Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 967 - 826: Advancement Complete, Level 3 Wizard

Duke silently stared at the elder, neither speaking nor moving.

The elder’s gaze, like two substantial pressures, penetrated the light web crack of the Star Sea Sheltering Dew, directly pressing upon his Spiritual Power Crystal.

His Spiritual Power Crystal trembled slightly under the elder’s gaze, the light web of the Star Sea Sheltering Dew already showing obvious cracks, while the magnified perception through the Pupil of the Rule Horizon was frantically reporting the reality of the presence before him.

The elder’s spiritual fluctuations were extremely clear and stable, the rhythm of his breathing perfectly synchronized with the frequency of his heartbeat, every crease on his robe adhering to the real laws of physics, and even the heat radiating from his body could outline a normal temperature profile through perception.

But Duke knew that the more perfect the illusion, the less it could be trusted.

Those whispers, to break into the Spiritual Sea of a Level 2 Peak Mage, had to transform into the most unsettling things for him.

And the entry point they chose was his greatest secret.

Duke did not respond to the elder’s words. He reached for a potion on the grass, the Silent Eternal Seal, uncorked it, and poured it down his throat.

There was no taste as the potion entered, only an extremely faint coolness.

The coolness was not fierce but spread upwards from his throat in an almost gentle manner, climbing into the Spiritual Sea along his spiritual power pathways.

At the moment it touched the Spiritual Sea, the coolness transformed into an invisible barrier, forming an extremely thin, completely transparent isolating layer around his Spiritual Power Crystal.

Those whispering voices were blocked by the isolating layer, like a storm trapped outside a window; the sound of wind and rain lingered, yet they could no longer touch him.

The white-robed elder standing before him suddenly ceased speaking the moment the Silent Eternal Seal barrier unfolded.

He closed his mouth, tilting his head to look at Duke, with a faint smile appearing on his lean face.

The smile possessed kindness and compassion, filled with a peculiar meaning.

Then his figure began to fade, turning into gray-white smoke bit by bit from the edges, dissipating into the wind of the wasteland, with the longsword on his back being the last to disappear. The faded red string at the end of the sword hilt swayed slightly before it completely vanished into nothing.

Numerous blurred figures on the wasteland halted simultaneously the instant the elder vanished.

Their mouths continued to open and close silently, but their voices could no longer penetrate that transparent barrier.

Duke watched them, crowded outside the barrier, with countless hands patting, scratching, and striking against it, but apart from causing the surface of the barrier to ripple faintly, nothing else changed.

A moment later, those blurred figures shattered one after another, turning into gray-white smoke that the wind dispersed, as silently as they had come.

The wasteland itself began to collapse, the ground cracking, the sky peeling away, with pieces of the gray-white earth falling into the unknown darkness below, revealing the true mental world’s underlying color behind this Illusion Realm.

Duke’s Spiritual Sea returned to calm, though the light web of the Star Sea Sheltering Dew bore cracks, its overall structure remained stable.

The dark red patterns on the surface of the Six-element Compound Spiritual Crystal had penetrated into the crystal core under the washing of the Rule Baptism, fusing with the crystal itself at a very slow pace. Once this metamorphosis was complete, his spiritual power would thoroughly transcend Level 2 Peak to Level 3, thereby gaining eligibility to call upon Rule Power.

His body too was undergoing simultaneous metamorphosis, and he could sense his bones and muscles being reforged under the tempering of Rule Power, experiencing a transformation surpassing its own level. This baptism signified a complete remolding from the inside out, with his Life Level ascending.

The illusions of whispers had completely dissipated, yet the Rule Baptism continued.

Duke gathered his spiritual power, focusing on maintaining a linkage with the Fire Attribute Rules, allowing the Rule Power to continue cleansing his Spiritual Sea and body.

Then at a certain moment, the linkage with the Fire Attribute Rule Power suddenly severed.

It wasn’t that he had deliberately cut it off, nor that the Rule Power had been exhausted, but the other end of the connection, the Fire Attribute Rule network he had connected to, proactively released his spiritual power tendrils.

It was as if a silent guide had led him from a dark forest to a clearing in the woods, then let go of his hand, retreating back into the darkness.

Before Duke could respond, a more immense, vast, and indescribable presence descended upon him.

He couldn’t describe that sensation, for it was an awareness that acted directly upon the source of consciousness, more primal than perception, the feeling of being watched.

It was as if an ant suddenly became aware of an entire starry sky overhead.

Duke’s perspective began to detach from his body.

He saw himself sitting cross-legged on the artificial green grass, surrounded by Witch Array Runes still slowly operating, with a sky-blue dome overhead.

But his perspective was rising, passing through the dome, through the seabed, through the rock layers of the Central Islands, through the silver-blue tower body of the Six-Ring Tower, through the clouds, through the atmospheric boundary, through the Plane Barrier, ascending to a height no one had ever reached.

The entire Wizard Plane unfolded beneath his feet, like an endless canvas.

He saw the crescent-shaped coastline of the Florence Continent, the West Coast’s Black Sail Port harboring hundreds of ocean-going vessels, the Central Islands scattered like a string of silver-blue pearls on the Endless Sea, and the wheat fields of Maple Hill County rolling with golden waves in the autumn wind.
