Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Likes Pretty Older Sisters
Sophia Shaw answered the phone with a smile. When she saw her mother-in-law leaning in, she had no choice but to put the call on speakerphone. "Finn," she said gently, "what’s up?"
Jared Sterling stood a short distance away, frowning at Ian Sterling. He really couldn’t understand what Ian was doing.
Ian Sterling was never one to beat around the bush with his family. He didn’t waste any time and asked directly, "Sophia, where do you buy your lipstick?"
Jared Sterling understood now. Speechless, he turned to the side, pulled out his phone, and secretly sent a message to his aunt.
Nina Norton frowned at Ian Sterling’s words, a little confused. Just then, her phone, which was sitting on the round table, buzzed. She glanced at it casually and saw it was a message from her nephew, displayed in the notification preview on her home screen.
"Aunt, check Finn’s feed."
Confused, she opened her younger son’s social media feed and saw the photo he had posted. Although there was no caption, remembering what her son had just asked, she was so exasperated she could barely breathe.
She handed the phone to Sophia Shaw. Sophia almost burst out laughing. She said to Ian Sterling, "If you’re not in a hurry, I can order some for you from abroad. If you are, there are a few brand-name stores on the third floor of our family’s mall you can check out. The main thing is, I’ve never met Miss Winslow, so I don’t know what would suit her and can’t give you a detailed recommendation."
"Got it. Thanks, Sophia." After hanging up, Ian Sterling grabbed a tissue, wiped his face, and picked up his car keys to head out.
Jared Sterling called after him, "Where are you going?"
Ian Sterling ignored him.
The mall wasn’t far, and Ian Sterling arrived after a short drive. The security guard at the entrance spotted him and quickly called the manager to give him a heads-up.
Ian Sterling didn’t notice the guard’s subtle action. He got on the elevator and went straight to the third floor his sister-in-law had mentioned.
His slightly curly red hair was already eye-catching, complemented by his cool-toned fair skin and delicate features. With broad shoulders and a narrow waist, he had the perfect physique of a male model. Even the saleswomen, who were used to seeing the young masters and ladies of Quartos, couldn’t help but be stunned.
A slightly older saleswoman approached him with a gentle smile and asked what he needed. He glanced around the store, his brow furrowing at the bewildering array of makeup products.
He knew nothing about this stuff. His personal assistant usually bought his skincare products, hairspray, cologne, and the like. Since he never had to worry about it, he’d never bothered to learn about any of it.
He had no choice but to hand the saleswoman the tissue he’d been clutching—the one he’d used to wipe the lipstick mark from his face. "Do you have lipstick in this color?" he asked flatly.
The saleswoman glanced at it and said with a smile, "Yes, we do. This is from one of our brand’s bestselling lines."
"Oh," Ian Sterling said. His well-defined fingers crumpled the tissue as he calmly stated, "I’ll take all the bestsellers. Prepare seven sets. I’ll take one with me now. For the other six, I’ll give you addresses to have them delivered."
’He might not know the products, but that didn’t mean he didn’t understand what ’bestselling’ meant. If they sold well, there shouldn’t be any problem.’
The saleswoman’s eyes lit up. Forcing herself to hide her delight, she continued, "Of course, sir. Would you need anything else? For example, eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, highlighter, blush, and so on."
Ian Sterling’s frown deepened the more he heard, but he still grunted in agreement. "All the bestselling shades. Seven sets of those, too."
"Right away, sir. I’ll go prepare them now." The saleswoman turned and hurried off, pulling two of her colleagues over to help.
Their exchange had taken only a few minutes. The manager, terrified that the staff might offend the young master, had jogged all the way to the third floor. He paused at the entrance to catch his breath before daring to approach Ian Sterling and say respectfully, "Young Master."
Ian Sterling was sitting on a sofa, legs crossed, eyes glued to his phone. He was afraid he’d miss a message from Lynn Winslow.
The photo he had just posted to his feed already had over a hundred likes, and teasing comments were rolling in one after another.
He hadn’t replied to any of them. His screen was frozen on his chat with Lynn Winslow. Only when he heard the manager’s voice did he lazily lift his gaze.
"Young Master, if there’s anything you need, you can just tell me. I can arrange for someone to deliver it to your home," the manager said with an obsequious smile. Ian Sterling just grunted and looked back at his phone, leaving the manager to stand awkwardly to the side.
The other saleswomen were surprised by the manager’s behavior, only realizing the man’s identity when it was time to pay.
Ian Sterling handed his card to the saleswoman. The manager interjected, "Young Master, you can charge this directly to the company account."
"No need." ’What kind of gesture would it be to charge a gift for family to the company account?’ He gave his instructions: "Send one set to my eldest sister’s company, one to my second uncle’s house, and the rest to Aerie Garden."
The manager quickly agreed. "Yes, of course."
He personally escorted Ian Sterling to the parking garage, bowing to open the car door for him. He finally breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the big shot drive away with a smile.
Thinking it was about time, Ian Sterling didn’t wander. He drove straight to the lounge and parked in the lot downstairs. Resting his arms on the steering wheel, he gazed up at the lounge through the windshield.
After Lynn Winslow entered the lounge, Chloe Clayton, who was sitting in a booth by the floor-to-ceiling windows, waved at her. Beside Chloe sat a charming and cute girl whose eyes sparkled as she looked at Lynn. Lynn nodded at them, then said quietly to the bartender, "Come over in a moment."
The bartender acknowledged her request. Lynn walked over to Chloe and sat down across from the two of them. Only then did she see that both of their drinks were already half-empty. She laughed, amused. "I was only a little late. You’ve already had half a drink?"
Chloe Clayton blinked and leaned closer to Lynn Winslow, whispering gossipily, "Was that Finn from the Sterling family who dropped you off just now?"
Lynn Winslow crossed her legs, resting her chin on her hand, her slender arm propped on her knee. Her beautiful eyes sparkled, and the slight curve of her lips was a silent confirmation.
Chloe Clayton clapped her hands excitedly and said to the girl beside her, "See? I told you that was his car."
Flora Fairfax sat up straight and shyly extended her hand to Lynn Winslow. "Hi, I’m Flora Fairfax. I’m Chloe’s best friend."
"Hello." Lynn Winslow reached out and gently squeezed her fingertips. "You’re so cute," she praised.
"Ah!" Flora Fairfax covered her face and let out a tiny squeal. Her cheeks flushed so red they felt like they might steam. Not daring to look Lynn Winslow in the eye again, she averted her gaze and whispered, "Thanks... you too."
Chloe Clayton rolled her eyes at Flora Fairfax, then said to Lynn Winslow, "Don’t mind her. She just has a thing for beautiful women."
Lynn Winslow drew out a slow "Oh," her eyes curving into crescents as she looked at them.
"She grew up with me. She’s a distant relative of my family, actually. Fairfax Bank belongs to her family."
Lynn Winslow had thought her name sounded familiar. Hearing this, she lowered her gaze and thought for a moment before remembering. She asked Flora Fairfax, "Is your older brother Felix Fairfax?"
"Yes, yes! Have you met my brother?" Flora Fairfax nodded vigorously.
Lynn Winslow shook her head. "I haven’t met him, but I’ve heard of him."
Flora Fairfax mumbled "Oh, okay," a little disappointed. She had thought that if Lynn Winslow had met her brother, it would give them something more to talk about.
The bartender came over with a drink and placed it in front of Lynn Winslow. On the tray was also a black USB drive.
