After Duke informed the people present of this information, the group was silent for a while.
Selena was the first to speak, her voice still steady, but her wording contained a level of solemnity never heard before: "The meaning of the Child of Light, Your Excellency, is that you yourself, and the force you represent behind you, originate from a more powerful plane."
Duke did not deny it; he merely nodded slightly and then flipped to the last page of the document.
On that page was a comprehensive assessment report of the Oracle Plane, detailing indicators such as the plane’s level, life limit, energy concentration, and a brief evaluation of its potential for ascendancy.
This report was prepared in advance by Duke, and the contents were mostly true, albeit with minor modifications for advantageous standards where possible.
Anyway, the people of the Oracle Plane, being like frogs at the bottom of a well, had no idea how vast the real Endless Plane was, so the report could be skewed favorably.
"The Oracle Plane is merely a low plane. To ascend to a middle plane, someone needs to breakthrough to Level 4. However, given the current energy concentration and completeness of rules in this plane, the likelihood of naturally occurring Level 4 Life is nearly zero.
Unless there is systemic support from external planes, including but not limited to rule guidance, energy environment modifications, and a comprehensive upgrade of the local cultivation system. I can offer exactly these; myself and my force behind me can help elevate the Oracle Plane to a middle plane.
After the plane’s ascension, the energy concentration of the entire plane will increase, rules will become more complete, all inhabitants will benefit. Your lifespans will be longer, your strengths greater, and the realms your descendants can achieve will exceed your own. This surpasses any handful of Life-Extending Potions—this is a promotion of the entire plane.
Cease focusing on trivial matters like sect conflicts; whether it be the Rising Sun District, the Four Gods Sect, or the Light Sect—in the scope of the Endless Plane, these are merely insignificant specks within the Oracle Plane.
Today, you fight over this speck until your heads are bloodied, yet tomorrow, if another stronger plane discovers the Oracle Plane, you won’t even have a chance to contest. Whereas, the force I represent can offer this plane a different future."
Duke stopped here, leaned back on the chair, his gaze calmly sweeping over three distinct expressions on the faces before him.
Then he spoke, his tone still that factual monotone: "This is not a threat, but an invitation."
Every word Duke said mentioned the force behind him, but in reality, Duke was the only one in the Wizard Plane who knew of the existence of the Oracle Plane, and there would be no intervention of any force’s power.
Yet the people of the Oracle Plane did not know this, nor did they have the means or evidence to disprove it.
The three Great Mages were each silent.
Selena lowered her eyelids, her fingertips slowly rubbed along the edges of the Secret Silver Box, her well-maintained face devoid of expression but the slightly pursed corners of her lips betrayed the inner turmoil she faced.
Baroque crossed his arms tightly in front of his chest, glaring intently at the document spread open on the table as though staring at a suddenly opened door, behind which lay a road he had not found in hundreds of years.
Zephiris remained leaned against the chair back, his posture unchanged, yet the energy flow at his fingertips had paused for a long while, pinching intricate folds into the ash-colored robe cuffs.
They may not fully believe it, but they could find no evidence to refute it.
Every word Duke said included the force behind him, yet how enormous that force was and how much power it contained remained unknown, and the unknown itself was the greatest deterrent.
In contrast, the three standing behind Duke with the Light Sect reacted entirely differently.
Since Duke began discussing the knowledge of Endless Planes, Dali unconsciously grasped the Sun Pendant at her chest.
Her cold eyes widened, pupils reflecting the open document on the table, as though a whole universe she had never seen was concealed within the thin sheet of paper.
She recalled kneeling on the cold stone of the Divine Hall of Light as an Apprentice Priest, gazing up at the faded mural of the God of Light’s descent, believing that was the entirety of the world.
The God of Light created the heavens, created all things.
Later, as she became the Holy Daughter and accessed the deepest tomes of the sect, she learned of existences elder than the Four Gods Sect, and that the Oracle Plane was so vast even the bravest explorers could not traverse it in its entirety.
She had assumed that was the limit, but now, Duke casually informed her that the Oracle Plane was just one of countless low planes within the Endless Plane, and above low planes were middle planes, high planes, top-tier planes, with differences so vast the strongest in the Oracle Plane couldn’t even perceive their zenith.
Dali suddenly recalled scenes seen at the seashore as a child, during the ebb tide, where countless tiny fish were trapped in countless small pools on the beach, fighting to claim food and territory, fighting each other without knowing that just dozens of steps away lay an endless ocean.
And the Oracle Plane was that small pool.
Her fingers trembled slightly as they clutched the pendant, not out of fear, but due to a dizziness formed from an unspeakable combination of shock and a sense of insignificance.
