Chapter 468: Chapter 467: Star Soldiers, Star General
Inside the Chaos Celestial Secret Realm, strands of Primordial Qi poured into his body.
Qin Feng’s injuries were healing quickly.
By the time he walked out the main entrance, his horrific injuries were almost fully healed.
At the entrance to the main hall, a group of the Star Sect’s experts had not yet departed.
SHUFFLE!
Hearing the sound of approaching footsteps, they all turned their gazes toward the hall in unison.
They saw a youth in black robes walking slowly out of the main hall. He looked to be about seventeen or eighteen, with a slender build and shoulder-length black hair. When he lifted his face, some of the young women present were momentarily stunned.
His features were as sharp and distinct as a sculpture, and he exuded an exceptionally cold, stern aura. His pitch-black eyes were especially deep and bright, like stars in the heavens.
A single glance was enough to leave them mesmerized.
"Qin Feng?" Ye Ding’s expression was incredibly grim as he took in the changes in the young man. ’Clearly, Qin Feng obtained some kind of benefit I don’t know about.’
Beside him, Zong Wuxiang, Dong Hao, Shi Qing, Wei Huang, Ren Xiaoyao, Cao Chen, and An Zaitian stared intently at Qin Feng. To their senses, he had changed drastically from before he entered the Divine Hall.
Although none of them could quite put their finger on it, they instinctively felt an immense threat emanating from him—a threat that hadn’t been there before.
This was especially true for the few martial arts experts who cultivated Water Element Techniques; they clearly sensed a suppressive pressure.
In a corner, Jiang Chao, who also cultivated a Water Element Technique, felt it even more keenly. A Supreme Treasure deep within his soul began to tremble violently, on the verge of tearing free from his body and lunging toward Qin Feng.
’What in the world is going on? Why is my Black Emperor Tide Banner so restless!’
Jiang Chao’s expression flickered. The Black Emperor Tide Banner was a rare ancient treasure he had acquired, a Divine Artifact used by the Ancient Water God to control the world’s waters. It was a Water Element Treasure, and now it was trying to abandon him, its master, for someone else.
Jiang Chao’s face flushed crimson.
As if sensing something, Qin Feng’s gaze shifted. He turned his head, and his eyes fell upon Jiang Chao, seemingly piercing through his very soul to land on the strange black banner within.
The black banner began to hum, and as if sensing Qin Feng’s gaze, it tried even harder to burst free from his body.
Jiang Chao grew frantic. This was a Treasure he had risked his life to obtain! If it flew away, his overall power would be cut by more than half.
He channeled all his Black Water True Power to suppress it, but the Supreme Treasure seemed dead set on breaking free.
’A Water Element Treasure?’
Qin Feng could see that this was a high-grade Water Element Treasure of immense power.
Qin Feng figured the Water Element Treasure had sensed his Sea God Body and knew that it would benefit greatly if it fell into his hands.
Qin Feng shook his head. Under the scrutinizing gazes of the crowd, he walked over to Jiang Chao in a few steps and patted his shoulder.
A thread of True Power flowed into Jiang Chao’s body, and to Jiang Chao’s astonishment, it helped him pacify the Black Emperor Tide Banner.
Jiang Chao froze, staring at Qin Feng in astonishment.
Qin Feng gave him a slight nod, then turned and walked away.
It wasn’t that Qin Feng didn’t want the Black Emperor Tide Banner. Rather, he had no quarrel with Jiang Chao; in fact, they were on friendly terms. And while Qin Feng loved treasures as much as life itself, he wasn’t a man without principles.
Although he didn’t know what had happened to Qin Feng, Ye Ding was certain that Qin Feng must have had a great fortuitous encounter.
Ye Ding glanced at the other disciples, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. He desperately wanted to subdue Qin Feng on the spot and force him to reveal the opportunity he’d gained, but he wasn’t confident he could succeed.
