Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 971 - 828: Analyzing the Light Divine Status and Ancient Stone Slab

The moment the fireball struck the surface of the target, a tiny white light point made contact with the target surface before the body of the fireball.

Then the light point exploded, a dazzling white light illuminating the entire testing area like it was daylight, followed by an extremely muffled roar, as if something had been forcibly torn apart on a molecular level.

A dark red shockwave spread outward from the impact point, and wherever it passed, the grass blades on the ground instantly turned to ash, and the air became filled with the unique scorched smell of rock being melted by high temperatures.

The white light and shockwave lingered for a few breaths before slowly dissipating.

On the ground where the target stood, only a hemispherical pit remained, over five meters in diameter and more than one meter deep.

The surface of the pit walls was as smooth as if meticulously polished black glass, formed from rock melting instantly at extremely high temperatures and then rapidly cooling, appearing as obsidian-like substance reflecting a dim gleam under the soft halo of the Divine Court.

At the bottom of the pit, there was still a small pool of slowly solidifying dark red lava, occasionally bubbling up with a few bubbles, making a gurgling sound.

As for the Level 2 Spell Target, Duke searched carefully around the pit bottom and the pit walls, finding only a few drops of fully melted, silver-white metal fused into the lava at the pit bottom.

That was the only trace left after the melting point of the Magic Metal was breached, and it wouldn’t be long before it was completely swallowed by the pit bottom’s still-uncoagulated lava, sinking into the cooled obsidian to become a part of this wasteland’s geological structure.

Using a Fireball Technique model of Level 1 Magic, the standard magic power output of a Level 2 Wizard, combined with a trace of Rule Power, Duke created a destructive effect that most ordinary Level 2 Magic couldn’t match.

The Level 2 Spell Target was completely vaporized, leaving not even fragments.

Duke then carried out several rounds of tests and reached a simple conclusion: whatever the magic, adding a trace of Rule Power could instantly enhance its power by tens, even hundreds of times.

Whether there was Rule Power or not was an entirely different concept.

Duke had previously understood quite a bit, knowing that the amount of Rule Power could directly affect the effectiveness of a magic spell.

At the level of a Level 3 Mage, the cultivation focused on how to mobilize more Rule Power.

More importantly, Rule Power could be fused; different types of Rule Power could be combined to form an exponential increase in power.

However, this was only theoretical; very few people, like Jin Mo from the Four Spirits Elemental Plane, could condense a Four-attribute Divine Status.

Most people still chose to delve deeply into one or two Rule Powers because they lacked the energy and resources to master multiple paths of rules.

Everyone knew that if one could advance multiple paths of rules to an extremely high level, even a casual strike would be an attack fused with multiple Rule Powers, enough to overpower everything.

For instance, during the confrontation between Jin Mo and Ares, the four-color attack infused with four types of Rule Powers gave Ares a hard time, making it extremely difficult to handle.

If not for the timely arrival of Level 5 Mage Alviss, Ares would have eventually been defeated.

Duke was also well aware of this, having plenty of related records available in the Six-Ring Tower’s library.

His goal was naturally to first master six types of Rule Powers and then leverage the Skill Tree to forcibly elevate all six Rule Powers to higher levels.

This idea sounds extremely crazy; if other wizards knew about his thoughts, they would only think he was a lunatic.

But Duke had the conditions to accomplish this feat, and it was highly feasible.

Before that, the natural step was to knock on the gates of each path of rules.

According to the normal training path in the Wizard Plane, after a Level 3 Mage advances, the primary task is to consolidate the newly opened Gate of Rules, and then focus all time and energy on continually delving into the path of rules they are most proficient in.

Rule Enlightenment, Rule Mastery, Rule Transformation, Rule Spark—each level requires several decades or even centuries of time, and an individual’s energy, lifespan, talent, and resources are limited, so specializing in one path is the most efficient and secure choice.

To master a second Rule Power, one either has to reach the Rule Spark level on the first rule, having the spare capacity to pioneer a new path, or to find a way to obtain a corresponding Rule Key and forcibly open the second gate with external force.

Duke had already experienced the rarity of Rule Keys at the Level 2 Peak.

He spent years continuously keeping an eye on various channels, always coming up empty-handed, and eventually obtained a fire attribute one only due to the rare opportunity presented by the Heart of Molten Fire’s explosion.

Thinking of obtaining a second, a third, just by waiting is unrealistic.

However, Duke believed he had already acquired two keys.

They were the Light Divine Status and an Ancient Stone Slab.

The Light Divine Status had always been steadfastly sitting at the center of his Six-element Compound Spiritual Power Crystal like a star, providing core coherence and harmony to prevent conflicts between the six attributes.

Its status is extremely high, far beyond the Divine Status condensed by an ordinary Level 4 Life. Duke speculated that it might even contain part of the Plane Will from the Oracle Plane.

Because its status is too high and too solid.

During the Level 2 Mage stage, Duke couldn’t actively analyze the rule mysteries contained within it.
