Chapter 2136 - 2133: Fishing

Chapter 2136: Chapter 2133: Fishing

After walking for another ten minutes or so, they came across a fork in the road. One path led to the right, while the other continued upwards, and Ling Shuiyao stopped at the junction.

"Lin Tian, I’ll lead Miss and the others to the right, you continue upwards," Ling Shuiyao said.

"Are male and female guests at Langya Pavilion accommodated on separate hills?" Lin Tian was rather puzzled.

"Why ask so much? Just go when you’re told to. Others would jump at the chance," Ling Shuiyao pouted, her tone resembling anything but that of a host welcoming guests.

Lin Tian didn’t want to provoke this Little La Jiao either, so he nonchalantly said, "When in Rome, as they say. I’ll stay wherever you arrange."

"Xiao Tian, Xuanxuan, stay with Miss and don’t run around. There are many bad people on the mountain," Lin Tian advised.

This drew a roll of the eyes from Ling Shuiyao, as if he was implying that Langya Pavilion was in chaos. She shot Lin Tian a glare and left with Miss and the few other ladies.

Lin Tian was left all alone. Seeing no one around, he felt a bit disheartened. After all, he was a guest. Why was he left to chill here? Could this be Ling Shuiyao’s prank?

This Little La Jiao doesn’t know how to respect me as a pharmacist, does she? I guess a good spanking is in order. Lin Tian chuckled to himself.

He didn’t bother himself too much and continued upwards. As he rounded a hilltop, a pavilion appeared in front of him, with a man and woman standing there.

The two of them held longswords, dressed similarly to the sword-wielding women, wearing white robes with distinctive embroidery at the collars, identical to the patterns on Ling Shuiyao’s dress. They were probably Sword Holding Disciples of Langya Pavilion too.

Seeing Lin Tian appear, both of them seemed surprised and stepped forward to block Lin Tian’s path.

"Please halt, sir. This is a forbidden area, do not enter without permission," the female disciple looked Lin Tian over before speaking politely.

Lin Tian raised an eyebrow and thought, really, another forbidden area? Why do all the big families have forbidden areas? Qingshuang Pavilion did, and so did the Yun Family.

The female disciple, seeing Lin Tian not responding, reminded again, "You’re here for the Ancient Martial competition, right? The accommodations are left at the fork ahead."

"Young man, it’s best to follow your family elders. If you get lost, it won’t be good. Running into us isn’t a problem, but bumping into people from other families could be troublesome. Some families just aren’t easy to deal with," the male disciple gave a friendly smile, also giving a reminder.

Lin Tian smiled and took out a jade token from his pocket, showing it to the two disciples, half-dubious, "I didn’t know this was a forbidden area. Miss Ling Shuiyao sent me here. Oh, and here’s the jade token."

"A jade token?" The female disciple was once more surprised. She took the jade token and examined it. It faintly radiated a purple light, engraved with the words "Langya."

Her shock grew, and she quickly recomposed her expression, returned the jade token with both hands, and respectfully asked, "May I know how to address you, sir?"

"Lin Tian." Lin Tian answered truthfully.

"You’re Lin Tian!" Both sword-holding disciples gasped in shock, looking astonished.

Lin Tian scratched his forehead, puzzled, "You know me? Am I that famous?"

"Mr. Lin’s epic battle at Qingshuang Pavilion shook the Ancient Martial World. Who wouldn’t know? I didn’t expect Mr. Lin to be so young," the male disciple said excitedly, eyes full of admiration. The female disciple watched Lin Tian, her eyes sparkling.

The two Sword Holding Disciples weren’t very old, probably in their twenties, which made Lin Tian’s achievements even more shocking to them. They were several years older than Lin Tian but far less formidable.

However, being people of Langya Pavilion, they didn’t lose their composure. After a moment of shock, the female disciple recomposed herself and instructed the male disciple, "Junior brother, you continue to guard here. I’ll take Mr. Lin up."

"Yes, senior sister." The male disciple agreed, then bowed to Lin Tian.

The female disciple gestured for Lin Tian to proceed, and he cupped his fists, passed through the pavilion, and continued climbing, with the female disciple guiding him.

As they walked, she kept glancing at Lin Tian, piquing his curiosity until he couldn’t help but ask, "Senior sister, is there a bug on my face?"

"Oh, no..." She hurriedly replied, then shyly said, "Mr. Lin, I heard that you and Master Tang Banqing forged the Heavenly Tribulation Sword. May I..."

She was too embarrassed to finish, but Lin Tian understood and joked, "So senior sister wants to see the Heavenly Tribulation Sword; seems the sword’s charm is greater than mine."

"No, Mr. Lin is more handsome than I imagined," the female disciple quickly clarified.

Lin Tian smiled slightly, stretched out his hand, and the Heavenly Tribulation Sword appeared in it. The purple blade, with its ancient engravings, was longer and broader than the sword in the female disciple’s hand. Just by looking at its surface, one could tell it was extraordinary.

"Objection, I object! Master can’t use me to pick up girls!" the Sword Spirit started shouting in Lin Tian’s mind immediately.

"Objection overruled!" Lin Tian coldly dismissed and remarked disdainfully, "Also, get it straight, you’re just the Sword Spirit, only part of the Heavenly Tribulation Sword. I’m holding the sword itself now."

The female disciple, delighted, reached out a fair finger to touch the blade, hesitating, then withdrew.

"Here," Lin Tian directly handed her the sword.

She instinctively grasped it, but it was so heavy she almost dropped it. She was amazed, "What a heavy sword."

Being an Ancient Martial Artist, she naturally managed to hold it. Xiao Manxuan could lift it back then; she just wasn’t accustomed to the sword’s heavier weight compared to her own. Indeed, after gathering some strength, she easily held it.

"What a fine sword," she said, looking at the Heavenly Tribulation Sword with joy.

"She’s praising me," the Sword Spirit, who was protesting loudly moments ago, was now basking in the female disciple’s praise, utterly smug. Lin Tian showed it a disdainful middle finger.

Ling Xiao didn’t admire it for long and returned the Heavenly Tribulation Sword to Lin Tian, expressing gratitude, "Thank you, Mr. Lin."

"No need, it’s a small matter. By the way, how should I address you, senior sister?" Lin Tian asked casually.

"No need for ’senior sister,’ Mr. Lin. I’m Ling Xiao," the female disciple introduced herself solemnly.

"Ling Xiao, what a nice name. That Little La Jiao of yours, oh, I mean Ling Shuiyao, sent me here. She’s not planning to have me sleep in a cave, is she?" Lin Tian voiced his doubt.

"Pfft..." Ling Xiao couldn’t help but laugh at Lin Tian’s humorous remark. "Though Shuiyao’s a bit mischievous, she knows her boundaries. You are an honored guest; she’d not neglect Mr. Lin."

Not neglect? I’m very skeptical, Lin Tian thought inwardly.

Another fork appeared ahead, and Ling Xiao stopped, pointing to the stone path on the right, "Mr. Lin, follow this road. At the end, there’s a temple where you’ll be received."

After explaining, she bowed, wasted no time, and returned the way she came. Lin Tian was left to continue alone. After a while, he heard the sound of water and saw a mountain stream ahead. It wasn’t large but formed a small pool at a gentle spot, where an old man was fishing alone by the pool.
