The position of War Leader is one of real authority, but this power cannot be wielded at any time or place.
Normally, it’s just a title, and only during wartime does it become substantial.
The Black Sail hasn’t had major operations in recent years, allowing him to continue with his own affairs without being tied to this role.
"Thank you, Lord Swain, Duke is willing to accept," Duke said respectfully.
Swain nodded, taking out a palm-sized alchemy board from the drawer and placing it on the table.
"Give me your badge."
Duke removed the Black Sail Badge from his chest and handed it over.
Swain placed the badge on the alchemy board, tapping it a few times with his fingers.
The alchemy board emitted a faint blue glow, scanning the badge, and after a moment, the light subsided. Swain then pushed the badge back to Duke.
"The permissions have been updated. From today, you are a War Leader of the Third Legion." His tone remained calm, "Lucas will provide the relevant information to you, and you’ll be notified when operations arise."
Duke nodded, listening intently.
Swain then conversed with Duke for a while, discussing internal matters of the Black Sail, generously praising Duke.
Duke’s Blood of War Potion and White Mist Forest Potion brought tangible benefits to the Black Sail.
Now, the White Mist Forest Potion has become the most popular meditation aid potion across the Wizard Plane and its subordinate planes.
Just as Duke initially predicted, even wizards for whom the White Mist Forest Potion wasn’t suitable opted to purchase it.
The automatic meditation feature is overwhelmingly powerful, enough to overshadow various drawbacks.
After finishing the conversation with Swain, the sky had completely darkened.
There was no moonlight on the sea, only the silhouette of the Elizabeth gleamed faintly in the mist.
Duke returned to the Deserted Island, stepped onto the pier, and headed towards the castle.
Sea wind pushed behind him, making the Magic Robe flicker loudly.
The following days weren’t idle; there were more banquets hosted by the Giant Rock Commerce Association, with attendees not only from the commerce association but also various forces from the West Coast.
Duke found it hard to refuse, after all, he was a wizard from the West Coast and had to show some respect.
A week later, things finally settled down.
Light God Court.
The Spring of Life shimmered under the sunlight, with ten plants growing well, the World Tree seed still immersed at the bottom of the spring, and beside it, the golden tea emitting a soft glow.
Everything seemed normal, but Duke could sense that the development of this realm had slowed down.
He closed his eyes, letting his consciousness merge with the rules of the Divine Court.
He was the sovereign of this realm; here, he was the rules themselves.
The area, energy density, life aura, power of faith, all were as clear as fingerprints in his perception.
Fifteen thousand square kilometers.
This growth rate hasn’t increased for a long time; the development of the Light God Court depends on the power of faith, which comes from the Light Sect followers of the Oracle Plane.
The more followers, the stronger the power of faith, and the faster the Divine Court expands.
But in recent years, the growth rate of the power of faith has evidently slowed down, almost stagnated.
The reason isn’t hard to guess; the Light Sect in the Oracle Plane has reached a bottleneck in follower growth.
Duke’s consciousness immersed into the Light Divine Status, locating the white light representing Robert, and sent a wave of spirit to the distant plane.
A moment later, a familiar voice sounded in his consciousness.
"Lord?"
Robert’s tone carried a hint of surprise and a trace of respect.
Duke rarely contacted him actively; the last time was half a year ago.
Generally, Robert left messages for Duke, who would check them when he had the time, occasionally paying attention to Robert’s situation and that of the Oracle Plane.
"Robert, how is the situation there?" Duke asked.
Robert’s reply came quickly.
"Lord," his tone was bitter, "the environment here is much harsher than the Oracle Plane, the free energy particles in the air are so sparse they are almost undetectable, and the cultivation efficiency is shockingly low. If not for the Light Divine Breathing Technique that can produce energy particles itself, I wouldn’t be able to cultivate here at all."
"What level have you reached?" Duke asked.
"High-tier Knight Attendant." Robert paused, "Still far from becoming a First-level Knight."
Duke was silent for a moment; a High-tier Knight Attendant is nothing in the Oracle Plane.
But in an environment like Mercury, reaching this level is already not easy.
Though the Light Divine Breathing Technique can create energy particles itself, its speed and concentration are far inferior to direct absorption from the environment.
Robert relying on perseverance, not talent, reached the High-tier Knight Attendant level in such a place.
"What about the Oracle Plane?" Duke asked, "How is the Light Sect doing?"
Robert’s tone turned more serious: "Lord, the situation is not optimistic."
Duke said nothing, waiting for him to continue.
"These years, the Four Gods Sect has developed rapidly." Robert’s voice was low, as if sharing some unspeakable secret, "Their number of players is increasing, as well as their experts. Our Light Sect, although also with new players joining, cannot match them in quantity and strength."
Duke frowned further; the Four Gods Sect was the largest force in the Oracle Plane.
Previously, the Light Sect struggled to contend with the Four Gods Sect, and now with players gradually joining, the Four Gods Sect has grown even stronger.
