Chapter 2015 - 2012: Huangquan Inn

Chapter 2015: Chapter 2012: Huangquan Inn

Xiao Manxuan was delighted by the words, but immediately became anxious: "The Guqin is not with me..."

As soon as she finished speaking, Lin Tian had already flung the Guqin. The Guqin traced a parabola, flying towards the two women. Zhang Lingyu hurriedly caught it, unzipping her backpack and the instrument case.

She held up the Guqin, and Xiao Manxuan couldn’t afford to be choosy. She closed her eyes slightly, and when they opened again, there was a different look in them. In the realm of playing the Guqin, she was like an innate-level expert, quickly entering the state.

"Ding-dong..."

The clear and melodious sound of the Guqin rang out, and invisible sound waves spread. The Banshee Spiritual Body floating in midair paused noticeably, and her song also came to a brief stop.

Mu Yun, who was fiercely fighting Lin Tian, suddenly stopped. Lin Tian’s fist nearly hit her face, but he managed to hold it in time.

However, this pause was brief. The Banshee Spiritual Body only hesitated for a moment before singing again, and every so often, it uttered a special note, as if calling for something.

Before long, more fog rolled in from afar, and more Banshee Spiritual Bodies appeared within the mist. From all directions, more and more Banshees gathered. Their collective chanting filled the air, the Banshee’s songs resonating from all directions.

Xiao Manxuan played the Guqin diligently, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. In the midst of the song and the Guqin’s melody, Mu Yun oscillated between clarity and madness.

"Lin... Tian, I can’t play anymore..." Xiao Manxuan’s hands trembled slightly as if unable to control the Guqin’s sound.

"Lin Tian, the Banshee Spiritual Bodies are increasing, and Xuanxuan can’t fully harness the Guqin’s power to counteract their singing. We need to retreat," Zhang Lingyu urged anxiously.

Lin Tian parried Mu Yun’s attack and frowned deeply: "You guys retreat first. I must meet Meng Po, even if it means burning the Other Shore Flower Sea."

"Don’t. The Other Shore Flower Sea is Meng Po’s domain. If you burn it, she won’t help you anymore." Mu Yun came to her senses slightly, suppressing the frenzy in her heart and persuading with difficulty.

"You should have said so earlier. Draw me a map and I’ll go alone immediately." Lin Tian frowned deeply, nearly unable to resist setting the Banshee Spiritual Bodies ablaze with purple flame.

Back at the Island Country Shrine, Lin Tian had battled with Shishen before. Shishen are a type of Spiritual Body, and these Spiritual Bodies are not invincible. With the right method, they can also be destroyed.

"You won’t find Huangquan Inn on your own, and you don’t encounter Banshee Spiritual Bodies every time. We were just unlucky this time..." Mu Yun gritted her teeth and said. After she spoke, the clarity in her eyes gradually dissipated again, becoming wild.

Lin Tian was unwilling, but it would be unwise to linger. He gritted his teeth, planning to leave first and find an opportunity to return later.

At this moment, a red light appeared in the distance, getting closer. Lin Tian recognized it as a red lantern, carried by a woman in a white dress, gracefully approaching.

The arrival of the woman in the white dress suddenly caused the Banshees to cease their singing and scatter in all directions, yet maintaining a distant circle without disappearing. Whether the Banshees feared the woman or the red lantern was unknown.

"Who is she? The Banshee Spiritual Bodies seem to fear her," Xiao Manxuan asked curiously.

"It’s not her they fear, but the red lantern she holds. Such strong mana fluctuations," Zhang Lingyu said, staring at the red lantern with amazement.

Her words also confirmed Lin Tian’s suspicion: the Banshee Spiritual Bodies indeed feared the lantern.

Mu Yun shook her head, banishing the frenzy from her mind. The horns on her head gradually vanished. She came to a clearer state and bowed to the woman in the white dress: "Hongling Envoy..."

"Follow me," Hongling Envoy said no more, her tone very calm, yet her gaze swept across the Guqin: "Put it away."

"Why? Is there something wrong with the Guqin?" Lin Tian asked casually, his intention being to glean more information about the Guqin from the mouth of the Hongling Envoy.

Hongling did not look at Lin Tian, but turned to walk, emitting an eerie voice: "It will attract all the Banshee Spiritual Bodies in the flower sea. If you don’t want to die, do as I say."

No more information about the Guqin was forthcoming, but Lin Tian understood it as a warning. Huangquan Inn truly was a unique place, situated in such a perilous area.

With the guidance of the Hongling Envoy, the Banshee Spiritual Bodies dared not disturb them further. As they traversed the Other Shore Flower Sea, they soon saw a manor ahead. Though called a manor, it wasn’t larger than Xianlin Villa.

The manor was not surrounded by walls, only simple fences, yet none of the wandering Spiritual Bodies outside dared enter its vicinity. The manor had few buildings, just a few wooden houses, simple yet exquisite.

The manor before them was not what Lin Tian imagined. In his mind, Huangquan Inn’s status should mean grand pavilions and even halls, more impressive than the City Lord’s Mansion.

This surprised Lin Tian, especially upon realizing that the manor had green plants! Since entering the Netherworld, this was the first green vegetation Lin Tian had seen.

There was even a garden around the wooden house. Be it flowers or greenery, they were no different from those in the Human Realm, and Lin Tian almost felt he had returned to the human world.

The Netherworld’s wilderness also had plants, but all grew in bizarre forms. The Other Shore Flower Sea outside the manor was even more mysterious, with flowers as red as blood and the flower and leaf never meeting. Such things shouldn’t exist in the Human Realm.

The manor’s green plants seemed like an oasis of life amidst this flower sea, ethereal and grounded all at once.

"How did Meng Po do it?" Zhang Lingyu wondered, her eyes gleaming as she surveyed the green plants.

"What’s so strange about it?" Xiao Manxuan, not knowledgeable about the Netherworld, failed to understand Zhang Lingyu’s question.

Zhang Lingyu walked further into the manor and took a deep breath, face filled with delight: "This is the breath of life, appearing in the Netherworld. The Netherworld is full of yin energy and dense with the aura of death. Plants from the Human Realm cannot survive here, yet Huangquan Inn is full of them. It’s unbelievable."

"All the plants were planted by Meng Po herself. If you have any questions, you can ask her directly," Hongling stopped in her tracks upon hearing this.

Simultaneously, Hongling’s gaze turned towards the nearby garden, where a young, beautiful woman in a simple long dress, her figure slender, with unbound black hair flowing behind her stood.

The woman walked barefoot on the ground, her toes shimmering as white as snow, like jade, like satin. She occasionally bent over or supported the plants, tending them meticulously. The scene was picturesque, exceptionally beautiful.

Although it was not his first time seeing Meng Po, Lin Tian was still astounded by her youth and beauty. Moreover, there was a faint, special aura about her, drawing people naturally closer rather than in awe.
