Your Spell Version is Too Low!

Chapter 370 339: So What If a True Monarch Comes in Person?

In the Spirit Mountain Sacred Realm, the night was deep and silent.

Deep within the heart of the mountain, the gates to a secret hall were sealed shut.

The windowless hall was lit solely by the soft, milky-white halos of eighty-one Night-Bright Treasure Beads embedded in its walls. At its center, they illuminated a nine-foot-square White Jade Lotus Platform.

Atop the platform sat two Buddhist Cultivator Arhats, facing each other, draped in brocade kasayas.

The one on the left, named Vast Power Arhat, was burly with a pale golden complexion, a curly beard, and round eyes.

The one on the right, named Jue Yi Arhat, was slim with a compassionate face, three long strands of a beard, and eyes that gleamed with wisdom.

A Bronze Buddha Lamp of a strange, ancient design floated before them.

The lamp had no wick or oil, yet a pure, blazing white flame churned ceaselessly within its core.

Within the flame, tens of thousands of spectral faces appeared, densely packed—men, women, the old, and the young.

Their expressions were all wooden and hollow, their eyes unfocused. Yet, their lips opened and closed in perfect unison, silently chanting some scripture.

With their "chanting," minuscule, pale golden motes of Wish Power seeped from the center of their spectral foreheads. They flowed into the white flame to be repeatedly tempered and purified.

Finally, they transformed into strands of a strange energy as condensed as platinum threads, radiating pure faith and a submissive will—Wish Power Essence.

Vast Power Arhat opened his mouth and inhaled. A strand of the platinum essence shot into his mouth like a nimble snake. A faint Treasure Light immediately suffused his pale golden skin, his muscles seemed to swell slightly, and he let out a low hum of satisfaction.

"Tsk. This Fertile Land of the Central Plains is so densely populated. The Wish Power gathered here is truly abundant."

Vast Power Arhat finished the refinement and opened his round eyes, a sharp light glinting within them. His voice was filled with undisguised satisfaction.

"In this month alone, the essence we've gathered and refined from this Wish Lamp of All Beings is equal to what we'd gain after a year of hard work on some remote island Overseas!

No wonder the Bodhisattvas were so decisive back then, withdrawing all our foundations from Overseas to move here and pour most of our efforts into this land…

Truly, they were far-sighted and had planned for this long ago."

Jue Yi Arhat also breathed meditatively, drawing a strand of essence into the Ancestral Acupoint between his brows. A jade-like sheen spread across his face. Hearing Vast Power Arhat's words, he stroked his beard and smiled. His voice was gentle, yet it held a matter-of-fact apathy.

"You are quite right, Brother Vast Power.

Spreading the Buddha's Rhyme so widely does indeed permeate the land and erode the innate spiritual spark of these mortals.

But this also helps them cast off worldly desires, restrain their hearts, and listen daily to the supreme voice of the Buddha.

In the long run, the seeds of goodness will be deeply planted, allowing them to escape suffering and find joy.

Is that not an act of… supreme merit?"

Vast Power Arhat boomed with laughter, his voice shaking the secret hall.

"That's right, that's right! Merit, great merit!

Tomorrow, we'll go to the Alms Hall and withdraw a few more pots of this Wish Power Essence. Our cultivation will surely advance another step!

Then, at the dharma assembly…"

Before he could finish.

Inside the secret hall, the constant, gentle glow of the treasure beads suddenly… flickered, ever so faintly.

Both Arhats possessed Foundation Establishment Cultivation, their Spiritual Sense far keener than any mortal's. A sense of alarm flared in their minds at almost the exact same moment.

"Who?!"

Vast Power Arhat bellowed, his voice like a shattering golden bell. His burly form shot to its feet as the pale golden light around him erupted.

The spectral image of a Furious Vajra instantly enveloped him, and an immense, ferocious aura swept through the hall like a volcanic eruption.

Jue Yi Arhat's expression darkened as well. He rose to his feet, a string of prayer beads already in his hand. They seemed ordinary but pulsed with fluctuations of Heart and Spirit. His Wisdom Eye was as sharp as lightning.

However, they were too slow. In the very instant their auras erupted, just as they were about to unleash their Divine Techniques, the entire scene within the secret hall, like a mural being wiped away by an invisible, giant hand, instantly… faded!

The White Jade Lotus Platform, the Bronze Buddha Lamp, the Night-Bright Treasure Beads, the Brocade Meditation Mats, even the hard stone walls and floor…

In an instant, every tangible object lost its inherent form and color, dissolving into a meaningless torrent of flowing, blending shapes and lines,

which was then devoured by a boundless, chaotic void that seemed to have existed since before the dawn of creation.

Purity and turbidity were undivided, Yin and Yang were undifferentiated, and earth, fire, wind, and water were not yet set.

Only a vast, endless gray mist flowed in silence, enacting the most primitive cycle of creation and annihilation.

"Tsk."

A distinct clicking of a tongue, tinged with faint derision, echoed through the deathly silent, chaotic void, reaching the two Arhats' ears with perfect clarity.

"To describe bewitching minds and deceiving souls in such a fresh and unconventional way, so rich yet not at all cloying…

To have mastered the art of self-deception to such a seamless, natural degree."

The voice was calm and detached, as if merely critiquing the flavor of a dish.

"In this regard, Buddhist Cultivators are truly far beyond both the Righteous and Demonic Daos, completely in a league of their own."

Vast Power and Jue Yi were now frozen within the chaotic mist, like insects trapped in amber.

The shock, anger, majesty, and even the flicker of panic that had just appeared on their faces all froze, replaced by boundless horror and disbelief.

'What kind of Divine Technique is this?'

'To drag them from a secret hall in the Spirit Mountain Sacred Realm into this completely alien and eerie Realm Heaven, where the very Laws are different?'

'Here, their proud Arhat's Golden Body and Heart and Mind Wisdom Light felt as if they were mired in a bottomless swamp, more than ten times harder to circulate!'

'Status suppression!'

'To suppress them, two cultivators at the Foundation Establishment Early Stage, to this extent… It has to be a Great Master!'

"Who goes there?! How dare you trespass on Spirit Mountain and ambush me…" Vast Power Arhat roared, trying to channel all his Magical Power to break free of his bonds.

But in this chaotic void, his voice traveled only a short distance before being swallowed by the swirling mist, sounding faint and powerless.
