Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 980 - 832: Consolidating Strength (Part 2)

His body, as it accepted this trace of Rule Power, was also being slowly transformed by it.

From head to toe, from skin to marrow, each cell was undergoing a subtle transformation under the infiltration of this trace of Power of Earth Rule.

Duke could clearly feel that his body was remembering the Earth Rules, a physical-level, instinctive kind of carrier.

The entire process lasted about an hour.

When that trace of Earth Rule Power fully merged into his body, with no distinction between inside and outside, Duke slowly opened his eyes and first looked at the Skill Tree panel.

[Elemental Holy Body: Tier Three (1028/1000000)]

From six hundred thirty-five to one thousand twenty-eight.

An increase of three hundred ninety-three points of proficiency.

Just a trace of Earth Rule, equivalent to the effect usually requiring a large amount of energy to accumulate.

If he continued to melt, engraving more Earth Rule Power into his body, and gradually integrating Fire, Darkness, and Light as well, the growth rate of proficiency would far surpass before.

After melting that trace of Earth Rule, Duke’s physical body also gained a certain defensive ability against Earth Rules.

The Rule Power melted into the body, while transforming the physical body, also left a layer of latent rule resistance on the body’s surface and inside.

This is the unique advantage of the Elemental Holy Body.

At the Level 3 Life stage, any strike involves attacks containing Rule Power.

Ordinary Level 3 Mages, if they cannot defend against attacks containing Rule Power, cannot possibly withstand the impact of Rule Power.

Duke also still couldn’t, but as more Rule Power was melted into the body over time, his body would become increasingly strong.

Reaching a certain strength, he might even abandon all defensive means and take enemy Rule Power attacks head-on with his bare body.

In the days that followed, Duke completely slowed down his pace, making daily practice regular and monotonous.

He spent another year, focused on resting and cultivation, steadily advancing his proficiency in four rules and the Elemental Holy Body’s practice, aiming to thoroughly solidify his Level 3 Initial Stage power.

[Fire Rules: LV1 (1934/10000) → LV1 (3891/10000)]

[Rule of Darkness: LV1 (1723/10000) → LV1 (3672/10000)]

[Rule of Light: LV1 (1844/10000) → LV1 (3756/10000)]

[Earth Rules: LV1 (1821/10000) → LV1 (4012/10000)]

[Elemental Holy Body: Tier Three (1028/1000000) → Tier Three (8923/1000000)]

A year’s Rule Melting, allowing the Elemental Holy Body proficiency to increase by nearly eight thousand points.

This speed, although still far from filling a million, is already fast given the lack of third-level energy supply.

Moreover, Duke could clearly feel, as more Rule Power was melted, the strength of his body and rule resistance steadily increased.

He could now withstand some weaker Rule Power attacks without injury, which was unthinkable a year ago.

In terms of strength, Duke’s Level 3 Initial Stage realm had completely stabilized.

Three years had passed since he advanced to Level 3 Mage.

Three years may not seem long to a mortal.

For a Level 3 Mage though, it is merely an insignificant scale in a long lifespan.

After solidifying his Level 3 Initial Stage power, Duke began considering his next step.

Oracle Plane.

A long time had passed since he last visited.

Every month, Robert would convey messages through prayer, reporting on the Oracle Plane’s situation and the Star Embers Guild’s expansion progress.

But written reports were never as good as seeing with one’s own eyes.

"It’s time to go." Duke stood up and stretched his body.

Going to the Oracle Plane was partly to handle affairs there, partly to change environments and relax.

His Level 3 Initial Stage power was now thoroughly stabilized, the proficiency of the four rules steadily advancing, and the rule melting of the Elemental Holy Body was on track.

No urgent need for closed-door arduous practice, going out would instead be beneficial.

Duke left the Six-Ring Tower, traveled through the Teleportation Array to Dusk City under Silver Hand’s control, then entered the Flower Sea Plane from Dusk City’s public Teleportation Array.

Stepping onto the Flower Sea Plane, a familiar fragrance mingled from a thousand types of flowers rushed over.

Under the pale violet sky, the eternal sunlight poured down, illuminating the boundless flower sea like a brilliant tapestry.

Neon meadows swayed in the breeze, flickering with radiant lights.

Petal droppings from the Sky Flowers emitted a moon-white glow, like countless floating lamps.

In the distance, the Leaf Canopy was still there, those massive plant leaves, shadowing the day, filtering sunlight into gentle beams cast diagonally over the flower sea.

Spore creatures danced slowly in the light beams, like floating elves in the air.

A few uniquely shaped trees moved their roots, strolling through the flower sea step by step.

Duke took a deep breath, feeling his Spirit relax considerably.

This is the Flower Sea Plane’s magic power.

Staying here for a while dissipates most tension and pressure.

Silver Hand’s development of this plane into a tourism and entertainment space indeed made sense.

He followed a small path carved in the flower sea, arriving at Dream Manor.

Surrounding the manor is open, with no other buildings, exclusively owning a whole piece of flower sea.

The main structure is a five-story giant tree, crafted from the trunk of some plant-like intelligent life form, its surface retaining natural wood textures but exceeding ordinary wood in hardness.

Duke pushed open the door, and the Cleaning Array inside was still operating, everything as it was when he last left.

Furniture neatly arranged, tabletops spotless, air faintly scented with herbs and wood.

He did not linger on the first floor, heading straight down the stairs to the basement.

Duke first confirmed all Defense Arrays were functioning normally, then let his Spiritual Power probe into his palm, activating the Coordinates Earring.

Duke’s Spiritual Power stirred, activating the Oracle Plane coordinates.

The Coordinates Earring trembled slightly.

A wave of spatial disturbance spread from his palm, but before it reached the basement walls, it was firmly suppressed by triple Defense Arrays.

This was why Duke chose to set the teleportation point in Dream Manor’s basement; the spatial disturbance from the Coordinates Earring, although not as intense as a Plane Rift, could still be detected by nearby high-tier mages if not concealed.

But here, isolated by Defense Arrays, no one would know what had occurred in the basement.

The air in front began to distort, ripples spread around.

In an instant, Duke appeared in a room, located on the top floor of the Divine Hall of Light in Stone Hammer City’s eastern district.

Duke stood still, his gaze sweeping over the familiar layout.

The south and east sides were lined with tall arch windows set with clear glass, afternoon sunlight streamed through, casting brightly patterned light spots on the floor.

The room’s decor was simple yet practical, a wide desk on the north piled neatly with several stacks of documents and an open map.

Two bookshelves stood beside the desk, filled with Oracle Plane’s local ancient texts and the Light Sect’s scriptures.

A half-open wooden door on the west led to an independent Meditation Room, where thick woolen carpet embroidered with sun patterns could be glimpsed through the door crack.

Duke walked to the arch window, gazing outside.

Gray-white city walls glinted with a faint sheen under the sun, soldiers patrolling were faintly visible on the walls.

The rooftops within the city laid unevenly, gray-black tiles stacked layer by layer, streets crisscrossed bustling with people, distant hints of carts and horses’ noise floated in.

Duke’s gaze swept across the eastern city, the Star Embers Guild headquarters was no longer the dusty construction site it was years ago.

Several gray-white stone buildings stood majestically, the tallest main building reaching seven floors, topped with a flag embroidered with stars and embers, flapping in the afternoon breeze.

Flanking the main building were two subsidiary buildings, symmetrically laid out, connected by corridors.

The plaza in front was paved with neat bluestone slabs, its center stood a stone statue of a figure holding a sword, its base inscribed with the words Star Embers.
