"I’m fine." The King tried to sit up.

He rubbed his head, feeling a wave of discomfort.

It felt like something was just out of his reach, like he’d forgotten something important, yet he’d never suffered from amnesia before.

He couldn’t quite describe the feeling, and he didn’t want to worry the Princess.

Although they had been married for many years, he felt no affection for this woman. It was a marriage arranged by his parents, one he had simply accepted.

The Princess played her part well, always putting on a show of being a deeply loving couple in public.

As a result, their reputation as a devoted husband and wife was known around the world.

"So, who did you see today?" the Princess asked cautiously.

The King shook his head and closed his eyes. "You can go. I’d like to rest alone for a while."

The Princess bit her lip but had no choice but to agree. "Alright."

After leaving the hospital room, the Princess went outside and found a secluded spot. She took out her phone and made a call.

It took a while for the call to connect. A man’s voice came through. "Well, this is a surprise. To what do I owe the pleasure of a call from Her Highness, the Princess?"

"Jason Summers, do you know about a woman who looks just like Winter Mercer?" the Princess asked, glancing around.

"Who?" The man on the other end was clearly taken aback.

"Her name is... Ivy Sherwood, I think." The Princess recalled the name.

Jason Summers replied, "I know of her. How did you find out about her? Isn’t she from Lustre in Calypsos? I investigated her before. She has no connection to Winter."

My last birthday banquet was held in Lustre. Quentin Blackwood brought Ivy Sherwood with him, and I was stunned when I saw her eyes.

I investigated back then. Ivy Sherwood grew up in Lustre, and her mother isn’t Winter.

The Princess breathed a sigh of relief. "That’s good."

"Why? Did you see her?"

"Yes, she’s a friend of Ayre’s. Have you been keeping an eye on the Mercer Family lately? I heard they all went to Calypsos some time ago."

"I’ve been in Atheria recently, so I’m not up to date. Didn’t I tell you to keep watch?" Jason Summers’ voice came through the phone.

"Where would I find the time? Besides, the Mercer Family has always been incredibly discreet. I only just found out myself. And he’s already met Ivy Sherwood. I’ve noticed he’s been restless these past few days. If he really recovers his memories, we’re both finished. And if the Mercer Family finds out, they won’t let you off the hook either!" the Princess whispered.

On the other end of the line, Jason Summers furrowed his brow. "I understand. I’ll look into it. Back then, Winter Mercer was poisoned. It’s impossible for her to still be alive."

’The only fear is if she was pregnant when she left. If she left a child behind...’

"You’d better investigate quickly, and make sure it’s flawless."

The Princess hung up, but she was left with a bad feeling.

Ivy Sherwood and Miles Mercer boarded a private jet to Lustre.

After a flight of over ten hours, the plane landed. Ivy Sherwood felt that being back in her home country was still the most comfortable.

Perhaps because she had grown up here, the place felt much more familiar and welcoming.

Lustre really was a wonderful city. It had mountains and the sea, and the temperature was pleasant year-round. No wonder her mother had chosen to live here back then.

The New Year’s atmosphere was much stronger here than abroad. It was already the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, and Nina Scott was the most excited to hear that Ivy Sherwood was coming back.

Nina Scott had originally wanted to pick Ivy up from the airport, but Ivy told her not to go to all the trouble of running back and forth, saying she would go straight to Nina’s place.

She told Nina to wait for her at her house. Nina said, "Okay, I’ll go buy groceries and wait for you to get back."

Ivy Sherwood and Miles Mercer got off the plane, collected their luggage, and prepared to head out.

Nearby, the Scott family had just returned home from a trip abroad. Yara Scott spotted Ivy Sherwood with a tall man by her side. They were talking about something and seemed to be on very good terms.

She quickly grabbed Mrs. Scott’s hand. "Mom, look! That man, isn’t he Nina’s boyfriend?"

Mrs. Scott looked over. It was him!

The last time she had tried to set Nina up on a blind date, Nina had personally admitted that this was her boyfriend.

"He’s actually on a date with another woman! Look how pretty she is. Is she his mistress?"

They didn’t realize that the woman was Ivy Sherwood, and naturally, they had no idea about her relationship with Miles Mercer.

Mrs. Scott told her husband and son to go put their things away, claiming she and Yara were going to the restroom. Then, the two of them marched straight toward Ivy Sherwood.

"How dare you cheat on my daughter!" Mrs. Scott raised her hand and slapped Miles Mercer across the face.

It all happened so fast that neither Ivy Sherwood nor Miles Mercer had time to react.

Although Mrs. Scott disliked Nina, she couldn’t tolerate the man supposedly dating her daughter being out with someone else.

Yara, of course, was delighted. ’Look at the kind of trash Nina picked up.’ But her eyes were drawn to the other woman. ’Wow, she’s gorgeous. Her face is absolutely flawless, like she walked right out of a comic book. Her skin looks so supple and smooth, so perfect it makes you jealous.’

Miles Mercer’s expression darkened. He recognized her as that woman’s mother.

Ivy Sherwood, of course, knew Mrs. Scott and Nina Scott. She couldn’t understand why they had attacked them out of the blue.

"What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? Who do you think you are? This is my daughter’s boyfriend, and he’s out here cheating!" Mrs. Scott seethed.

Ivy didn’t know which daughter Mrs. Scott was talking about. She looked at Yara in surprise. "Your boyfriend?"

’When did my brother become one of the Scotts?’

"No way," Yara denied. ’Why does this woman’s voice sound so familiar?’

’It’s like I’ve heard it somewhere before.’

’If it’s not Yara, then it must be... Nina!’

Ivy looked at Miles Mercer in shock. ’When did my brother become Nina’s boyfriend? How did I not know about this?’

"Apologize to me!" Miles Mercer’s face was grim. No one would be happy about being slapped for no reason.

"You’re out here cheating and you want *me* to apologize? I really don’t know why Nina Scott would find someone like you just to spite me. You’re a penniless nobody, yet you still dare to fool around. It wouldn’t be too much even if I beat you to death today."

Ivy, standing by his side, was stunned. ’My brother is Nina’s boyfriend? And he’s a penniless nobody?’

’The Mercer Family is countless times wealthier than the Scott Family. How could Mrs. Scott dare to say such a thing?’

"What cheating? I’m not that woman’s..."

Before Miles could finish, Ivy interrupted him. "I don’t know what’s going on here, but you must have misunderstood. This is my brother. My biological brother."

’She knew Miles would deny it, but if Nina had told her family she had a boyfriend, and that it was Miles, his denial would expose the lie. She had to help her best friend.’

Mrs. Scott’s expression faltered. "Who knows if you’re telling the truth or not. I’m going to video call my daughter."

With that, Mrs. Scott placed the video call.
