Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 2001 - 1998: Kill!

Chapter 2001: Chapter 1998: Kill!

Zhang Lingyu was watching the Netherworld portal closely. At this moment, the passage dimmed, and his heart couldn’t help but clench. He shouted to Lin Tian, "Lin Tian, you can’t kill the Yaksha here. Don’t get entangled with him. Lure him into the Netherworld. If the altar is further destroyed, the passage will be closed."

"He’s a Yaksha, not a fool, and definitely not a little dog that will follow if you throw him a bone. It’s easier said than done," Lin Tian mumbled unclearly, due to his zombie teeth now.

He was naturally aware of the battle’s impact on the altar, but if there wasn’t a fight, not only the altar but everyone present would be destroyed.

After the Yaksha was slammed into the rock wall, it struggled a bit and was about to stand up when a shadow flashed by. Xu Feibai, holding the Flowing Light, stabbed the Yaksha’s neck, piercing through and nailing it to the rock wall.

Lin Tian also couldn’t think much and similarly flashed past; the Heavenly Tribulation Sword reverted to its purple sword form and pierced into the Yaksha’s back, penetrating through, similarly nailing into the rock wall. Black blood splattered out, covering Lin Tian and Xu Feibai.

The spine and neck are vital for all creatures, so Lin Tian and Xu Feibai attacked these two areas separately, though unsure if this rule applied to Netherworld creatures.

After being hit, the Yaksha struggled for a bit but then fell still. Lin Tian breathed a sigh of relief, retracted his zombie teeth, and returned to human form, also relieved that the battle was brief after his transformation, so Xiao Manxuan hadn’t noticed anything amiss.

Xu Feibai glanced at Lin Tian, remaining silent, but his gaze clearly said, what’s the point of hiding like this, your identity will be exposed sooner or later.

Lin Tian ignored this guy, stepping on the Yaksha’s "corpse," just about to pull out the Heavenly Tribulation Sword to give the Yaksha a few more strikes, planning to chop it up and toss it into the Netherworld, regardless of whether it was dead or alive.

Suddenly, the Yaksha moved, its head turned 180 degrees to stare at Lin Tian and Xu Feibai, bloodthirsty beyond measure. Almost simultaneously, the Yaksha’s limbs nearly simultaneously reversed 180 degrees, like a robot.

A gust of wind swept by. It was the Yaksha wielding its steel fork. All this happened in the blink of an eye. Lin Tian only had time to retrieve the Heavenly Tribulation Sword for a slight block.

Then there was a bang, and both Lin Tian and Xu Feibai were sent flying sideways and, like the Yaksha, smashed into the rock wall in a large figure.

Zhang Lingyu covered his eyes, indicating he couldn’t watch, "I told you, you can’t kill it."

"Humans are all lowly stink bugs dreaming of killing me, simply wishful thinking." With a boom, the Yaksha stood up, its steel fork tapping the ground, creating a deafening sound.

Buzz...

A strange sound suddenly emerged, clearly not loud, yet it completely suppressed the noise made by the Yaksha. Then, a stream of dark red vapor emerged from the crack in the altar, condensing in the air above the altar, slowly forming a sword.

A blood-red sword, shrouded in dark air, as soon as it formed, the entire cave suddenly grew incredibly oppressive, even the air seemed to thicken, immobilizing people, meanwhile, everyone felt an earth-shattering killing intent.

It was neither the murderous aura of a maniac nor of a killer; this killing intent was tangible, pure beyond belief.

In a decade where killing intent flourished, Liu He was sparsely inhabited, that was the battlefield’s dust overwhelming, killing intent surging, covering the expansive terrains, blocking all five directions, filling the heavens and earth.

What maniacs, what assassins, before this pure killing intent, they were but insignificant like dust, not worth mentioning.

Kill!

A desolate voice sounded, ruthless, cold-blooded. Lin Tian struggled to turn his head towards the altar because this voice, brimming with killing intent, unexpectedly came from the crack!

As soon as the word "kill" dropped, the sword formed from the dark red vapor trembled and shot towards the Yaksha.

"No..." The arrogant Yaksha was now panicked with fear, desperately leaping to escape towards the Netherworld portal.

The Ghost Wolf Yaksha, who viewed all humans as Blood Sea Stink Bugs, was now like a stray dog, offering no resistance, only with one thought, survival!

The supposedly immortal Yaksha, was frightened and terrified, all because of this Illusion Sword.

The Yaksha’s huge palm had already touched the edge of the passageway, and he felt the suction from the Netherworld portal. As usual, he could easily and swiftly traverse through the portal.

But now the cave space seemed frozen, making his escape arduous. Just as he struggled to enter the portal, the Illusion Sword arrived silently, piercing into the Yaksha’s massive body.

The sword disintegrated, transforming into countless streams of dark red vapor, traveling through the Yaksha’s body. In an instant, the Yaksha’s body exploded with a boom, turning into blood mist.

Within the cave, black blood rain poured down, the rain falling on the altar which began to tremble, its cracks slowly closing and finally merging completely.

Black blood flowed, gathering beneath the totem pole, reversing upward to fill every carving and groove of the pole. When the whole totem pole was covered in Yaksha blood, it shuddered, and an ink-green beam shot out, piercing into the Netherworld portal.

Seeing the ink-green column appear, Zhang Lingyu wasn’t worried; instead, he was pleasantly surprised. The portal entrance glowed, then began to expand, eventually growing to match the altar’s size before stopping.

At this moment, the passage was incredibly stable, its area several times larger than before. Lin Tian felt provocation, a provocation towards the Netherworld.

Lin Tian and Xu Feibai were dumbfounded, Zhang Lingyu and Xiao Manxuan outside the tomb were wide-mouthed, none had quite registered what had happened, as happiness arrived so rapidly, so suddenly, and equally shockingly.

"This... is kind of flamboyant, but I like it." Lin Tian jumped down from the rock wall, storing away the Heavenly Tribulation Sword, now wishing he could give a hundred likes to the mysterious helper.

Speaking of, who exactly is aiding us? Lin Tian pondered.

"With such a ruckus, won’t it alert the Netherworld Ghost Messengers?" Xiao Manxuan finally closed her rosy lips but soon voiced another query.

As soon as she finished speaking, rumblings echoed from the portal, as if many things were approaching, followed by shouts, "Who dares be so bold, to..."

Before the sentence ended, a stream of dark red vapor shot from the totem pole, transformed into the Illusion Sword, and rushed into the portal. Screams, cries of alarm, all echoed forth, mere breaths later, the portal returned to silence, as though nothing had occurred.

The four were once again stupefied, Lin Tian recalled a line from a movie: "Anyone else?"

No mistake, it was like declaring to the Netherworld: "Does anyone else oppose?" Dominant! Lin Tian could only find this word to describe it.

"Lingyu, is this your ultimate move?" Xiao Manxuan couldn’t help but ask, since the maneuver looked somewhat like a Demon Exorcism Skill.

Lin Tian and Xu Feibai also looked towards Zhang Lingyu. The Beautiful Sky Master hurriedly shook her head, denying, "Not me. If I had the ability to instantly kill the Yaksha, why bother with so much drama, I would’ve done it long ago."

"Then who exactly is assisting us?" Xiao Manxuan asked, puzzled.