The eyes of the other Inner Sect Disciples flickered; most of them harbored similar thoughts. Qin Feng had already been formidable, on par with the best among them. Now, it was obvious at a glance that his power had grown immensely. They stood no chance against him.
Still, the temptation gnawed at them.
’Still,’ some thought, ’if Qin Feng can walk out of that Divine Hall unharmed, perhaps it isn’t as dangerous as we imagined!’
Soon, many of the Inner Sect Disciples turned their gazes back to the Divine Hall.
The allure of treasure was a powerful thing.
Some Inner Sect Disciples didn’t believe they were any weaker than Qin Feng.
Among them were Ye Ding, Dong Hao, Cao Chen, An Zizai, and Xia You. They hesitated for a moment before finally choosing to enter the Divine Hall.
But it wasn’t long before they came scrambling out of the Divine Hall, looking utterly disheveled with pale faces.
...
In the Nameless Valley, the tear in the Void rippled like water, and a figure emerged gracefully.
After leaving the Divine Hall, Qin Feng had headed straight out of the Earth Secret Realm.
On this trip, he had not only obtained his target, the Mountain God Pearl, but had also reaped many other rewards. Qin Feng was more than satisfied.
Qin Feng’s next step was to find a place to cultivate the Five Sacred Mountains one by one, break through to the Sea of Reincarnation Realm, and then head to Yunhu City to complete his mission.
「One month later.」
「Feitian Town.」
Feitian Town was a major town under the jurisdiction of Weiyue City, which was itself a Satellite City of the City of Many Stars. Though called a town, its scale was easily comparable to a small city in the Yan Kingdom.
The streets were bustling, with a ceaseless flow of merchants and traders coming and going.
Standing on the second floor of a tavern, Qin Feng occasionally watched squads of imposing Star Soldiers, clad in Star Armor, patrol the streets below.
Star Soldiers, Star Generals, Commanders, Grand Commanders, Deputy Generals, Main Generals, Grand Marshals, Celestial Kings, and Star Monarchs—this was the ranking system of a separate division within the Star Sect, one responsible for all military affairs in the Domain of All Stars.
If ordinary Servant Disciples fail to become Outer Disciples, they are often assigned to external posts. Many choose to enter the Star Monarch Division and become Star Soldiers.
An Inner Sect Disciple like Qin Feng, on the other hand, could directly become a Star General or even a Commander upon joining the Star Monarch Division.
Every year, the Star Sect funnels a large number of experts into the Star Monarch Division. They are deployed in all directions: some to combat the Demon God Temple and the Twelve Strong Clans, some to the front lines bordering the Qiankun Sect and Beiling Sect to prevent their encroachment.
And a final portion is stationed near the City of Many Stars to guard the All Stars Academy and the Star Sect itself.
Within the Star Sect, the Inner Sect Disciples who wielded real power were truly influential figures. A single word from them could carry more weight than an edict from a Sovereign.
Many Sovereigns even tried to curry favor with these disciples by marrying their Princesses to them as concubines.
Of course, joining the Star Monarch Division was just one possible path. The Star Sect was a behemoth with numerous divisions.
There was the Inspection Division, for example, which supervised the many kingdoms and sects and held immense authority.
Then there was the Alchemy Hall, which collected Spirit Medicines and held the lifelines of many disciples in its hands; even the renowned Medicine King Hall was a subordinate branch of the Alchemy Hall.
There were many such paths. Each one could ultimately lead to the position of a True Disciple, or even that of the Supreme Sect Leader.
One such path was to become one of the Dukes.
This was the path chosen by disciples like Shenxiu, Ye Ding, Ling Shuanghua, and Qin Feng, as it offered greater freedom.
However, taking control of an entire city was no easy feat.
Just as Qin Feng arrived in Feitian Town, so too did the elites of the Qin Family. After a long three-month journey, they were travel-worn but had finally come to rendezvous with him. They were all preparing to head to Yunhu City together to help Qin Feng establish the Qin Family of Yunhu City...
