Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 890 - 787: Oracle Plane (2)

The door of the basement is cast from magic metal, massive and cold, with intricate runes engraved on its surface.

He pushed open the door, and inside was a small room, with complex patterns engraved in the center of the floor.

This is the teleportation point specially prepared for the Coordinates Earring, allowing him to depart safely from here without being noticed by anyone.

Duke took out the heart-shaped Coordinates Earring, which glimmered faintly in the dim basement, a sign of the Power of Faith reaching its pinnacle.

He extended his Spiritual Power into it, perceiving the stored coordinates.

Nightmare Plane, Wood Elf Plane, Oracle Plane... one familiar point of light after another appeared in his consciousness, and then he chose the coordinates of the Oracle Plane, injecting his Spiritual Power into the earring.

After a dizzying sensation, Duke opened his eyes.

He stood in a small room, its walls, desks, chairs, and bed all made of wood.

The air carried a faint scent of herbs mixed with dust.

A few weak beams of moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating a row of empty crystal bottles on the table.

This is the backyard of the Star Embers Potion Shop, the small house he bought many years ago.

Duke pushed open the small house’s door and walked into the backyard.

The yard was paved with bluestone slabs, and weeds grew in the cracks.

A few wooden boxes were piled in the corner, meant for storing Magic Potion Materials.

An old, rusty iron lock hung on the yard gate, with dim streetlight shining through the crack.

He walked through the yard and pushed open the door to the lobby.

The lobby’s shelves sparsely displayed several rows of magic potions, with crystal bottles varying in shape and size, and labels with crooked handwriting.

Duke picked up a bottle and held it up to the moonlight outside the window, seeing that the liquid inside was murky, dark in color, with faint sediments.

He pulled out the bottle stopper, and a pungent, scorched smell hit him.

This wasn’t a magic potion he refined, nor was it even a potion he recognized.

This was the stuff concocted by players themselves, or rather, all potions in the Oracle Plane were like this.

The potion level in the Oracle Plane was inherently low, and those players starting from scratch had done well to produce something like this.

But in Duke’s eyes, these hardly counted as potions.

He returned the bottle to the shelf, his gaze sweeping over the names on the labels: "Primary Healing Potion," "Primary Magic Power Potion," "Primary Antidote Potion."

The names were properly given, but to a Wizard, their effects might only be slightly better than drinking plain water.

Luckily, they were cheap and selling them to those beginner players was a business in itself.

Duke didn’t linger in the lobby for long.

He walked past the counter, pushed open the front door, and stood in the secluded alley.

Night wind blew in from the alley’s entrance, carrying a hint of chill.

The distant dome of the Divine Hall shimmered faintly in the moonlight, and the bell tower had just rung the time - it was 9 o’clock at night.

Duke stood in the alley, closed his eyes, and sank his consciousness into the Light Divine Status.

Countless points of light flickered in the void of the Divine Status, the soul marks of the followers from the Light Sect.

He found the point of light representing Robert, sending a wave of spiritual impulse far away.

Soon, a familiar voice echoed in his consciousness.

"My lord? You’ve arrived?" Robert’s tone was filled with obvious surprise and joy, along with a hint of nervousness.

Duke had mentioned he would come over, but when he contacted Robert, Robert was still very surprised.

"I’m here," Duke’s voice was calm, "at Azure Vault City, Star Embers Potion Shop."

"I’ll be right over." Robert’s voice became urgent.

Before long, hurried footsteps echoed from the alley entrance.

Duke opened his eyes, seeing a figure emerge from the shadows.

The silver-white light armor of the Knight glowed with cold brilliance under the moonlight, a longsword hanging by the waist, the strides steady and powerful.

The armor had minimal decoration, only a small Star Embers Guild emblem engraved on the chest.

His features were more mature compared to years ago, a sharpness added to his brows, yet those eyes still contained Duke’s familiar caution and keen insight.

Robert stopped before Duke, knelt on one knee with his right hand over his chest: "My lord."

Duke looked at him and nodded: "Rise."

Robert stood up, his gaze lingering on Duke for a moment before quickly shifting away.

He didn’t ask why Duke suddenly came or what Duke brought; he merely stood there, like a sheathed sword - steady, reserved, ready to unsheathe at any moment.

Duke patted the stone steps beside him: "Sit."

Without hesitation, Robert sat beside Duke.

The collision between armor and the stone steps produced a crisp sound, particularly clear in the quiet alley.

The surroundings had long been protected by a Witch Array laid by Duke, so there was no need to worry about the sound leaking out.

"How’s the guild now?" Duke asked.

Robert didn’t answer immediately.

He remained silent for a few moments, as if organizing his thoughts or considering how much to say.

"Star Embers Guild now has over two thousand people." His tone was steady, devoid of any boast, "Over six hundred core members, all have signed contracts in reality. The constraints are strong, no need to worry about loyalty issues."

Duke neither nodded nor shook his head, simply listening quietly.

"These two thousand people are distributed across various cities in the Oracle Plane, some in Azure Vault City, some in Abilane, some at more distant borders," Robert continued, "We have our own information channels, supply lines, and battle formations. Although it doesn’t match the foundation of those major sects, among player factions, Star Embers is still one of the very best."

Robert paused.

"The Four Gods Sect also has several large player guilds, with larger numbers than ours, but they’re loosely organized. They lack the contractual binding, relying on interests to hold them together, less cohesive than us," he spoke with a hint of confidence, but soon restrained it, "But this is merely temporary. If their factions can reach internal agreement, our advantage will disappear."

"How’s your situation in reality?" Duke suddenly changed the topic.

Robert thought for a moment, the moonlight outlining the resolute contours of his face.

"I’ve already started discreetly using Extraordinary Ability to handle affairs in reality," his voice was very low as if sharing an unspeakable secret.

Duke didn’t press for details about what kind of affairs he was handling; it was unnecessary for him to know.

For a second-generation member of the Mercury financial group, what one does after gaining Extraordinary Power is self-evident.

"Is it safe?" Duke asked.

Robert nodded, "It’s hidden, won’t be discovered. My current power has surpassed the average Mercury individual’s understanding; the methods I can utilize are beyond their imagination."

The divine hall’s distant bell tower rang again, this time marking 10 o’clock.

The bell’s resonance echoed through the night sky, distant and lingering.

Duke and Robert had conversed for about an hour, gaining more detailed information about the Oracle Plane’s current situation.

Subsequently, Duke took out a silver-white ring from the Space Ring and placed it in his palm.

The ring’s surface was engraved with intricate runes, emitting a faint blue glow under the moonlight.

"This is a Space Ring, containing supplies for six hundred people."

"Your core members are six hundred; each person gets two Level 1 weapons, a set of Level 1 armor, and five boxes of potions, enough for them to use for a long time."

Robert took a deep breath, holding the ring tightly in his palm.

He understood what these supplies meant.

In the Oracle Plane, a good weapon could boost an ordinary knight’s strength by thirty percent, while good armor could mean an extra life on the battlefield.

Six hundred sets of equipment were enough to double the overall strength of Star Embers Guild’s core members.

And those potions were invaluable treasures with no market price; the potion refining level in the Oracle Plane was inherently low, and the crude potions concocted by players themselves couldn’t even match the secondary potions refined by Duke.

Robert solemnly knelt with one knee, his right hand over his chest: "My lord, Star Embers Guild will never disappoint you."

Duke nodded: "Go now; I still need to visit the Light Sect. I’ll notify you if there’s anything further."
