Chapter 2121: Chapter 2118: Dragon Ball?
"Really? Already asleep? Or is she drunk?" Lin Tian mumbled, wondering if a distinguished female entrepreneur would have such a low tolerance for alcohol. Or perhaps after an exhausting night, she was just too tired?
Nonetheless, the sleeping Ou Qinglan had a stunning allure and temptation. Long eyelashes, a flushed face, leaning against the sofa with her curvaceous figure on display.
At this age, Ou Qinglan was more mature than Miss, but more youthful than Mrs. Xiao, exuding a kind of gentle charm with an amazing allure, especially when she shed her tough exterior to reveal a different elegance.
"Being a female entrepreneur isn’t easy, she must not have it easy on a regular basis either." Lin Tian thought for a moment and decided not to wake her up. He understood the challenges women face in business; it’s the same for Mrs. Xiao, Miss, and Ou Qinglan.
Lin Tian bent down, sliding his arms through the bend of Ou Qinglan’s legs and her slender waist, easily lifting her. Though Ou Qinglan was tall, she wasn’t heavy; women always seemed to be on the path of dieting, even when they were already slim enough.
He placed Ou Qinglan on the bed, while he opted to lie on the sofa. In fact, the sofa was wide and spacious enough to serve perfectly as a bed, and besides, he was never picky about where he slept.
After Lin Tian lay down, Ou Qinglan on the bed opened her eyes, slightly turning her face to look at Lin Tian on the sofa. This female entrepreneur suddenly felt shy, then showed a smile, followed by a faint feeling of disappointment in her heart.
To her, this night undoubtedly carried complex emotions.
Lin Tian fell asleep shortly after lying down, but it felt like he hadn’t slept for long when the long sound of a steam whistle woke him up. He checked the time and realized he hadn’t slept for many hours; glancing out the porthole, a small island appeared in the distance.
He vaguely recognized the island, recalling it’s where the Ou’s Manor was located. It turned out they had already reached Ou Family Seaside Manor.
There was a light sound from the bed, and Lin Tian turned back to find Ou Qinglan awake. After resting, she looked even more radiant, with a faint blush on her face—perhaps the lingering effect of red wine.
"We’re here," Lin Tian said with a smile.
In a room shared by a single man and woman, Ou Qinglan remained calm and composed, replying with a smile, "I’m really sorry, I fell asleep listening last night."
"I’m the one who disturbed your rest, as long as you don’t mind," Lin Tian said seriously.
Soon, the cruise ship stopped, and Lin Tian was about to leave when the doorbell suddenly rang. Lin Tian and Ou Qinglan exchanged a glance; the female entrepreneur showed a hint of embarrassment, considering they had spent the night alone.
However, she quickly regained her composure, walked over to the door, only to find Grace, the female doctor, standing outside. Seeing Ou Qinglan, she couldn’t help but pause, then displayed an expression of envy.
"Sister Qing, I’m here for Lin Tian," Grace said.
Lin Tian walked over, curiously asking, "What’s going on?"
Grace shrugged, equally confused, "I’m not sure either. I just ran into the captain, who said there’s something urgent for you on the deck."
"Oh?" Lin Tian questioned, then straightforwardly said, "Let’s go take a look."
The three of them left the rest area and climbed onto the deck, now bathed in bright sunshine dispelling the nighttime chill. Crew members were gathered in a circle, seemingly discussing something. Lin Tian overheard words like "Dragon Ball" and "pearl."
When everyone saw Lin Tian and Ou Qinglan appear, they quickly made way for them, and the captain jogged over with excitement: "Miss, Brother Lin Tian, hurry and take a look—I found something good in the shell!"
Lin Tian and Ou Qinglan exchanged glances and walked over, discovering the shell already opened, its meat starting to decay, and half of a sea-blue pearl exposed within it.
"Pearl?" Lin Tian asked curiously.
"Didn’t Brother Lin Tian mention dealing with the big shell last night? This morning, I remembered and pried it open, finding this. It looks like a pearl but doesn’t seem right—there’s no pearl this large in the world, right?" The captain expressed his confusion.
Lin Tian had commented on the shell’s beautiful pattern without thinking much, but fortunately, the captain was proactive; otherwise, such a large "pearl" would have been buried under the sea.
"Bring water to clean it," Ou Qinglan instructed.
A crew member brought a basin of clean water, and they extracted the pearl, dropping it into the water. The pearl was fist-sized, and after rinsing, it became crystal clear like jade.
Sunlight penetrated through the water, refracting blue light from the pearl and dyeing the water a sea-blue color, both magnificent and mysterious.
"Oh, it’s so beautiful..." Grace exclaimed.
Not just her, even the male crew members were captivated. Even Ou Qinglan, who had seen countless treasures, had her eyes light up.
Lin Tian, however, remained the calmest, until the Sword Spirit spoke and disturbed his serenity.
"Master, the pearl contains abundant energy, and it’s very gentle. If a cultivator absorbs it, their power would greatly increase," the Sword Spirit said.
Lin Tian’s eyes brightened with joy, "Really?"
"Of course, my king’s senses never err. This pearl has been nurturing for at least a thousand years. In Huaxia terms, it has absorbed the Spiritual Energy of the heavens and ocean, undoubtedly a treasure," the Sword Spirit affirmed.
"However..." It quickly added, hesitantly, "The pearl’s energy is full of life and too gentle, not matching your more volatile nature. Even if you absorb it, you won’t unleash its full potential."
"I feel that too," Lin Tian acknowledged faintly, though he wasn’t too disappointed—perhaps he’d seen too many treasures.
"Congratulations, Lin Tian, you’ve acquired a treasure. It’s truly a legendary tale," Ou Qinglan said with a smile, pleased for Lin Tian.
"Nothing legendary—it’s just a coincidence," Lin Tian replied indifferently.
While they spoke, the cruise ship had docked at Coastal Villa’s mooring site, with a yacht nearby, incomparable to the cruise ship.
This time, Ou Qinglan didn’t use a yacht because it couldn’t go far offshore, lacking proper emergency and medical equipment.
Lin Tian and Ou Qinglan returned to the villa, while Grace seemed a bit reluctant to part, earning her a knowing smile from Ou Qinglan.
"Lin Tian, what’s your plan? Returning immediately, or staying at the villa for a few days since it’s New Year’s?" Ou Qinglan asked.
"Staying a few days—will Sister Qing accompany me?" Lin Tian joked.
Ou Qinglan, not flustered like a young girl, instead confidently responded, "I’m fine with it; just afraid you might not dare?"
There seemed to be a hint or even a challenge in her words, tinged with anticipation.
Lin Tian, naturally, didn’t have much time, and honestly admitted, "I still have important matters in the Ancient Martial World that I must attend to."
"I understand..." Ou Qinglan said softly, her tone suddenly carrying some melancholy, with regret and disappointment in her eyes: "Ultimately, Ancient Martial Artists are different from us. Two worlds apart."
