was a silent intimidation.
It was like an ancient beast hidden in the abyss slightly opening an eye, taking a glance at him, and then closing it again.
"Alright." After pondering for a moment, Duke withdrew his gaze and nodded at Serafina.
Serafina’s eyes instantly lit up, her deep sea aquamarine eyes forming a tiny ripple under the moonlight, and her mouth curved into an uncontrollable arc.
But she quickly realized she was smiling too obviously, hurriedly cleared her throat, and resumed her dignified royal posture, though the slightly flushed ears and the fingers tightly gripping her dress completely betrayed her.
She turned around and walked towards the Coral Steps, taking two steps before looking back as if afraid Duke might change his mind, adding, "My territory isn’t far from here, sitting on my Imperial Chariot we’ll arrive quickly."
Following her, Duke stepped onto the Coral Steps, which slightly depressed under his feet and quickly rebounded, feeling not like stepping on stone, but more like a very thin elastic membrane.
The inside of the Imperial Chariot was far more spacious than it appeared from the outside, the space seemed to be folded in some way, enough to accommodate several people sitting side by side.
The moment Serafina sat down, several Sea Dragons raised their heads simultaneously, their slender necks bending in unison into a posture ready for expedition, and the water element reins in their mouths glowed with a deep blue light.
The Deep Sea Maidens silently retracted the Coral Steps, and the phalanx of Deep Sea Knights parted neatly like Moses Parting the Sea, making way for the Imperial Chariot.
Under the escort of hundreds of Knights, the chariot gently submerged into the water. The instant the sea overhead closed, all moonlight and ship shadows were isolated above the water surface, leaving only the blue cold flame burning at the tips of the tridents of the Sea Race Knights, forming a flowing galaxy in the deep sea.
On the deck, Old Joseph finally released his grip on the helm, slowly sliding down beneath it.
He fetched the tin flask that never left his side from his bosom, took a deep swig, and then shouted towards the cabin direction in a voice hoarse to the point of losing sound, "Everyone get up, it’s all over."
The merchants kneeling on the ground looked at each other, none able to utter a word.
The chariot traveled smoothly through the deep sea. Through the translucent crystal walls of the Coral Imperial Chariot, Duke could see the ever-changing wonders of the deep sea outside.
Endless underwater mountain ranges covered with glowing moss illuminated the entire seabed into a blue fluorescent plain.
Flocks of deep-sea fish, like flowing silver ribbons, shuttled around the chariot, occasionally having a few bold ones swim close, but were startled away by the faint green glow emitting from the Sea Dragons’ mouths.
In the distance, a giant underwater volcano was slowly erupting, the magma rapidly solidifying into obsidian-like solid matter in the cold seawater, spreading numerous dark red cracks from the volcano’s mouth. The edges of the cracks continuously spawned hot bubbles, cooling midway in the sea, turning into fine volcanic ash and drifting down slowly.
The Sea Race Knights arrayed on both sides of the chariot maintained a rigorous escort formation, yet Duke could clearly feel that the Deep Sea Knights closest to him never loosened their grip on their tridents.
Their Spiritual Power, like countless fine probes, had locked onto him indistinctly from the moment he stepped onto the chariot, with undisguised vigilance.
This vigilance had nothing to do with the comparison of strength, even if Duke was just a Level 3 Junior Mage, while Serafina, whom they were protecting, was already a Level 4 Life, they dared not relax in the slightest.
In the deep sea, all the Sea Race knew the weight of the word "Wizard."
They loathed Wizards, loathed those robe-wearing fellows who intruded into the deep sea to slaughter Sea Race for materials, capture Sea Beasts, or even secretly eat Beauty Shells.
But they also feared Wizards, feared the Wizard Plane’s colonial system spanning countless Planes, feared those Level 6 beings inside the Six-Ring Tower, feared that the conquest troops of the Wizard Council might appear over any sea area at any moment.
This intertwined emotion of loathing and fear was entirely reflected in those hundreds of Spiritual Power probes tightly locked on Duke’s back at this moment.
The chariot continued diving northwest, passing through a dense forest formed by giant seaweed, then through a concealed current barrier within an underwater canyon, suddenly opening up to view.
Duke squinted slightly as he gazed forward through the crystal wall.
It was a palace, but not one built on the flat seabed.
It floated between two underwater mountains, supported by hundreds of thick Coral pillars, and the glow moss naturally growing on the Coral pillars illuminated the entire palace like a full moon in the deep sea.
The main structure of the palace was built from white and pale gold seabed Crystal Stones, with towers and dome outlines incorporating a kind of flowing curve alien to human architectural aesthetics, each curve lending the entire palace an aura of both solemnity and lightness.
Dozens of auxiliary towers surrounding the palace had semi-transparent Shields formed by condensed Water Element layered within each other, resembling a giant bubble encapsulating the entire palace; the surface of the bubble flowed with a dense array of defensive runes, each flicker releasing a faint Energy ripple that repelled impurities within the surrounding seawater and any unauthorized Spiritual Power probes.
