Your Beloved Sweetheart Is Online

Chapter 2182 - 2185: Behave Yourself!

The private doctor noticed his dark expression; he’d clearly long since grown used to dealing with all kinds of family members, and knew that at this moment silence spoke louder than words, so he quietly slipped out in the least conspicuous way possible.

Zun Zun rubbed her burning-red face with the pad of his finger. "Girls like you really aren’t the least bit likable to men. Who’s ever going to fancy you? So damn stubborn, insisting on doing men’s work. By the time I’ve got a son and a daughter, you’ll still be a single Golden Saint Seiya!"

He cursed as he wrung out the wet towel and pressed it to her forehead. She was muttering something in her sleep; he lowered his head, bringing his ear to her lips, but couldn’t quite make it out.

Qingqing’s pale lips parted faintly, her dazed, unfocused eyes opening as she stared blankly at his face.

Zun Zun pinched her jaw, which had grown sharp from the high fever. "Qingqing, you awake?"

But there was no light in her eyes.

"Look closely—who am I?"

Her lips moved, but she closed her eyes again.

Helpless, Zun Zun flicked her forehead hard. "Might as well let the fever cook you to death and be done with it, you walking trouble magnet!"

Qingqing opened her eyes again, tears spilling silently down. She turned her head away, refusing to acknowledge him. She was taking Zun Zun for Sheng Sheng, seeing him as nothing but a pervert, and she didn’t want to talk to a pervert. A woman this weak had every right to throw a tantrum, even if he was never the type to compromise over a woman’s moodiness.

Qingqing knew that the only woman in this world who could make him compromise—her name was Ling Maimai.

So she wouldn’t humiliate herself by begging for his sympathy.

She had come to, staring at the ceiling, and realized she was in the bedroom. Bracing her weak body, she tried to sit up, only to be pushed back down by Zun Zun. "What are you getting up for? Need the bathroom?"

Qingqing ignored him, her hanging hand weakly pressing against the mattress as she sat up again, muttering to herself. "I have to go read. I have to pass the next assessment. I will not let you look down on me."

Zun Zun’s throat bobbed; he suddenly felt off, like he really wanted to slap her. He glared at her, irritated. "What’s the point of being this stubborn?"

Qingqing shot him a defiant glare, shoved him aside, and got to her feet. She was in good shape; she wouldn’t collapse from a fever like most women. Instead, she straightened her back, taking weak, measured steps toward the living room, where a thick stack of books lay piled on the table.

Zun Zun followed behind her, furious, but he only watched, wanting to see what this obstinate woman was trying to do.

One hand in his pocket, he watched her sit back down where she’d fainted earlier and flip open the thick review materials. They were specialized aerospace texts—way beyond what a girl with only a junior high education could be expected to understand.

Zun Zun fished out a cigarette, lit it coldly while standing beside her, and took a drag.

Qingqing was much clearer now. She picked up a bottle of medicated oil from beside her and took a whiff, forcing herself to perk up. Zun Zun regarded her like a statue might, his gaze dark as deep water. Who was it that said there are women in this world who are like wild grass?

He swore that in this moment he wanted to crush every blade of wild grass by the roadside into the dirt, until there wasn’t a single sprout left in the whole world!

Once the cigarette had burned down to about half, Zun Zun couldn’t find an ashtray, so he simply flicked it to the floor and ground it under his polished shoe. The next second he abruptly reached over, scooped her up in his arms.

Qingqing was so startled she sobered up completely. "What are you doing? Put me down!"

"Behave yourself, or I’ll drop you right on the floor!" Zun Zun’s chest ached for no reason, a tight, suffocating pressure. Holding her, he kicked the door open and snapped at the guard standing outside, "Get the car ready. We’re going back to Canada!"
