Amon looked toward Seraphina. "We should buy it."

"Didn’t you hear what I just said?" She pointed at the tablet. "It’s broken."

"I know." Amon smiled. "Just trust me."

Seraphina stared into his eyes for several seconds. She clearly wanted to argue, but eventually sighed.

"...Fine."

Amon immediately called one of the nearby employees.

"Excuse me."

The employee approached them with a professional smile.

"Yes, sir?"

"I’d like to purchase that tablet."

The employee glanced toward the display before his expression became slightly awkward.

"Sir, I’m afraid you may have missed the warning." He pointed toward the description. "The tablet is damaged and incomplete."

"I know."

"You understand that we cannot guarantee what will happen if someone attempts to use it?"

"I understand."

The employee hesitated before nodding.

"Very well."

He unlocked the display case and carefully removed the tablet.

After placing it inside a protective container, he carried it toward the reception counter.

Amon and Seraphina followed behind him.

The receptionist looked up when they approached.

She was a woman in her twenties with neatly tied hair and a professional smile.

The moment she saw the tablet, however, her expression changed slightly.

"Oh?" Her eyes moved toward Amon. "You purchased this?"

"Yes."

She smiled brightly.

"May I have your identification?"

Amon reached into his pocket and pulled out his Adventure License. Before he could hand it over, he remembered something.

He placed it on the counter, then changed his mind and took out his bank card instead.

"Make the bill under Seraphina Vale."

Seraphina immediately looked at him.

"Wait, why are you pulling your card then?"

The receptionist began processing the purchase while keeping an eye on them.

Amon tried to clarify.

"Sera—"

Seraphina’s expression became annoyed.

"I can pay for it myself."

Amon shrugged before answering.

"I’m the one who suggested it." He looked at her calmly. "If it doesn’t work, I’m the one who’ll have wasted the money."

Seraphina opened her mouth to argue again.

Amon interrupted her. "So let me pay."

Seraphina stared at him for a moment before reluctantly looking away.

"...Fine."

The receptionist had been listening to their conversation with her ears practically standing upright.

A small smile appeared on her face.

She finished the payment and placed the protected tablet on the counter.

"Everything is ready." She glanced toward Amon. "May I have your name and address?"

Amon frowned. "Why?"

The receptionist smiled. "Customers who make purchases above a certain amount occasionally receive complimentary gifts from the store."

Amon immediately shook his head.

"No need."

He grabbed Seraphina’s hand.

"Let’s go."

"Wait—"

Amon was already walking toward the exit, and Seraphina stumbled slightly before quickly following him.

The receptionist watched them leave, but her smile remained.

The moment Amon and Seraphina disappeared from the store, the receptionist’s expression changed.

She picked up a communication device and made a call.

It rang several times before someone answered.

The receptionist immediately straightened her posture.

"Miss Rahima." There was a brief silence.

"Someone brought the broken tablet."

Amon and Seraphina eventually found a quiet cafeteria away from the main market.

They rented one of the private cabins so they could examine the tablet without attracting attention.

Amon placed the Absolute Freeze tablet on the table, and a mana pen rested between his fingers, which he had bought just moments ago.

Seraphina watched curiously. "What are you doing?"

"Fixing it."

Amon opened the rune instructions again.

He slowly began circulating his mana into the pen.

The tip of the pen immediately began glowing with a faint blue light.

Amon carefully drew the first rune onto the damaged portion of the tablet.

The moment he finished it, the crystal trembled slightly.

Seraphina’s eyes widened.

"You actually know how to use runes?"

"Kind of."

Amon continued working.

The second rune was considerably more complicated.

He carefully followed every line shown by the System, making sure not to make even the smallest mistake.

Finally, he completed the third rune.

The tablet suddenly emitted a faint hum as a wave of cold energy spread throughout the cabin.

Seraphina immediately felt it.

"That..." She stood up and walked around the table. "Did you fix it?"

Amon leaned back with a proud smile. "Looks like it."

He picked up the tablet and handed it toward her.

"Here."

Seraphina took it carefully, and a smile slowly appeared on her face.

"This could actually be a really good gift for my mother."

Amon nodded. "That’s what I thought."

Seraphina looked toward him.

"Thank you." She moved closer to him. "I really mean—"

She suddenly stopped when she noticed that their faces were only a few inches apart.

Amon could feel her warm breath against his face, and Seraphina’s eyes widened slightly.

Neither of them moved. Instead, the girl slowly leaned closer, and Amon instinctively leaned forward as well.

Their faces moved closer, but just before their lips could meet---

Knock. Knock.

Seraphina immediately jumped backward, her face becoming bright red.

She quickly moved to the opposite side of the cabin and sat down.

The door opened, and a waitress entered carrying two cups of coffee.

"Your coffee."

She placed the cups on the table before smiling politely.

"Enjoy."

The woman left and closed the door behind her.

Silence filled the cabin.

Amon eventually picked up his cup. "...Coffee?"

Seraphina nodded awkwardly. "Coffee."

The two silently drank.

After finishing their drinks, Amon and Seraphina eventually left the market.

The evening sky had become darker, and the streets were beginning to fill with lights.

Seraphina walked beside him with a small smile. "I had fun today."

Amon nodded. "Me too."

He glanced toward her. "Although I still think the swimsuit armor would’ve been a better gift."

Seraphina immediately punched his arm.

"Stop saying that!"

Amon laughed softly. "Your mother is conservative, I know."

Seraphina shook her head while smiling as she glanced at the time on her phone.

"My ride should be here soon."

Amon nodded. "Then I’ll see you later."

Seraphina stopped walking.

She looked at him for a few seconds before suddenly stepping closer.

"Thank you."

Before Amon could respond, she quickly leaned forward and kissed his cheek, just beside the corner of his mouth.

Amon froze as Seraphina immediately pulled away.

Her face was bright red, but she still managed to smile.

"I really appreciate your help."

She quickly turned around and started walking away.

Amon blinked before stepping closer.

"Seraphina, wait--"

She was already moving too quickly.

BONK!

Seraphina’s forehead collided directly with the metal signpost she walked into.

"..."

"..."

Seraphina slowly covered her forehead.
