World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 54: Rewards (Part 2)---) Devourer Stone (Rare Grade): A rare stone that can grant an item the ability to devour other items similar to itself and increase its own rank. This Devourer Stone can only be used on Unranked or lower-grade artifacts.
When Eva saw Devourer Stone’s rank, he was surprised to see that it was actually a Rare Grade treasure.
And after reading its details, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, and his breathing became heavy.
"This thing... It can essentially turn a normal artifact into a growth-type artifact..." Evan said to himself, his voice filled with excitement.
Growth-type artifacts were treasures that could become more powerful along with their users.
Although the ability granted by the Devourer Stone was a bit different and the artifact wouldn’t become stronger along with its user, it was still extremely precious.
With the ability granted by the Devourer Stone, an artifact could increase its rank simply by devouring other artifacts similar to itself.
For example, if Evan used the Devourer Stone on the Mind Pendant he had just received, he could increase its rank by feeding it similar artifacts that affected a person’s mind.
Evan tried to suppress his excitement and once again looked at the stone’s details.
"I can only use it on Common or Uncommon Grade treasures. Should I use it on the Mind Pendant? After all, it’s a treasure that directly affects the mind of its user and even increases mental defense," Evan thought about using the Devourer Stone on the Mind Pendant.
However, after thinking about it for a while, he decided against it.
If he used it on the Mind Pendant, he would have to provide it with more treasures that affected the mind of its user to increase its rank.
Mind-type treasures were already extremely rare, and he didn’t even know if he would obtain another one like this in the future.
As for Black Star, his Status Window didn’t show any information about it, indicating that it was a normal sword, not a Common- or Uncommon-Grade sword.
Since it was an ungraded sword, he couldn’t use Devourer Stone on Black Star.
He thought for some time before deciding to think about it later.
"I will wait and find another good treasure before using it."
Thinking of this, Evan tried to put the Devourer Stone into his Storage Ring.
But just as he was about to put it away, he received a new notification.
[The Devourer Stone is made from the Colossal Skeleton General’s life essence. Once it leaves the Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon, it will lose its effect.]
"What the..." Evan was stunned when he saw the notification, and a deep frown appeared on his face.
"Lose its effect after leaving the dungeon..."
He stared at the notification for a long time before taking a deep breath.
"It seems I will have to use it right here in this dungeon."
He muttered with a sigh and looked at the Mind Pendant he was wearing.
"Seems like I can only use it on this thing."
Just as Evan was planning to use the Devourer Stone on the Mind Pendant, he remembered something and stopped.
Evan looked at the Wolf Robe he was wearing and fell into deep thought.
Currently, it was torn in many places because of his earlier battles in the dungeon.
The robe had helped him on many occasions, and although it was only an Uncommon Grade treasure, its defense was quite good.
"Defensive-type treasures aren’t difficult to find, so I think using it on the Wolf Robe is more appropriate than using it on the Mind Pendant."
Evan thought for a while before making up his mind.
He placed the Devourer Stone on the Wolf Robe he was wearing, but nothing happened.
Seeing this, he thought for a moment before channeling some of his mana into the Devourer Stone.
The instant he did, the Devourer Stone released black smoke and turned into a liquid-like substance, seeping inside the Wolf Robe.
The entire Wolf Robe suddenly rippled as if it were made of liquid, making Evan, who was wearing it feel extremely uncomfortable.
The process lasted for nearly five minutes before everything finally returned to normal.
The Devourer Stone had merged with the Wolf Robe, and now the robe looked a bit different from before.
All the damage it had suffered during the battle disappeared, and it looked brand new once again.
Its color had become even darker, while the wolf design on it had turned golden.
The completely dark Wolf Robe with its golden wolf design looked extremely impressive.
Evan quickly looked at its details.
---) Devourer Wolf Robe (Uncommon Grade) [Can Evolve]: A very durable robe made from the leather of an Alpha Wolf. It provides great defense to its wearer and increases Health and Mana by +10.
Nothing had changed about the Wolf Robe except its name and the note saying that it could evolve.
"Now that I can evolve the Wolf Robe by providing it with defensive-type treasures, I don’t need to worry about finding a suitable defensive-type treasure for myself. I can just evolve this robe along with me."
Evan muttered and took out his old leather armor set, which was almost destroyed when he fought against the Forest Tiger.
He brought the armor near the Wolf Robe and placed it on top of the robe.
Suddenly, black smoke came out from the Wolf Robe and covered the entire destroyed armor.
Evan watched in shock as the golden wolf on the robe opened its mouth wide and engulfed the entire armor.
The black smoke coming out of the Wolf Robe also stopped after the wolf devoured the armor, and the robe returned to normal.
Evan looked at the details of the Wolf Robe again but found that nothing had changed.
"Well, hoping it would evolve after devouring that broken armor was just my wild fantasy..."
He shook his head and looked at the last reward—the Orc Dungeon Parchment.
A thick piece of sheepskin appeared in his hand with something written on it.
Evan looked at the parchment in his hand and didn’t understand anything, as the language written on it was something he had never seen before.
Although he couldn’t understand what was written on it, he could understand a few things from some of the drawings on the parchment.
"If I remember correctly, the Orc Dungeon is a Rank Two dungeon located in the capital. It has fifteen floors and is said to be quite difficult to conquer."
Evan muttered as he recalled the details about the Orc Dungeon that he had read before.
Evan looked at the drawings on the parchment once again.
There was a tower with different floors, and there were a total of fifteen floors.
Evan guessed that these represented the floors of the dungeon, as the Orc Dungeon had fifteen floors, just like how the Skeleton Graveyard had five floors.
On the drawing of the fifteenth floor, a cross mark had been made between two stones.
"Maybe there is a treasure hidden there. I am going to the capital to join the academy anyway, so I will check it out when I get the chance."
Evan didn’t dwell on it too much, as he couldn’t use this thing for the time being.
[For conquering the dungeon solo, you have received a bonus reward.]
[50 Rank One Mana Cores]
When Evan read this, fifty glowing Mana Cores appeared in front of him.
Evan was genuinely stunned when he saw fifty Rank One Mana Cores in front of him.
Although Rank One Mana Cores weren’t very rare, one would still have to kill many Rank One Creatures to obtain fifty of them.
At first, Evan had been a little disappointed because he hadn’t obtained any Mana Cores from the skeletons, since undead creatures didn’t possess Mana Cores.
But with these fifty Rank One Mana Cores, everything became much more pleasing.
After going through all of these notifications related to his rewards, Evan finally found the information about his evolution.
