Chapter 2006 - 2003: Yaksha Once More

Chapter 2006: Chapter 2003: Yaksha Once More

Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan both nodded, indicating their understanding, and only then did Zhang Lingyu continue walking forward.

In front of Naihe Bridge, there was a stone pavilion, inside which stood a large pot from which steam rose—this was Mengpo Soup. Lin Tian let out a surprised sound, for there was no Meng Po in the pavilion, but rather several female ghost officers draped in white veils distributing Mengpo Soup to the spirits.

These women all had Ghost Messenger Tokens at their waists, thus Lin Tian concluded that these women were ghost messengers.

"Lucky, Meng Po’s not here," Zhang Lingyu whispered.

With that, the three quickened their pace through the pavilion, where the ghost messengers distributing Mengpo Soup only nodded, not speaking much to Lin Tian and the others.

Lin Tian and the others nodded in response, pretending they had a mission, not stopping, and continued towards Naihe Bridge. Just as they were about to step onto the bridge, a leisurely voice suddenly rang out.

"You three, stop." A female voice called out to Lin Tian and the others.

Discovered? Lin Tian’s heart skipped, he clenched his fists, and the three slowly turned around to see a woman. The woman wore a plain dress, was tall, fair-skinned, and beautiful, her eyebrows and eyes artistically drawn—a real heavenly beauty.

"Meng Po!" Lin Tian immediately recognized the woman’s identity.

"Is this Meng Po?" Xiao Manxuan widened her eyes in disbelief: "Isn’t Meng Po supposed to be an old lady?"

"Of course it’s Meng Po, Meng Po’s not a granny, Yue Lao isn’t old, who says Meng Po’s image is an old lady?" Zhang Lingyu explained in a low voice.

"But she’s too beautiful and so young," Xiao Manxuan was still in disbelief, the Meng Po before their eyes was as beautiful as a fairy, utterly mismatched with the name Meng Po.

Meng Po waved her hand, and a stream of air shot out swiftly, reaching the three instantly, and upon touching the airflow, Lin Tian and the others immediately returned to their original appearances.

The sudden change caused chaos in the pavilion, and guards of Naihe Bridge rushed over, surrounding the pavilion completely.

"Damn, our identities are exposed," Zhang Lingyu exclaimed in a low voice.

"So unlucky," Xiao Manxuan was very upset, she had just praised Meng Po’s beauty, and now their identities were unmasked.

"No matter, let’s break through," Lin Tian clenched his wrist, his gaze coldly surveying the surrounding ghost messengers.

However, Meng Po waved her hand to stop the ghost messengers and then said to Lin Tian: "This is Naihe Bridge, don’t disturb the ghosts from drinking Mengpo Soup. Whatever you want, state it clearly."

"So easy to talk to?" Lin Tian muttered internally, pondering how to escape, when a group of people came from the opposite direction on Naihe Bridge.

This team wore bright armor and moved in an orderly fashion, clearly different from ordinary ghost messengers, likely the legendary ghost soldiers. Leading the ghost soldiers were two individuals, one a tall man in black armor, draped in a blood-red cloak, holding a large blade that shimmered with cold light.

Looking at the other, both Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu were stunned, because it was none other than Mu Yun, the envoy they had met recently.

Mu Yun was still dressed in leather armor, a black short-skirt armor, wearing black boots, her long legs were strong and powerful, an absolute dark night female warrior, sensual yet carrying a deadly allure, and of course, danger.

Especially now, knowing she’s a Yaksha, Lin Tian felt even more that a beautiful Yaksha like her was unconquerable by any man.

The ghost soldier squad moved quickly, soon surrounding the outside of the pavilion, and the man in black armor and Mu Yun entered, first saluting Meng Po, then looking at Lin Tian and the others.

Seeing Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu, Mu Yun showed no surprise.

"You already knew we entered the Netherworld?" Lin Tian frowned, asking, Mu Yun’s reaction seemed very strange.

"I knew, please come with me," Mu Yun nodded with a touch of courtesy.

"Why bother talking with them, just take them," the man in black armor was rude, terribly impatient, with an air of disdain.

Lin Tian squinted slightly, reached out his hand, and his expression cooled: "Come on, take out your Soul-locking Chain, let’s see who can lock them."

Mu Yun glanced at the man in black armor, clearly displeased: "Commander Hei, it was agreed when we came, I’m in charge of the operation."

The man in black armor snorted but didn’t speak further, Lin Tian found this quite strange, these people were fighting among themselves before any confrontation with them, Xiao Manxuan and Zhang Lingyu also looked equally puzzled.

"Please come with me," Mu Yun, having subdued Commander Hei, tried once more to lead the three away, naturally without Commander Hei’s rudeness.

"Go or not?" The two women looked at Lin Tian to make the decision.

Lin Tian said indifferently: "Considering Mu Yun helped us once before, we should repay the favor and go with her, see what they’re up to."

Last time at the Zhang Family Town Spirit Tower, encountering Mu Yun, she didn’t report their intrusion to the Zhang Family Elders, indeed a huge help; it’s not Lin Tian’s style to overlook a favor.

"But..." Lin Tian paused, his gaze sweeping over Commander Hei again: "Mu Yun Envoy, we can go with you, but I don’t want to see him, he’s an eyesore."

"You... courting death!" The thought of being despised by a mortal infuriated Commander Hei so much that his nose crooked, with a clang, he drew his blade, ready to strike.

"Commander Hei!" Mu Yun snapped, unceremoniously: "I’m not your direct superior, but I have some acquaintance with your Great Commander, if you persist, explain yourself to him when you’re back!"

The large blade, originally poised to strike, immediately stopped upon hearing "Great Commander," the man’s expression shifting, quite unpleasant.

"Let’s go," Commander Hei gritted his teeth, sheathed the blade, turned and left, taking half of the ghost soldiers with him.

Once Commander Hei left, Mu Yun saluted Meng Po, then gestured to Lin Tian and the others to set out. As they exited the pavilion, Xiao Manxuan couldn’t help but glance back at Meng Po, noticing Meng Po also watching them.

She paused, then offered Meng Po a kind smile. Unexpectedly, Meng Po responded by nodding.

"Meng Po is really beautiful, but does she know me?" Xiao Manxuan asked in confusion.

The Mu Yun Envoy shook her head: "Meng Po has always been kind to those who are good-hearted, there’s no need to feel strange."

"Really?" Xiao Manxuan seemed doubtful, though still with a peculiar feeling.

"By the way, Mu Yun Envoy, what’s going on with you? And why are you the one meeting us?" Zhang Lingyu interrupted, puzzled by Mu Yun Envoy’s arrival, logically, the ancient battlefield area wasn’t under her jurisdiction.

The Mu Yun Envoy hesitated, then said: "Why? That’s something you should ask yourselves, isn’t your own awareness of your actions sufficient? As for why I’m here, that’s the City Lord’s arrangement."

"City Lord? Which City Lord?" Lin Tian wondered.

"Naturally the Fengdu City Lord, you’ll know once you come with me," Mu Yun Envoy responded calmly, offering no further explanation.
