Amon immediately began struggling against the ice chains, but the more he pulled, the tighter they seemed to become.

He tried circulating his mana through his arms, hoping he could weaken the restraints from the inside, but the chains didn’t even crack.

’Fuck... These aren’t ordinary ice chains.’

Felicia calmly picked up the crystal tablet from her desk before tapping the screen several times.

The moment she turned it toward him, Amon’s eyes widened.

A video was playing on the screen, and it showed what had happened in the drawing room earlier.

Amon watched the footage for several seconds before his expression slowly turned horrified.

’Oh, you’ve got to be fucking kidding me.’

Felicia watched his reaction with a disappointed expression. "I never expected my daughter to do something like this."

Amon swallowed hard before looking toward her. "Ms. Vale, I can explain."

Felicia leaned forward slightly. "Did you blackmail her?"

"What?!" Amon’s eyes widened in genuine panic. "I would never do something like that!"

He tried his best to sound convincing while internally cursing the security arrangements of this house.

’Who puts cameras everywhere just to watch their daughter?’

Felicia leaned back in her chair and stared at him silently.

The room remained quiet for several seconds, with only the faint sound of the whetstone resting against the desk breaking the silence.

Eventually, Felicia sighed.

"Seraphina is very dear to me." Her expression softened slightly as she looked toward the tablet. "I love my daughter more than anything in this world."

Amon nodded quickly. "Of course. She’s very lucky to have a mother who cares about her so much."

Felicia looked at him, and Amon continued before his brain could stop him.

"But that doesn’t mean you can put her in a prison, stripping her of the right to do something she loves."

Felicia’s expression didn’t change, and Amon immediately looked away. "...I’ll stop talking."

Felicia ignored the comment.

"I had an arranged marriage." Her voice became quieter as she continued. "When Seraphina was born, her father wasn’t happy."

Amon’s expression became more serious.

"He wanted a son." Felicia’s fingers tightened slightly around the handle of the short sword.

"He eventually went as far as attempting to poison Seraphina because he wanted another child without her standing in his way."

Amon stared at her.

"And when I discovered what he had done..." Felicia paused before looking directly into his eyes. "Do you know what I did to him?"

Amon slowly swallowed as a thought surfaced in his mind. "Wait. Are you single now?"

Felicia raised an eyebrow as the room became completely silent.

She stared at him for several seconds before slowly shaking her head.

"You are a remarkably smart and stupid boy at the same time."

She stood from her chair and walked toward the side of the room where Amon’s belongings had been shattered.

Her eyes landed on the wrapped gift he had brought earlier.

Felicia picked it up, and Amon’s expression immediately turned panicked. "Wait, that’s actually a gift for you."

"I know."

"You shouldn’t open it yet."

Felicia glanced at him. "Why?"

"Because..." Amon desperately searched for an excuse. "...It’s supposed to be opened at the appropriate time."

Felicia ignored him and began removing the wrapping.

Amon watched helplessly as the packaging fell away and a translucent piece of armor appeared beneath it.

Felicia stared at the armor, and then she looked at Amon before looking at the armor again.

If taken out of context, gifting a skin-tight dress definitely made him look like a pervert.

Her expression became increasingly strange. "Did you seriously think I would wear something like this?"

Amon’s mouth opened. "I can explain."

Felicia threw the armor onto the desk. "No need."

She picked up the short sword again, and Amon swallowed hard as his eyes followed the weapon. "Uh... Miss Felicia, why the weapon?"

Felicia walked closer. "I can see that Seraphina really likes you."

Amon’s expression became cautious. "Uh?"

"I simply want to make sure she isn’t making a mistake."

Amon looked at the sword. "Cutting my hand isn’t going to make her hate me."

Felicia blinked as she smiled lightly. "Who said anything about cutting your hand?"

Amon’s face immediately became pale.

Felicia slowly lowered the sword until its tip pointed toward the lower part of his abdomen.

"You are quite big for your age, aren’t you?"

Amon instinctively looked around the room for anything that could help him.

’Think, Amon. Think.’

His eyes suddenly landed on the files scattered across Felicia’s desk.

His Merchant’s Divine Insight activated almost automatically as several descriptions appeared before his eyes.

Most of the documents were ordinary business transactions, but one particular file immediately caught his attention.

Its projected numbers were completely different from the others.

’High investment... low return...’ Amon’s eyes narrowed.

A System notification appeared beneath the information.

---

[Merchant’s Divine Insight]

[Potential Business Transaction Detected.]

[Risk Assessment: Extremely High.]

[Warning: The proposed contract contains hidden conditions. A trap set by Vale’s rival, the Cordo family.]

[Probability of Financial Loss: 94.7%.]

[Estimated Damage: Potential bankruptcy.]

[Detection Method: Contact the listed intermediary and request verification of the secondary contract.]

---

Amon’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest.

’This isn’t just a bad deal.’ His eyes quickly moved across the information. ’It’s a trap.’

He looked at Felicia, who was just about to open his pants.

"Ms. Vale."

She stopped and looked up at him as Amon’s expression suddenly became serious. "Don’t sign that contract."

Felicia’s eyebrows raised in confusion. "What?"

"The contract on your desk." Amon pointed toward the file.

"You’re about to make a deal that looks profitable on the surface, but the secondary agreement contains a condition that transfers the financial liability to your company."

Felicia stared at him, and Amon continued quickly, trying to explain.

"If you want to confirm it, call the intermediary listed on the contract and ask him about the secondary agreement."

Felicia remained silent, and Amon could feel the sword still hovering dangerously close to him.

"Call him."

Felicia’s eyes narrowed, and after a moment, she reached for her communication device.

The call connected after a while.

"Mr. Vance."

Amon watched her expression carefully.

Felicia asked several questions, following exactly what Amon had told her to ask.

At first, the conversation appeared ordinary, but her expression changed and her eyes became colder.

"Repeat that."

The person on the other end spoke again, and Felicia slowly lowered the communication device.

The temperature inside the room suddenly dropped. "You’ve got to be fucking kidding me."

Amon remained completely still as Felicia immediately ended the call.

She picked up the contract and examined it again, this time with a completely different expression.

Amon watched her carefully. "Is it a scam?"

Felicia didn’t answer immediately as she simply stared at the document.

Finally, she closed her eyes and a wave of cold energy suddenly spread throughout the room.

The windows frosted over as the temperature dropped dramatically, and even the hallway outside briefly became covered in a thin layer of ice.

Amon shivered at the sudden change in temperature. ’...She’s pissed.’

Felicia finally released the spell, and the ice chains around Amon’s body disappeared.

He dropped toward the floor and landed heavily on his feet.

"Ow..."

Amon rubbed his wrists before taking several steps away from the desk.

Felicia remained standing there, staring at the contract.

"If I had signed this..." Her voice was unusually quiet. "I could have lost everything."

Amon nodded his head. "Probably."

Felicia slowly looked toward him with an expression that wasn’t threatening.

"I thought you were a scammer."

Amon immediately straightened his back. "I have never scammed anyone in my entire life."

She looked at him for a long second before folding her arms.

"...How do you know about the contract without reading it?"

Amon gathered his thoughts before he slowly pointed at his eyes.

"I have divine eyes." He said seriously. "They can tell me things that no one knows."

Felicia remained silent for a few seconds before the door to her office opened.

’...Ah, fuck.’

The one who walked inside was Daniel Edinburgh, and with him was Annette.
