The army at the foot of the distant mountain is Duke and his squad’s opponent.

The 235th Legion aims to dismantle the last few strongholds of the Molten Spirits east of the Redridge Mountains today, pushing the battle line to the foot of the mountain.

Their squad is assigned to a flanking position, not the main assault direction, so they don’t need to charge into battle.

Duke and his squad’s mission is to hold this area and prevent the Molten Spirits’ army from breaking through here.

The slave creature army assigned under their command is already lined up under the tower, totaling twenty thousand.

Looking out, the grey-white volcanic ash terrain is densely packed with slave creatures, stretching from the foot of the tower to the horizon.

They are arranged in neat squares, each square consisting of five hundred, forty squares crossing each other, forming a massive rectangular formation.

Heavy units, long-range units, casting units, and mobile units are all present, arranged methodically.

The army’s commanders are two Level 3 multi-armed species, one male and one female, with slender bodies, their four arms crossed over their chests, standing at the frontline looking up at the tower peak.

The female multi-armed species is primarily responsible for direct combat command, whereas the male multi-armed species chiefly manages the mobile units on the flanks.

They are the highest commanders of this slave creature army and will use their own experience and judgment to direct the army’s combat before Duke and his squad issue orders.

The Molten Spirits’ army has arrayed themselves several kilometers away.

From the top of the tower, the dark red ground appears as if the Molten Spirits’ army is a sea of fire, turning the grey-white volcanic ash terrain a dark red.

The front row consists of Magma Giants, about three thousand, with massive bodies ranging in height from five to ten meters, completely covered in dark red scale armor, with lava flowing through the gaps. They wield huge stone hammers or iron hammers, whose heads burn with flames.

They are the main force of the Molten Spirits, possessing immense strength and formidable defense, able to crush multiple slave creatures into pulp with a single hit.

The middle row features Flame Warriors, numbering approximately eight thousand, humanoid, larger than humans, covered entirely in dark red scale armor, with flames jetting from the joints, holding Flame Longswords or spears condensed by flames.

They have impressive speed, agility, and destructive power, slaughtering within the ranks after the Magma Giants tear open the defense line.

The rear row contains Flame Priests, about three thousand, varying in appearance with some resembling humanoid forms and others resembling beast forms. They share the common trait of wearing ornaments made of bones and crystal stones, gripping magic wands forged from obsidian and lava.

Their task is spellcasting, summoning fire rain over the battlefield to shatter the slave creatures’ formation.

The flanks host Magma Hounds, around six thousand, with bodies akin to bulls and lava coursing over them, extremely fast with teeth and claws that can tear through heavy units’ armor.

Their mission is to circumvent and intersperse, attacking the slave creature army’s flanks and rear to disrupt formations and create chaos.

The battlefield width exceeds five miles, with the slave creature army’s position forming a rectangle about five miles wide and two miles deep.

The battle begins at noon.

A Level 4 Lord of Flame at the enemy’s rear raises his Flame Longsword, blazing with black flames from atop a high platform, and points forward.

The front row of Magma Giants roars in unison, takes heavy steps, and begins their charge.

Three thousand Magma Giants charge simultaneously, causing the earth to tremble, and from the top of the tower, the shaking of the stone tower can be felt underfoot.

Their footsteps sound like thousands of drums, shaking the air into a tremor.

As they charge, the middle row of Flame Warriors follows closely behind, moving with greater speed, weaving through the gaps among the Magma Giants. Their Flame Longswords slash through the air, leaving burning trails.

The flanks’ Magma Hounds rush towards the slave creature army’s flanks like a dark red torrent.

The rear row of Flame Priests begins casting spells.

Three thousand Flame Priests chant simultaneously, their spell voices coalescing into a deep rumble, resonating across the battlefield.

The sky begins to turn red, not from the Molten Spirits’ magical glow, but from the Flame Priests summoning fire rain.

Countless fireballs fall from the sky, dragging long trails of fire as they crash into the slave creature army’s position.

Duke stands atop the tower, watching the fire rain.

The first wave of fire rain falls on the slave creature army’s heads, heavy units raise their shields, inscribed with fire-resistant runes, extinguishing the fireballs upon impact before they can spread.

The female multi-armed species issues orders at the front of the array, her four arms constantly changing gestures, commanding the army’s maneuvers.

The male multi-armed species moves along the flanks, using sharp calls to mobilize mobile units to evade the Magma Hounds’ strikes.

The Magma Giants’ charging speed increases, and the ground shakes more violently.

When they are about a kilometer from the slave creature army’s position, the female multi-armed species waves all four arms.

The first wave of long-range units opens fire, with two thousand long-range units simultaneously shooting, crossbows, energy beams, and alchemical bombs pouring onto the Magma Giants’ array like a rainstorm.

Crossbow arrows clash on the Magma Giants’ scale armor, some bouncing off, some lodged in the gaps. Energy beams explode on the scale armor, leaving charred marks. Alchemical bombs detonate at the feet of the Magma Giants, causing them to stagger, but none fall.

The female multi-armed species doesn’t pause. The second wave opens fire, then the third, then the fourth.

Eight thousand long-range units fire in successive waves, increasing firepower density.

The Magma Giants’ array begins to show gaps, as the foremost Magma Giants have their scale armor breached by the dense firepower, dark red blood oozing from wounds, they slow down, and are trampled by their trailing comrades, crushed into pulp.
