Chapter 55 - LV - Sweet Release

Chapter 55: Chapter LV - Sweet Release

Noah rose from the mattress with a fluid motion, his hands finding her hips before she could protest. A groan escaped her—part exhaustion, part anticipation—as he guided her onto her stomach, then lifted her easily, positioning her exactly where he wanted her.

She complied, folding onto her knees with a languid grace that belied her trembling limbs. Her cheek found the pillow, turned to the side, her breath coming in warm puffs against the cotton. Her hands settled near her face, fingers curling into the quilt, the position leaving her raised and open and entirely at his mercy.

"Like this?" she mumbled, her voice muffled and thick with satisfaction.

He settled behind her, his palms smoothing over the curve of her spine, down to where her waist flared into hips.

"Exactly like this."

The mattress dipped beneath his weight as he positioned himself, guiding himself back into her heat with a slow, deliberate pressure that pulled groans from them both. From this angle, he could see everything—the scatter of freckles across her shoulders, the flush creeping up her neck, the way her fingers tightened in the quilt with each inch he claimed.

"Okay?" he managed, his voice rough with restraint.

Sage’s answer was to push back against him, taking him deeper, her breath hitching against the pillow.

"Stop asking," she breathed. "And start moving."

A smirk crept across his lips as he pulled back until just the head remained nestled in her folds, feeling her clench around him in protest. He held there, suspended, watching her fingers tighten in the quilt, her breath hitching against the pillow.

Then he slammed forward, burying himself to the hilt in one devastating stroke that tore a cry from her throat and sent the headboard knocking against the wall. The sound reverberated through the attic, matched only by the gasp that followed.

"Fuck—" she managed, her spine arching despite the pillow cradling her cheek.

He leaned over her, his chest pressing to her back. Drawing closer, he caught the delicate shell of her ear gently between his teeth, the teasing touch sending a shiver through her.

Sage’s answer was to push back against him, meeting his next thrust with a roll of her hips that drew groans from them both. He moved with deliberate slowness, each withdrawal measured, each return a deep, filling slide that let her feel every inch of him.

Her breath came in shallow pants against the pillow, her fingers white-knuckled in the quilt, her body trembling with the effort of meeting his rhythm. He watched the elegant curve of her spine, the freckled expanse of her shoulders as they shook with sensation, and felt his control gradually begin to unravel.

The pace quickened. What began as controlled became wild, became desperate. His hips snapped forward with increasing force, each thrust driving deeper, filling her until she could feel him in places she hadn’t known existed.

Noah’s hands left her hips and found her wrists where they gripped the quilt. With a swift, deliberate motion, he pulled her arms, crossing them at the small of her back, pinning them there with one hand while the other returned to her hip for leverage.

"Hey—" she started, but the word dissolved into a moan as the new angle shifted everything, driving him deeper, hitting something that made her vision spark white at the edges.

Held in place, unable to push back or control the depth, Sage could only take what he gave. Each thrust sharper, more precise, while the slap of skin against skin echoed through the room.

"I’m getting close," his voice came out rough and strained.

"Me too," she moaned, her back arching helplessly beneath him, her fingers curling into her palm.

Noah’s hips slammed forward one final time, as his release crashed through him, flooding into her, until she followed him over, her body clamping down around him, dragging out a ragged groan from his chest.

Sage’s cry came out low, barely a whisper against the pillow—wrung out from continuous orgasms, her body having nothing left to give. She trembled beneath him, aftershocks fluttering through her as she rode out the last of it, gasping and spent.

Noah uncrossed her arms with gentle hands, lowering them slowly to the mattress, pressing a kiss to each wrist before easing out of her with a care that made her whimper. As he withdrew, a rush of their combined warmth spilled from her opening, slick and copious, tracing a glistening path down her inner thigh to pool on the sheets beneath her.

He guided her down onto her stomach, then collapsed beside her. Not from physical exhaustion, his body still thrummed with converted energy, but from something deeper, a mental release after maintaining such intense focus.

They lay tangled in the golden afternoon light, damp skin cooling, breath evening out in shared rhythm. His hand found hers, fingers threading through with a tenderness that belied the ferocity of moments before.

Sage’s eyes remained closed, her lips parted on shallow breaths, her freckled face flushed and peaceful. "You’re still not tired," she mumbled, not a question.

Noah pressed a smile against the crease of her neck, his amber eyes clear and bright despite everything.

"No, but for your sake, we’ll say yes."

"Mmm," the sound barely audible as she drifted toward sleep.

They lay there together in the aftermath, one already fast asleep while the other rested his head.

The air was thick with the scent of sweat and sex and the particular electricity that followed his release. The bedding beneath them was ruined, damp with their combined efforts, patches of it darkened where fluids had spilled and pooled.

Sage’s thigh still glistened, untouched, too exhausted to move, while Noah’s chest rose and fell in steady rhythm. His amber eyes tracked the dust motes dancing in the slanted afternoon light mindlessly.

His fingers traced idle patterns across her freckled shoulder, mapping made up constellations in her skin. She didn’t stir, her breath already evened out, her body finally surrendered completely.

Outside, the world continued its indifferent rotation, people likely dying in the thousands, maybe tens of thousands. But in the small attic space, time seemed suspended, wrapped around two bodies that had tested the limits of human endurance.
